First Attempts at Flying the DJI Mini 2 SE

- Trying out the DJI Mini 2 SE over fields near Long Melford.
Its my first drone but i am super impressed already and loving the experience of flying it after learning all the rules and getting registered with the Civil Aviation Authority.
This footage is not great as i have not yet learned the best Drone/Camera
settings or how to colour grade during the edit.

One piece of advice, for smooth footage, make sure you fly in C mode (slowest). Even if the switch in your controller is already in C mode, check your flight mode inb the upper left corner of the screen. The DJI Fly app has a bad habit to set flight mode to N by default on every startup, regardless of the position of the switch in the controller.

Hi Matt , good flight . Ive had mine since may last year and was new to Drone flying -met a fellow pilot who advised me on some tips and joined the Model association which also provides insurance included.
I have now took my drone on a few holiday locations - France the Somme battlefields -Majorca Porto Cristo -New England USA - some really cool beach locations (Mass/New Hampshire and Cape Cod -Nantucket Island so many different types of flights over land and water the DJI Mini 2 SE has been amazing ..Keep Flying mate .

(I filmed long Melford church yesterday morning but have not edited the footage yet)

Hi Matt good job, I got one for Christmas but have not done much flying with all the storms over here in Canada. Enjoyed this as I miss the English countryside you got another sub.

Brilliant first flight Matt. Keep practicing and finding interesting locations. I use Davinci Resolve for editing and grading but the mini 2 has great colour out of the gate anyways. I've subscribed and look forward to more videos and adventures.
Thanks, i have just started using Davinci Resolve after hitfilm became unusable, love how easy the editing is already, just got to get into the colour grading now.

The resolution @ 2.7K looks pretty damn good. As corny as it sounds getting the cheaper version is most probably then wisest choice for beginners ( like myself )
I am loving it so far and feel the footage is good enough, If I really get into flying drones and making videos I may upgrade to a 4k drone but not for a year or two.👍

My wife bought me this Drone for Xmas, I've not flown it yet waiting for a dry day 😂, but it looks like it's got a decent camera by the quality of the video.
We have had far too much wet and windy weather so far this year but I am loving the drone when I do get the chance to fly👍

I got a DJI Mini 2 SE for my birthday in January, I haven't tried to fly it yet..still in deep winter here in Maine...I hope to get it outside soon. I've never even played video games so it should be interesting when I get the controller in my hands. You did fine with your maiden voyage. I just hope to get it off the ground and back in one piece.
Thanks, The mini 2 SE is my first drone but it feels so easy to use, I love that it will just hover in position if I lose my bearings ,I am slowly getting more confident flying and am happy with my purchase. Good Luck with your first flight ‼️👍
Finally warmed up enough this afternoon to take her up for first flight....it went better than expected, I run out of daylight and had to land it...tomorrow is suppose to be a better day and I'll have another go at it.@@MurphyBorder

The recorded file is 1920 x 1080 , I am not sure if i have it set up right or if my editing software settings were wrong but hopefully i can get it looking better with experience.
