Guy walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under arm. Says to the bartender: I’ll take a beer, and one for the road.
(best slab relevant joke I could find, but at least I tried.)

Hello. I really appreciate your videos. Most people are too caught up in the system to understand alternatives like yours. We came to slab city this weekend and unfortunately we only got to spend an hour or so looking around and exploring. Will be back soon. I'm hoping I have enough footage to create a decent video. I need to line out a good tour of the place next time I come. Please keep making the videos they are incredibly enriching.

Traversing with Trent yea like the videos of her and cave man panhandling for money, or waiting outside a church for commodities boxes!!! Hell of a way of life! Most of the time she is begging for donations and listing items she needs! They are nothing but bums and most of them get a SSI check!

Pretty eye opening to the summer heat reality. I've seen many other vids about it, but, this one really shows how intense it gets. One has to have a very sturdy shade cover for their home and very good cool down solutions throughout the day. I'm concerned about sleep! I LOVE your documentary style videos!

The land Slab City is on is owned by the California teachers retirement fund and they choose to let these people be free. Now from what Ive heard if they sell the land then it has to meet certain regulations etc and be cleaned up. With that being said Slab city is unique because the "government" has turned a blind eye of sorts. I doubt there's any other government owned land where they would allow this to happen. Plus moving further north for cooler summers means colder winters where your water would freeze up etc. It wouldnt be sustainable

I kind of do, through my wishlist and fundraisers. I don't monetize many of my videos because I like to showcase my favorite music, what I'm listening to at the time, and it would be really difficult to get in touch with all the artists at this point. Maybe in the future. But they can monetize my videos and profit a tiny bit from their songs being played, so that's kind of my way of giving back to them.
Some time, I'll do a video with tracks that I record myself.

Maybe, just block off a little area and have a little "cool room" to go in when it gets too hot. Not that I've ever tried something like this, but it sounds good in theory -lol.

People use a lot of different methods of cooling. Some people have air conditioning, some people have insulated rooms with directed air flow, some pull cool air from underground, so many ways

You know a good shelter would be to dig 4-6ft underground then build up from there. Because the temperature underground is way cooler. Build it out clay or mud. And the extreme temperatures shouldn’t bother u to much. Sense your at ground level u can gravity feed all your water into the house. Leave one water container on the surface and shaded. The other bury it and u got hot cold water 🤣.

That's all true, but this is Slab City we're talking about. If you're smart enough to build a proper dwelling for the desert environment, then you're probably too smart to end up in Slab City.
