Spot on....I was at my local Toyota dealership getting work done on my 21' and couldn't take my eyes off the 22' Platinum on the lot. The service manager noticed the gaze and said "Don't do it, Toyota hasn't figured this truck out yet, we're having a lot of problems with it." First time I've EVER heard that statement at a Toyota dealership!!!!

I've only had the coolant seal leak at the 80k mark on the driver's side (the most common) and it's a PITA job if you don't remove the CAB. I ordered a 2023 to Toyota Tundra dark blue pick it up on NOV 18/22 ..Its a BEAUTIFUL truck very comfortable seat and nice interior.. I've been doing mechanical work for 40 years and had trucks sense 1978 . I also exchanged tires for BF GOODRICH KO2. The truck rides like a Lincoln and handle nice. The first thing i do is listen for noise from the Drive Line to Panels then drove to a gravel road and engage my 4x4 about 5 times. I engage my 4x4 at a FULL STOP most of the time or at 3 to 5 mph and everything work GREAT. .I put 600 miles on the truck so far...3 days ago we had some snow so i decided to engage 4x4 and it made a loud clunk it did this 2 times .. YESTERDAY I went to the dealer to have it check they told me that the TRANSFER CASE needed to be replaced... I THOUGHT HE WAS KIDDING he had to tell me 3 times before it SANK in ..I can feel my stomach turn over and said that i NEVER in 40 years had TRANSFER CASE ISSUES and I didn't even make my first payment yet ...They told me it may take 4 or more weeks to replace it ...I TOLD THEM THAT'S IT FOR HUNTING NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. We are getting snow now and you need a 4x4 working ....CEO ; AKIO TOYODA..Must resolve the issues with these NEW TUNDRA Truck or you will DESTROY TOYOTA reputation ..

They could have kept the V8 as an option, pairing it with an 8 or 10 speed would have increased mpg. I would be extremely interested then. Just wait til you’re out of warranty and start having turbo issues. It would be expensive enough to repair/replace if they were front mounted, but rear mounted??? Sounds like you have to damn near pull the whole engine or tear apart the entire interior. To each their own, but your “dream truck” might turn into a real nightmare when faced with a $10,000 bill to replace turbos after 5-7 years. I love everything else about this truck, but the longevity of the turbos and/or hybrid combo scare me, especially towing. I think they lost A LOT of buyers with not offering the V8 anymore, just my 2 cents.

That cost additional $15000 or more, and the most unthinkable part of buying this new Tundra is you do not want to drive away from the dealership without extended warranty. Extended warranty was for others , not now , But Toyota is selling them above MSRP with $4000 or more extended warranty, not sure why anyone would buy one today, think about how much money would you lose when you sell, when things get back to normal , I paid $39800 before tax for Limited Tundra with MSRP of $47000, now if you buy one 5K over MSRP or at the the MSRP how much can you sell it down the road, or what would you get from insurance few years from now, would you get enough to pay your loan balance.
