Making a Thor-Inspired Woodworking Mallet // Scrap Wood Project

- In this video, I show how I made a Thor-Inspired woodworking mallet for my great friend, Mr. Mountain Man. This woodworking mallet was made with scrap 3/4 inch red oak that I had bought from the local home center for a previous project. I thought it would be cool to model the mallet after Mjölnir, Thor's hammer. Then I took my wood burning kit to it and burned Mr. Mountain Man's logo on the side.

Great build video and an awesome looking mallet! I love the way you explain your builds and show a very complete process. At first I thought you had laser etched the logos but seeing you do it all by hand was really satisfying to watch! Keep up the good work 👍

You and I both know that we are the ones peeling off dried glue because it is a ton of fun! That being said, your Chief Cinematographer deserves a pay raise, not so sure about the greatest hands, though. LOL! The mallet looks awesome!

Haha! Thanks Grant! The blade is still going strong, it just needed a good cleaning. This project was what made me realize it. I had been doing a lot of cuts with pine before that and there was plenty of build-up. Why am I not surprised that you’re the one who noticed? 😆
@@WhiteLabWorkshop soft wood will do that! I only noticed because it drives me crazy when the blade burns!!
Haha! I was just messing with you. 😆 I call it attention to detail and it’s a good thing to have! The cool thing about this project is that it marks the first of several projects in a row I have queued up that utilize hardwood. So seeing how badly my blade needed cleaning while doing this one, I knew I couldn’t put it off any longer. Rest assured, my next couple of videos shouldn’t give you an eye twitch!
