    BeeGees are number one. Best songwriters, singers and all out good human beings. They were the first group ever to donate all proceeds of a song to charity with Too much heaven given to UNICEF making them millions to this day as well as the proceeds of Blue Island to help with the aftermath of the Bosnian war particularly the women and children affected by the war. All out great people.

    1978...they were already moving to contemporary rock. Last album of the 70s was Spirits Having Flown. Inc. Too much Heaven and Tragedy which they wrote in the same afternoon and Shadow Dancing that evening. 3 number 1s in one day! Barry created that explosion purely by mouth over microphone 🎤 and overloading.

They are the best at songwriting, vocals, harmonies, and not to mention, they are awesome human beings. They were good, decent, generous men. They used their fame to give back to charity. I just love them so much. ❤️

      @VIDSTORAGE Před 10 měsíci

      @@GeorgeMaster-xg7lg I totally understand how they got that rhythm . Those coastal bridges have strange sounds from the things that the builders put in the asphalt of the bridge to get the drivers attention as they drive along.. Barry thought it was a not so great bridge but the designers do that intentionally for safety awareness .. The newest bridge in Charleston ,SC , you can hear all sorts of weird noises on that one..

    They organized a fundraiser that was held at the UN and donated TOO MUCH HEAVEN in perpetuity to UNICEF. The album became their top seller and had a 3rd #1 called LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT that is one of their most sampled. You should also react to the title song SPIRITS HAVING FLOWN, and the B side of the TOO MUCH HEAVEN single called REST YOUR LOVE. When you react to The Mills Brothers, maybe slip “Bee Gees inspiration” or something into the title to make it easier for Bee Gees fans to find.

    They got their start right here in Australia as kids in 1958 and started booking gigs and getting a following in the 1960s. They were huge in the 70's as you know in the disco era. "Tragedy" was released in 1979 so you were right about an 80s vibe. It's so sad to think of Andy, Robin and Maurice being gone. "Nights on Broadway" was their first song singing falsetto. Barry continues to make music but unfortunately there are no concert dates booked for 2023. Maybe at 75 he's decided to take a well earned break. What a phenominal sound they had. I will remain an eternal fan of the BeeGees 🥰🎸🎶🎤❤

If you were to watch a video of them performing this song live in concert, you would feel the impact a little bit more. The explosion you hear and referenced to was to emphasize the tragedy being sung about. In concert they usually would use some small explosives / fireworks and the explosion came across even louder.

And for No 3, even though they are cousins and not a "family" like the rest, I would go with Alabama, They have so many great hits including I think something like 41 #1's. For some reason, harmonies are exponentially better when people from the same family sing together. Don't know why, but it's always held true in my experience. I am not a BeeGees fan. I gave up on pop a long long time ago, about the time the BeeGees were hot. I like complicated arrangements and instrumental excellence. Regardless, glad you like them. They are definitely worthy, if for nothing else but their harmonies. Amazing voices. Great pop tunes.

      It’s because they have the same tone. So when they sing they sound like one full voice.

    Bee Gees are the absolute best band of all time!!! (To me). I only have 2 that are even numbered. 1 Bee Gees 2 Journey and then a bunch of others that I really can’t number. Too many are just so close. My top though definitely those two! I was too young for Beatles and I’ve just never caught on to them. Very small when they came along and they didn’t stay together long enough for me to get to know them.
