On our second day visiting Crestone, Colorado we decided to drive into town to explore the shops. For breakfast and coffee we stopped at one of our favorite places: The Elephant Cloud Market. Anna spotted some artwork there that she liked, and after some further internet searching learned that the artist had more of their work at a local gallery. After breakfast we set off to window shop and find said gallery. Later on during our town walk, we meandered into the Crestone Creative Trade Co to look at crystals. Of course, we stumbled into some wildlife and had to film. We concluded our walking tour of Crestone, with a late lunch at the Mystic Rose Cafe. We spent the rest of our day at our cute mountain Airbnb where we photographed and filmed the alpenglow on the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We didn’t give you a tour of any Stupas or Temples because of COVID restrictions - next time we visit, if the restrictions change, we will give you a tour (and maybe even one of the Sand Dunes!).
Where are some of your favorite places to visit in Crestone, Colorado?

Vlog 40: Walking Tour of #Crestone, Colorado (so much to see! And the art gallery we never found)
----------------------
We’re Anna D and Adam, vloggers living in Colorado. After the pandemic shut everything down in March of 2020, we decided to make more time to explore our own state in part for our own mental wellbeing and in part because we’d been living here over 5 years and had barely hiked more than 10 different trails. We married on Valentine’s Day 2010 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. #Travel has always been something that we both love and have done quite a bit of in the 16 years we’ve been together. So why not combine our passion of video making and photography to share with you our adventures? We’re on a quest to find some of the coolest spots in #Colorado (and beyond!). Where should we visit next?
WOW! What an amazing video! I'm so happy that you enjoyed our beautiful little town. Next time you come to visit, please stop by and say Howdy! Thank You so much for sharing.
You're so kind!! We absolutely will! We love Crestone! What a lovely comment. Enjoy your day!
Art gallery is located at 120 South Cottonwood Street in downtown Crestone, Colorado
Thank you for sharing!
Crestone is such a cool little town. We stayed in an AirBnB that was in the same building as the brewery by the park, it was so peaceful and helped recharge those batteries. Thanks for stopping by our channel and allowing us to discover yours. Maybe one day our Colorado paths will cross IRL. :)
Aww thank you so much for stopping by as well. Couldn't help but notice your cover looks like the DC/MD/VA metro. We'll have to check out that Airbnb. For us, we will usually need a dog friendly place for our small travel bufdy. Hopefully our paths will cross indeed. Happy holidays!
You'll always get more than you expect with Peter's fascinating videos!!
Awesome!
Crestone looks like a great little town, thank you for sharing!
It is! Aww yay! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Discovered it in 2015. Heading back there next month for a visit. Saw the very best reggae band there too at Cloud ☁️. Jah Kings band. Best sound of any Roots band in America hands down
That's awesome. It is a special place and we love the Cloud Station for sure. We've been there twice and can't wait to go back. Thank you for commenting and sharing that band with us :)
Colorado got so many cool places lol. I like that tiny house! Those nature shots are amazing too!!
It really does!! When are you coming to visit?
I love Crestone so much!!
Me too! It is such an amazing place.
Youre right near the Great Sand Dunes National Monument.
Indeed! So close to the national park. We need permits to film there so that will be something we work on for later. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Next time you visit Crestone, you MUST visit the Crestone Artisans Gallery (perhaps the art gallery you were looking for, but never found!). We are just a block north of the Elephant Cloud. Here is our website: www.crestoneartisansgallery.com/ It's well worth your time to visit!!
Oooo!!!! Thank you so much for the recommendation! Yes we would love to! I (Anna) am working on a drawing from a photo I took during this trip instagram.com/reel/CciTa5vAfqZ/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Any other local recommendations?
I used to live in crestone its beautiful oh and you guys walked right by the art gallery multiple times (located inside the park area) 😂
OMG 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ we really should have stopped to inquire lol. Thank you for letting me know. Next time for sure! We love Crestone so much. It's so beautiful over there
I really enjoyed this vlog and really enjoy Crestone. I certainly want to go back and see some other places. When is our next trip :-D
Same!!! Sand dunes and UFO watch tower next!
@@AnnaDandAdam oh yes!
It sucks that locals who work and live in Crestone have to resort to being homeless or living on someone's property in a shed or camper like some feudal serf. The reason: vacation rentals being swamped up by people like the ones making this video and greedy landlords. I work on homes here- so many sit empty just waiting for the city yups to come stay for two days. It's a great place but people like this should really address the fact that they literally put people out of homes. Used too tourists had to rent a motel room or camp- now tourists take all the local housing and force the working locals to camp and live in motel rooms. The money does not 'trickle down' to the local people- it stays with the business and property owners and working people in Crestone get paid shit compared to the city but the homes get rented out to city people at city prices.
Hi Forester. We are so sorry to hear about how much you and other locals are hurting and that tourism money is not making it your way. Please share with us if you, or anyone you know has land to camp on or a rental that is managed by them where we could stay. We love car camping and want to come back in the summertime to visit the sand dunes. We love staying at Crestone because those mountains are just so recharging and we love eating at the Cloud Station. If there are any other businesses that are locally managed we can help support, let us know as well. Unfortunately, everything is changing everywhere so fast and prices are skyrocketing everywhere. Denver continues to see increasing homelessness as well as surrounding cities. It's utterly insane. Thank you for commenting and sharing your side of the story.
@@PrimeDirective101 a solution in Crestone would be to keep all the Boulder people out- that will help- They treat it like their personal retreat over here. I Don't know the over all solution but I know its not watching more yuppies roll into town to play with expensive toys and make social media posts about the gritty mountain town they visited and the simple people who live there. IDK but less yuppies buying complicated lattes please. There are a lot of empty houses so yea I think a solution could be to regulate the ratio of vacation rentals to local rentals and also not letting people from out of town or state live remotely and rent out vacation rentals. Investors from out of town or state buy up houses and rent them to tourists and they hardly step foot in Crestone so that would be a step to stop that. I agree out right socialism would be worse but there is going to be a real shift soon if something does not give. The cycle repeats: step 1: yuppies find hip mountain town- step 2: yuppies then exploit and destroy the local economy and price out all local people - step 3: yuppies have their own private retreat to flex about and make social media posts. Make the yuppies live in tents when they come like the locals are now forced to do- there is another solution. Also they can stay in a motel instead of forcing locals to live in cramped motel efficiencies.
Spot on. Beautiful litte spots to see but the Baca Grande Cartel well I'm sure you know.

We are planning on going in December. I see you uploaded this vid on December. Was there no snow on December? I am hoping to see a lot of snow, but now I am not sure if I will based on this video. Tks :-)
Hi! Enjoy! We took this video in October. We're not sure what the snow conditions will be in December but it will be beautiful either way! We hope you have fun! Thank you so much for commenting!
Thank you so much!! :-)
@@brendahernandeznazario6740 you're welcome!

Lololol!!!
I hated the music you used so much. That town just looks annoying.
Thank you for the feedback. This video was made about two years ago and we feel that we've grown since then. We visited again this year and have another video coming out in a few weeks with totally different music. If you feel like watching, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
That town is full of weirdos.
