I have an Epcot celebrity story that I experienced as a visitor. Epcot was a new park when we visited in 1984, we got off a ride called the universe of energy, we got off the ride & see people running past us, guys talking on walkie talkies, we turn around & there’s Michael Jackson!! He was on the ride with us!! This is when Thriller came out & he was on his way to being a super megastar!! Said hi to him & got his autograph on our Epcot map.

I think people ask about the food because in a lot of places you get discounted or free food on your break if you work there. Or at least that is the case with my previous jobs. I live in the UK though so maybe it’s slightly different in America 💕

When I worked a movie theater, we got this small tray of popcorn while on our shift. I think most places at least offer employee discount.

Just throwing this out there, I've never been to Orlando but I've seen enough to totally get that it's a tourist trap. I live in Wine Country, and there's nothing to do here, either. It's literally wine tasting and gambling. We have tourists from all over the world as well, just not as many kids. We also have the worst drivers in the US, so there's that. Rich people, especially, love to vacation here (no one else can afford it) and we have a lot of celebrities and such. Not as many now since the entire state is on fire, but generally we do.
Gotta say, I absolutely love your vlogs. Never in a million years would I have imagined I'd be into Disney-specific vlogs. I've only been to Disney once about 22 years ago and I'm not a huge fan of the company, but I'm fascinated by it. Your vlogs are very engaging and informative, and I feel like I'm experiencing Disney vicariously through yours and other vlogs. I am even considering going back. You rock!

if weather is your primary concern you should think about living in east tennessee or west virginia! very calm weather and there are some super cute towns and cities!

I've honestly never heard the "have a disney day" thing. If someone says it sarcastically to a rude guest then yeah I guess you could assume that, but over the course of my 2 programs i never heard a hidden definition for the phrase!

In an area like orlando, it’s touristy all year long, but in South Florida (where I live), we have a very specific season when they’re all around, which are the exact months you mentioned. Most of the snowbirds (rich old people who spend half the year here and the other half somewhere) show up late December and leave early to mid May.
I love living in Florida and I honestly don’t wanna move elsewhere. There’s tons of stuff to do down here and when you’re only a few hours away from Orlando it’s awesome!

Yeah, we’re like an hour out from Miami and 2-3 out from Orlando- no complaints here!
Nashville/Tennessee anywhere. You get lots of good weather. No real natural disaster threats. No blazing heat, plus mountains but also 4 seasons. It snows but like no big snowstorms like up north. It’s like the perfect place to live.
I was in the same park as my favorite singer yesterday and I was so mad because in the 5 hours I was there I walked past the same couple three times in three different parts of the park but didn’t come across her once. I was soooo mad!
There are quite a few people who have mentioned Tennessee, so I'm definitely going to look there for the next leg of my life!!!
And omg! That's so frustrating!!!! You know why? The singer was probably taken to the different rides through backstage routes :/
I lived in downtown Orlando and I loved it, its a great, small city and people are generally very friendly and nice

I applied to be apart of the cultural representative program. I had an interview in Toronto, Ontario Canada. I would have worked in the Canada pavilion in Epcot. I didn’t get the position, but I am so happy I got the experience of the interview

At a lot of restaurants, fast food chains or venues that service food, yes, the staff either eat for free or have a discount or there is some other benefit to eating there. It's fairly common. There might be limits on how much you can order or when the food is served, but I've worked at plenty of events and venues where the support staff were served.
Maybe a Disney park has too many employees to make that workable, but it's a fair question. Personally, if the staff aren't provided food, I bring a lunch. That's a simple, easy way to save and to eat healthier.

If you want a great place to come after graduation, try Atlanta. Weather not too bad. never too cold and only occasionally extremely hot. less tornados than midwest, central airport, near beach, good job market.

Do you have any advice for visiting Disney alone? / would you recommend it or not? I haven't been to Disney since I was 5 and have a vacation month in September which doesn't line up with any of my friends or family's breaks well.
Oh wow, that's awesome! My friends just graduated from Mercyhurst and one is returning to Erie for a full time job soon!
i've never fully vacationed there alone - but I've been there for half a day or so by myself. I wouldn't recommend a whole vacation on your own... It was nice to sometimes go and do the things I wanted (also, single rider lines!) but a half a day was about all I could take by myself. It's a really fun experience to share with someone else!

That's one of the plans at least! haha I want to be a professor! I've always wanted to be a teacher or coach, so I'm really looking forward to teaching a subject that i love to hopefully people who actually want to be in school and learn! What's your dream job?
@@olivia_simone Im kind of doing it now, though I wish I continued on and got my Masters so I could be a therapist (I really dont want to go back to school now). I work in mental health at an adolescent facility, ages 12-18. They live there for about a year and we lead therapuetic and fun groups, monitor all of their daily living activities, offer support, etc. (Theres a lot we do)

I’m not sure if you are allowed to answer this but what character performer did you used to play at Disney
(Just so you know because of character integrity 90% of performers will use the phrase that they were “friends with” the character.) From what I can tell, Olivia has been friends with Mickey, Minnie, Piglet, Stitch, and Donald.

Hi! Thanks so much for watching! No, it wasn't! At first it's a little disorienting but after a week or so (or about 2-3 times in a park) it's like the back of your hand!

Honestly, WDW was pretty much my life while I was down there! I went to coco beach, Universal, Celebration, and one night we went to a movie theater over by the convention center off International Drive. Disney was brand new to me so that remains to be my main focus whenever I go down!
I don't know if you'll see this but I'm really curious. Roughly how heavy are the fur character heads? Do they feel less heavy when you're wearing them? And how much vision do you have through them? I'm really interested in how things work.

what kind of costs are associated with the DCP?
There's a registration fee that goes towards your first week of rent. I think it's somewhere between $250 and $350, and it is paid within a week of accepting the offer. And then you have to pay for your transportation to and from home (like airfare or driving) and then the apartment is furnished (including dishes) but you need towels, cleaning supplies, sheets, etc.
Totally Random Question: On DCP 2 did your badge have you as being from PSU or your UC Davis...or were you Chris from Orlando?
UC Davis since I was able to apply through my status as a recent UC Davis grad!
