Leeds - Liverpool Canal Breach Repair Completed May 14th 2022

Finally it appears the Breach has been repaired and completed.
This drone footage was taken at around 7am on Saturday 14th May 2022.
However, although much of the heavy plant was no longer on site the footpath was still closed.
The section of footpath over the breach looks quite narrow and falls away quite steeply.
This part of the canal is exposed to high winds and a fence would be helpful. I'm sure those in charge will be planning to erect one very soon before opening the towpath to the public.

Further Information of the fence;
Thank you for contacting Canal & River Trust regarding the lack of fencing along the repaired path at the Rishton Breach. I have spoken with the Project Manager who has advised that the previous fencing was very poor so they removed it and are putting new stock proof fencing here between the towpath and the field. They are hoping to do so this week and will reopen the towpath once this is done. The online notice here will be updated with further updates.
