I don't know what it's like to have anxiety but I thank you for being transparent and talking about your anxiety so others like myself may understand better. Yay!! I'm so excited for you that your mortgage went through! You deserve the home of your dreams! You are so humble, honest, relatable, and sweet! I'm also happy for you and Bei and that you will continue living together in your new home. I can't wait to see how you finish and decorate it. I love seeing Bei and Yas in your vlogs. Love your friendships! Also love seeing Opal and Pip! Keep doing what you're doing! I just in general love watching your videos!

I just quit Escitalopram and had some symptoms for a while but I think they’re fading away now! Don’t be scared about coming off medication, it should be fine if done properly! But also don’t worry if you feel like you need them, even for the rest of your life, you don’t have to live in anxiety❣️

    Dear Kate:
Thank you for being frank and share your struggle with anxiety with us.
Whenever you feel anxious, remember others who are in far worse situations. I am old ( photo is not recent, I have no family, no next of keen, no children, and no partner. Sometimes, I wonder what’s wrong with me and why and how I ended in up like this, but I close my eyes and remind myself that I still in much better place than many unfortunate souls on this planet.
You are young, smart, and beautiful, and you will prevail.

Hi Katie, with sertraline or with any antidepressants, you need to slowly reduce intake. Do not stop just from day to day. If you are on 100mg try to drop for week to 75, then 50, then 25mg… when you will be on 25mg try to take them every other day. When you will be comfortable with that, have them every third day and continue reduce dosage slowly. This will Help your body to adjust without hard symptoms. It can take even couple of months but you got this ! ♥️

I second this as a mental health therapist! The worst thing to do is come off medication too quickly. Like a few others said I would also start with a therapist now if possible to aid you through the process while supporting you and teaching you alternate coping skills to utilize for anxiety and depression. Good luck, you got this! ❤️

You are so strong for opening up, really proud of you. I felt really anxious for a while, it got better when I stopped using the pill and other birth control. Research from Sweden has shown that 24% of women on birth control uses antidepressants. But I think most important is take your time and do it on your own terms❤️❤️❤️

Hi Kate, I love your channel and your videos! You probably already are doing that, but just to speak from personal experience, please please please do not come off your medication without psychological/ psychiatric support! I made that mistake a few years ago because i was feeling better - obviously, since i was taking the meds! - and the anxiety and panic attacks started again just where i left them off. In combination with therapy i have slowly reduced and then stopped taking it and now i'm happy to say i've been off meds for the last two years and done with therapy next month and i am feeling so so much better! xx

i was about to say the same thing, that having a therapist on that journey would probably be useful. no first hand experience, my sister is currently on the meds but far from going off them. but this does make sense even for someone not on the meds, to get in touch with a professional when you do quit, since i can imagine it being very overwhelming just to do it on your own, a therapist for sure can help with the process. glad you're doing great! x

I came off sertraline last year as I hated the effects of them. Did CBT with the NHS and found coping mechanisms for me to actively combat those thoughts and honestly feel so much better. You definitely have some tough days but I found it so worth it. Hang in there you can definitely do it!

Hi Kate, you’re such a sweet soul. I used to be on anxiety meds too. Any time our body is in pain or we experience anxiety it is trying to tell us something. You are your normal self off medication, the medication just suppresses the emotions. We must face our emotions instead of covering them up with medication to be able to function in life. We are not taught emotional intelligence. But I saw your video and wanted to offer you this advice. A lot of the time we suffer from these issues because there is something not in alignment in our life or there is unresolved emotions internally that have to be processed. But we always have to get to the root cause. I help women with this after recovering myself. I suggest coming off them & figuring out the root cause of the anxiety that’s what I did. I went deep into self internal healing. Sending you much love 💕✨

I use belly breathing when I need to fall asleep and am tossing and turning. Puts me out like a light within minutes as the heart rate has no choice but to slow down. I also used it before doing a presentation at work and if ever I feel myself getting stressed sitting in traffic 😆

Good on you for being open and honest about medication. The more it is spoken of an an everyday medication that is taken by those who need it to manage depression and anxiety, the more it reduces the stigma. Take your time and consult with your GP on a plan to gradually reduce the dose safely. There is absolutely no pressure to stop taking medication for mental illness. There is often a pressure for people to 'get of it' medication quickly, when for some people it will need to be taken for the rest of their life. There is no shame in this and unless it gives you awful side effects and it is greatly benefitting your mental health, there is no rush or reason to stop medication.

Hey Kate, I've been on Sertraline and just recently weaned myself off as I too was also scared to come off them. I've done a lot of research on the body, particularly the female body and hormones and a lot of things can be out of sync which in turn impact on our ability to manage stress and anxiousness. I think whilst some of us genuinely aren't able to control anxiety, I want to give my mind and body the chance to do it. So a proper self care regime is key, good quality sleep if you can get it ( I do struggle with this), good and healthy food choices, good hydration, daily exercise even if just a good walk from one place to another, and time out doing something for yourself that makes you happy and uplifted (I love gardening for this). Its hard to get these all going and keep them going, especially when I work full time and have major care issues with elderly parents but I figured if I'm not looking after myself, I can't look after anyone else properly and if I don't want to rely on tablets then something has to change. Hope this helps you and anyone else reading, good luck sweetie xx

Anxiety is horrible - especially when there isn't anything specific triggering it. Speak to your doctor about taking propranolol its a beta blocker which can be taken when you have higher periods of anxiety and stops the physical symptoms (rapid heart rate, clammy hands, sick to the stomach feeling) and takes like 10/15 mins to work :) worth a chat - its changed my life :)
