    I’ll never understand why the anti-EV hate train are amongst the first to click on every new review that’s posted of an EV just to tell everyone the vehicle isn’t for them. What a waste of comment space.

      Because people who hate EV s are the ones Broke and at home to comment on anything. People that are out making a killing don’t have time however are the people who might buy a 3rd or 4th vehicle which helps make EV’s relevant. They are a toy not a daily driver. Think of a corvette or a boat. If you have cash to burn you can take the chance on buying a toy. If your broke all you can do is comment about how EVs are dumb.
      Being broke is dumb.

    Ben says that there is a lack of physical controls and he guesses that’s what EV people’s like. As someone who is enthusiastic about EV’s I’d say the physical controls are one of the advantages of this car. It has all the basics, stalks, lots of steering wheel controls on the front and back, volume knob, on off button for the screen, knobs for the temperature, toggle switches for the fan and other things. Maybe the car not turning off has something to do with it being new to him but yes, that’s the one physical button it doesn’t have. Not much of a test drive if you don’t take it on the freeway. I test drove the AWD Blazer on the freeway and it did fine, but I would have liked a little more horsepower. Anyone who looks at this car should check out the back seat. I found it uncomfortable in the Blazer due to the plastic piece that’s there for car seats. Looks the same on the Equinox, but I know it doesn’t bother everyone on the Blazer.

    • @Comfort031
      @Comfort031 Před 22 dny

      Exactly. I will never buy a tesla because of the lack of physical buttons. Well that and musk is a complete psycho but even if he wasn’t affiliated with tesla, I would not like having everything controlled by a screen and thus would not buy.

    The base price is supposed to be about $35k , before the federal and or state tax credits. Depending on the state, those tax credits may be stacked. In my state, that's a $10k tax credit.

    Getting the RS2 next week. It doesn't bother me about android and apple maps gone as the new google interphase is much better. You can still download apps for apple and android and see texts and listen to music. The new google system is faster and you can put it on the drivers information screen in front of the steering wheel and free up the entertainment screen for music and other apps. And if you forget you phone then you don't have to worry about maps getting home from a strange place. Tesla and Rivian do the same thing.

    Nice review Ben. I’ll never own an EV. I have a ‘23 Equinox ICE and it’s paid off and it’s reliable. I won’t have to worry about replacing 15k worth of batteries.

    Power switch or key vs automatic on/off.. No new car is positively controlled by its start button to key.. Consider that most cars support remote start.. And won’t engage the starter when the engine is running.. And almost all support automatic start-stop for fuel savings.. So the start button or key is just another bit on the bus. That said, I do like physical switches for the most oft used controls. Switches for on-off devices, knobs for variable things like fans and volume.

    Thanks for an honest review. Prices are high, and unfortunately are never coming down. That's the scam. We used to think that the more people would buy them, the more the prices would go down. It's the complete opposite. Car manufacturers know very well that many are willing to pay ridiculous prices to get their hands on EV's. I say cut the useless electronic crap and they could sell these vehicles for 10 or 15,000$ less.

    Not feeling 47K for what I see. Even after playing the Federal tax credit game. Cargo is a bit weak especially factoring in that cargo hatch slope. Small side mirrors. Should have waited until 2025 to release this so it "should" have a NACS port. How many 1LT's is Chevy really going to make? A '25 / '26 Bolt EUV with a LFP battery could really undercut the price of this.

  • @kaileysweeney4240
    @kaileysweeney4240 Před měsícem

    I own the Bolt EUV. I think the Equinox is a huge step up in exterior looks. The interior and interior controls are very familiar. The new digital) gauge cluster is different and it’s fine. I am sorry to hear that there is no Apple CarPlay available. There is an improvement in range, charging time, (Everything that comes along with the new Ultium EV architecture and storage space, otherwise it is very close to the EUV. At $47,000, the price is too high. If expect there the AWD RS 2 model with sunroof and Super-cruise to cost that much , but not the fwd version. I expect the price to drop since the Blazer has incentives to bring the price down to Equinox levels. In any case, I’m waiting to see how the new Bolt shapes up. I expect it to be have a lot in common with the Equinox, hopefully at a lower price.

    Ele transport is like adopting a problem child. After a few short years of ownership and the hollow feeling like your always down to a quarter of a tank, It transforms into a hot potato you want off your hands. Maintenance cost can burn through your vacation plans.
    If a thing goes wrong you can't even limp back to the repair shop. It's a burden more than a pleasure. If you want to handle parts per million pollutants of breathable air that dwarf carbon emissions. You have to look at the elephant in this room called manufacturing recapture technology first? For millions of years Dinosaur produced methane was some how interpreted into earths engine . Where calculative science says it's detriment flys in the face of any ongoing animal kingdom's survivable environment? Manufacturing is bigger than tail pipes offenses. Ele autos produce twice the tonnage of carbon just to build one as opposed to the combustion auto. And ele power is produced using 65% fossil fuels? You have to drive ele autos 90k miles just to zero out the manufacturing foot print. It's not time for this all at once push. It's time for a little bit of all the pushes. If the air quality becomes too pure.. Forest Fires can become weekly events. There's no smoking near oxygen.... All points of view shouldn't be ignored. Polar ice core samples of over 100 k years of earths history do not agree with the current pontifications around climate change. Climate change is always happening and never not. Always has and never didn't ever. Earth has more mechanisms of balance than scientist know . We need to stop all pollutions accordingly no matter what the stock market prefers not point it all on tail pipes . Ha. But what do I know? I feel like we're buying lcd screens that you talk too and talk back and lighted dashboards. So much of what's advertised we already are holding in our hands? How much of your working hours commerce should we put into our transportations just to get there? It's that we are owned by technology ever deeper every day. Tech chains. Ha it is what it is. But soon enough everyone forgets and your arguments become fiction.
