With the current market, EVs need to be not just better, but CHEAPER
They need to match their ice counterparts but all these brands charging $10k-$15k more for their EVS example, Kia ev9 in top trim is $20k more than the equivalent Telluride
@@Carfan678 Chinese EVs are cheaper, its US Government's protectionism that is keeping consumers away from the good stuff.
@@WheelsUnlimitedGlobal No one with a brain is going to trust a Chinese manufactured and owned car brand as a US citizen.
I don't think EVs need to become "better" for people to want to buy them, I think they need to become LESS EXPENSIVE. A coworker let me drive his Ioniq 6, and I loved it. But I can't afford anything over $40,000.
Have you tried the Chevy Bolt EUV? A co-worker said you could get them for under $30K right now with the $7500 tax credit. If you’re just looking for an around towner, it could work with your budget.
@@warpedgeoid Yeah - the Bolt is a good value. It's not very exciting, though. The problem is that between equally exciting ICE vehicles and EVs, the EV is currently way more expensive. I recently bought a Ford Maverick hybrid, and it's great. I'm thinking when I pay it off, maybe that Rivian R3 will be available for around $35K. I like that one alot.
@@warpedgeoid the main issues with that Chevy Euv it doesn't have a heat pump and it rolls back on hills
I just got this vehicle and my only quibble so far is this 57K vehicle did not come with a rear cargo cover that will cost me $110. Although I did get 3500 worth of options for free with the Launch Edition credit so I guess that makes up for it. 😁 I also got a killer lease deal. So happy to be back in an SUV coming from a 2017 Volt.
We bought a Blazer EV TD a month ago and love it so far. BUT… it is for my wife who previously had a gas Blazer which we really liked and wanted to have a similar size interior. She does 99% of her driving within 20 miles of the house so this fits her needs perfectly and she'll never have to visit a gas station again. I'm keeping my gas car for our longer trips. One thing we learned is miles definitely vary. You will NOT get the 279-300 miles on the highway/interstates driving at 70+ mph. You'll be lucky to get 200 miles, but you can get well over 300+ miles with city driving where speeds are lower and you brake more. The regen works great for local driving.
We bought ours around the same time and with the idea that I would use it to drive to my job which is 60 miles 1 way. It works great but I don’t have the garage 220v outlet yet. Which completely sucks cause we have to take it to the dealership to charge it. It’s free which is nice but having to drive it there several days a week is a pain in the ass. Can’t have the outlet installed until electricians come out and install a larger breaker box with more room which I wasn’t aware of before we bought the car. Anyway I love driving it and it’s already saved us a ton of money on gas that’s for sure. Even got a 10 year 165,000 mile warranty which is plenty I believe for it. We ain’t selling it so I wasn’t worried. If it craps after the warranty well then oh well.
Keeping speed to 70 or less will help range a ton. Wind resistance is a killer.
@@pioneer7777777 especially with these bad boys, they are extremely wide!!
The new equinox has the same battery and awd system but its a few inches shorter and can be had with just fwd for a cheaper entry price great job chevy!!!!
GM finally came to play with their new lineup, and these are way better than I expected. A little sluggish compared to Tesla but with a better ride.
Bought one late May and I love it!
Insane Blazer Ben !! ❤❤
what is this color called
Wow what a clean car 😂
What is the name of that color?
Could you say the price any faster? I didn’t catch that.
Regardless...GM's styling inside and out is better than ever...gotta support the BIG 3..period.
Tesla, GM, and Ford ALL THE WAY.
Dodge belongs to Stallantis. They’re a foreign corporation now.
Not much price differentiation between this Chevy EV and the Cadillac Lyriq. Doesn't make much sense. Looks like the Equinox EV will be the sweet spot.
The AWD Lyriq is the sweet spot. The AWE Blazer EV is disappointing except for the SS which will be more than the Cadillac at launch.
I love our Chevy blazer, but to be honest if I could go back I would have waited for the Chevy blazer ev ss. Those things look badass!!! But they I’d be charging it everyday because I’d be flooring it everywhere, so maybe I’m best with what I have.
Current lease incentives on the Blazer EV make it a compelling choice. I drive a 5 year old Alfa Romeo Stelvio which I am considering trading in for a Blazer because i dont drive much and never roadtrip, so range anxiety is not an issue for me. I don’t need 300 plus HP either. However i do want my car to be comfortable and quiet and I’m not brand loyal or married to the idea of always having a luxury car.
Buy a used Chevy Bolt, they're not much different in range or charging time and cost much less. They also have the same rear cargo space with the seats down. Yeah they don't look as good, but it's a great car. Yes, I'm biased, we have one.
I’ll buy this any day over a stupid Tesla. Teslas look like trash to be honest. They are dime a dozen and everywhere. I’d rather be seen in the Chevy blazer
How do you rate it compared with the Mach-E?
I did a test drive yesterday and the interior of the Blazer is just nicer than the Mach-E. Think the Mach-E is a bit closer in size to the Model Y.
@@warpedgeoidI have the Chevy blazer and I first really liked the ford Mach-e GT specifically because they are fast. Then once I seen these blazer evs I loved the way they looked. If I could go back I would have tried to get the blazer EV SS. Those things look badass, two tone and super fast. I have to be happy with what I have 😢lol
It's Ford...... 👎
do they jack up the price because they give you a 7500 dollar incentive?
Ok, take us back to 70’s, Chevy, with the column shifter. 😢
What do you gain by starting off with “I was right! No one wants EVs” followed by “this thing is amazing!”…?
You don’t think it’s maybe because no one can afford a $58,000 vehicle? Or maybe because charging infrastructure is lacking?
Both for sure. We all know EV is the future of the vehicle
It will get better, as far as the infrastructure. For now like the salesperson explained to me, electric vehicles are best used for close city driving. I agree, I use mine for driving no more then 100 miles away. It has a 300 mile range which I don’t believe is accurate because once you get up to highway speeds it seems like it uses more battery and faster. But I prefer to drive it over my other gas vehicles because 1) it’s super fast and responsive 2) it has so much cool tech in it. 3) has saved me gas money already after owning it 2 months. 4) rides awesome! The suspension is so nice and soft. It’s the Chevy blazer ev by the way. Never a Tesla for me 😊
You strike me as basic, but ok.
I’m in the market for EV. Like the blazer but it doesn’t have the super cruise on the models at the dealerships. Maybe don’t need it.
Cadillac Lyriq can be had for like $5000 more right now and the Cadillac absolutely has both Super Cruise and 500hp AWD.
@@warpedgeoidI should have test drove and explored the lyriq before I bought my Chevy blazer ev but I know my wife didn’t want to go over 60k and were under that even with extra 10 year all around warranty. I still drive by the dealerships and have seen the lyriqs and looked in the windows. Apparently they are built on a similar platform as the Chevy blazers. They are just so darn fancy tho. I would have wanted to check them out but we bought as soon as my wife seen the blazer
Chevys true game changer will be the 35000 dollar equinox ev
I have already looked at the Chevy equinox Evs at my dealership. They had one the other day! It was beautiful, I love the Chevy blazer ev front and back tho but the wheels and sleek look of the equinox I was like wow!! They are also cheaper than my blazer ev.
Make it 500 miles range and you find your customer !!
You don't have 500 miles of range with a gas Blazer. Both the ICE and BEV get about the same range. Charge at home and the BEV is better.
Can’t please everyone 🤷
The '24 Chevy Blazer EV is one of the best-looking vehicles in the world.... so why Karl Malone Chevrolet would send a demo out for a video review looking like this (car is filthy on the outside and even the inside needs attention) is beyond me.
better and cheaper. cost too much. ev is supposed to counter gas prices but if you have to spend 60k instead of 10k on gas that is just stupid
If they made EVS affordable and had at least 400mi and can charges under 30min then maybe people would want them more!
Nah, can’t please everyone. There will always be picky people picking and choosing reasons not to like Evs
Perception and reality: Where do you get your data that ev are not selling??? Tesla y is the number one selling car in america. And maybe worldwide in 2024, the revenue in the Electric Vehicles market is projected to reach $623.3b with inceease year over years. 40 % of cars sold in china are electric. Mind blowing to keep hearing electric car are not selling ...maybe if you leave in the middle of Kentucky they are not. Norway...europe everyone is buying electric cars it is projected that by 2028 china and US will lead.
Way too slow even in sport mode. Waiting for the SS.
Perfect for me, I don’t need anything that blows my socks off. Get the Tesla if you want that, just unecessary because 1 you will never use that in city driving. And with the way these vehicles are if you drove like that all the time it’s a waste you will be charging everyday.
Why are you acting like this is the first time you've driven this vehicle? You drove the RS 6 months ago!
czcams.com/video/uDiiXal7mJQ/video.htmlsi=5JPcvTGEBQcxVHy2
You can get a Tesla Model Y for $40K after the tax credit. This is $47K after the credit. If you want to pay an extra $7K for the cockpit and buttons. This looks bigger but the interior and storage space is smaller.
It looks like they might be doing incentives to match the Model Y price. At least near me.
Teslas are ugly lol what’s interesting is people are being laid off at Tesla. Why is this happening if they are so great?
@@kylequintana No one cares if you don't like the looks. That's your choice. Tesla is doing just fine. The Model Y is the number one selling vehicle in the entire world.
@@cerrillosstore3913 lmao that why they are laying off Tesla employees 😂
@@kylequintanaautomation
I think the Chevy Blazer EV is DOA because the Model Y is better and more affordable, but the Equinox EV is positioned much better to succeed. I have no idea why GM is slow-rolling the Silverado and Sierra EV. However, their survival will depend on the consumer's willingness to spend nearly $100k for a pickup, which is yet to be determined.
Teslas are ugly, not everyone wants the same crap like Tesla. I’ll pass on Tesla. Like to think outside the box
@@kylequintana excellent point.
I just can't see spending $50k on this or a Mach-E, pay to install a level 2 charger, when you can go buy a Toyota Highlander hybrid for under $50k and not worry about charging infrastructure, etc. etc. The value proposition for going electric isn't there right now for most people in most of the US.
Once you drive an EV, those hybrids and ICE cars feel so jerky and primitive. EVs just produce smooth, efficient power.
@@warpedgeoidyou nailed it. Too many people focus exclusively on the upfront cost of the car. They fail to understand that over the lifetime of the vehicle-costs are the same. But more importantly-EVs are much better cars in every way-with the exception of long road trips.
50k….and another 10-20k for battery replacement down the line. Hard pass. What a joke.
Only model y. Avoid gm hindustan south.
I’ve got a Model Y and test drove a Blazer EV RS yesterday at a local dealer. Everything about the Blazer is better than the Tesla except for power and torque. Compared to GM, the Tesla rides like a wagon.
@@warpedgeoid looks like you are speaking facts....... I am not going to argue.. I am waiting for 2025 hyundai ioniq 5 awd. 84 kwh.
@@ReddylionThe Korean makers are starting to produce really great EVs. China is heating up too, but I’m biased towards GM for subjective reasons.
evs suck they are toys masquerading as cars and trucks for perspective my 22 year old truck will go 465 miles on one tank of gas can tow all day no problems in cold weather and takes all of 5 to 6 minutes to fill up and keep on going I doubt there will be any ev that will last 22 years they are a joke being shoved down our throats
In a couple of years, when battery tech has advanced a bit, there will be no reason to ever own a gas truck. Electric trucks have a lot more power and torque. The only trade-off at the moment is range. Once EV range exceeds 1000 miles on a charge, nobody will want a gas car for daily use. Only car shows and track days.
Devils bargain. EVs are no bueno. Absolutely no practical reason to purchase one rather than a competitor internal combustion engine. Neither value nor performance nor convenience is a plus for the EV. Were it not for gubmint mandates they’d sell far less than now.
Have you ever driven a performance EV? You’ll never feel the same way again about your loud, jerky ICE vehicles. Losing the moving parts from the ICE drivetrain is also a huge boost for reliability.
@@warpedgeoid after I suffer range loss and recharge withdrawal I’m pretty sure the attributes of a BEV would be far outweighed by the negatives. They are not a good value in any practical sense, but you know what they say about a fool and his money. As for “loud, jerky ICE vehicles”, what would those be? My Mercedes diesel sedan that gets 45 mpg at 75 mph and has over 800 miles of smooth, quiet and confident range? Since diesel is now sadly OBE, my next ride will likely be a hybrid.
Towing capacity?
Hybrids yes,,,,full EV no
One of the advantages of EV is removing the 2000 moving parts from the ICE drivetrain. Hybrids have both systems to maintain and to potentially fail.
@warpedgeoid when the EV battery fails it costs as much as the car .
GASOLINE FOREVER!
A literal impossibility based on the finite nature of fossil fuel reserves
They couldnt give me one for free, gas is the way to go.
No EV’S.Just get a V8 Ford. Better than Chevy and Tesla combined
Yes get a ford if you like taking trips to the shop from all the recalls and subpar build quality
@@Invisible1900 I’m pretty sure you are Talking about Hyundai/Kia Products.
Ford is Solid
@DudeDude491 a simple google search illustrates that ford led with most recalls in 2023. Ford is recall central putting you in shops right off the bat. And it looks like they are going to take 2024 as well.
@@Invisible1900 Sir, you are entitled to your Opinion and I do respect your Opinion. But in my case …In my life I have Only owned Ford’s never ever a single issue ever. Knock on Wood.
