  • The 350Z's may all look similar, but they actually can vary quite a bit with features provided from factory.
    In this video we compare 3 different 350Z's all of which are different models.

      andyflow180 Get a service manual like Haynes for your vehicle and start reading it. Also watch the car shows on Discovery channel and the Saturday morning ones. That's what I did as a kid. And try to hang out with experienced people that work on vehicles and ask questions and understand the theory.

      Well my friend, Imagine that in order for me to drive a 350z on Danish roads I will pay around 25-30k euros.
      The car itself (i want a 07-08 HR) will cost me around 15k, and the danish car registration must be one of the craziest in the world, its 100% for low end cars and 150% for more expensive cars. Think about that next time you get a little bit blue about your savings, maybe it will help you ! :D

    NIce video Anthony. Informative for the people who don't know much about these cars with the various trims and options. They only thing I really want to do is upgrade to 06 headlights mostly because I like the larger projectors!
    Looking back I don't know what trim I would have really been looking for when I was searching for mine. When I bought mine I didn't know much about trims etc, but I knew it had a blend of all options I wanted. That was a plus, and the fact that it had such low mileage, and is in flawless condition so that was what made me pull the trigger...
    My 35th anniv has everything, and I love the damn thing! Most of the options I don't use much like the full electronic seats- I couldn't care if they were manual adjust, but the heated seats are nice in the winter or cooler days but even on low they get hot and mostly just use them for the first 5-10 minutes I drive it. The black and tan interior which I really liked as well that you had mentioned in the video. The color caught my eye, and was a unique combo that I liked from the start when I first saw inside. I always put a soft shirt down on the seat to prevent access wear so i don't have to worry about the metal buttons etc on my jeans.
    Keep up the great informative content. I always like to see what your next video featuring 350's will include!

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  Před 8 lety +2

      Ya I've been told the HR doesn't consume any oil, but I was under the impression practically all high compression motors consume some oil typically because of all the pressure in the cylinders and the cars are older now. But I have yet to confirm anything.
      Check the oil is definitely nice on a HR. Changing spark plugs not so much...

      I have a 2004 Z and it's clutch slave failed at 124 K miles. I had all
      the stuff replaced when the clutch was done. Now it feels just like
      the clutch in my my 2014 Infiniti Q60S. The old 350Z has a LOT more
      bottom end torque then the Infiniti's 3.7L engine. BUt the 3.7 in the infiniti
      pulls harder at high RPM's.

No side curtains, Nav nor brembos. for those wanting to know an older model. Although the tan interiors are ugly they don't scratch like the black ones they just get dirty. Cloth seats are also known to rip on the side bolsters, such as mine. Would your basic DE bolt-ons, i.e: Plenum spacer, better headers/downpipe, high-flow cat, less restrictive exhaust, negate the performance difference between the older and newer engines?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  Před 5 lety

      To an extent. Newer engines like the HR are really good stock and have a lot of top end. So a modded and tuned DE vs an HR if the driver's are the same the HR will typically win. If you did forced induction you can beat a stock HR.

He started out showing off the car in full race mode, slamming it from gear to gear but when i had a go in it to see if it was also a daily driver, it was a box of rocks. Every gear i attempted to find with less than 100% effort was just grinding. Didn't buy that car for sure. Later came across an '07 6MT Enth. and it was smooth as butter. Hey I have a 03 350z track. Recently,
    Car starts but after awhile I let it sit and it engine shuts off. No engine codes I have replaced the camshaft sensors couple years ago . Any idea why car is behaving that way?

      @AnthonyJ350  Před 8 lety

      +bombazzwayne cbrwayne Does it only happen at idle? Hot or cold? Umm I don't think these cars have a fuel filter. Just a strainer before the pump.

Anthony says only get it if you want a cruiser, but I've edged similarly modded manuals in my old coupe in Shannonville. Track AND strip, stock tire sizes in PS4S. Uprev throttle mapping helped, but as long as you know its gearing you'll do fantastic. :-)

      @DragoMusivini Před rokem

      @@AnthonyJ350 Actually I have a set of Kinetix High Flow Cats and a Topspeed Pro1 Exhaust....it sounds great. A tune would be a big issue because of the CEL. I live in the lackey CARB state of New York so that says it all. If emissions testing were not an issue I would have done it already. Most of the time the tune requires disabling the rear o2s from what I heard but that would be an automatic fail and the amount of parts on is too little and not worth a tune yet. Also when you get your car tune do you have to pay for a license plus the tune?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  Před rokem

      @@DragoMusivini How does their emissions testing work? Do they scan all the sensors? Or just look for a CEL? I would contact UPREV. Technically tuning is better for the environment because you're getting the car to have the most complete burn possible and run safe.

    • @DragoMusivini
      @DragoMusivini Před rokem

      @@AnthonyJ350 Basically you pull into any approved inspection mechanic shop in NY State. They hook your car up to a Bluetooth device which is in turn connected to a computer. This camera wirelessly reads the data on your ECU and if you have more than one not ready light you're screwed. It can be any one but ONLY one. And as far as what uprev would do is the shop would disable the rear o2 sensors and trick them somehow into believing everything is alright. But once the computer sees the rear o2 sensors are disabled it is an instant fail. Plus when I went to have those parts installed the place I went to....Vinny Ten racing....said I need a tune. I had told them if the check engine light did not come on then I do not want a tune. So they were about to start getting to work and one of his employees hands me the receipt to sign. I noticed in the bottom mid right part of the receipt there was a barely legible with the naked eye paragraph of me basically releasing them from the risk of working on my car....in other words a liability release. I called them on this and the guy said everyone signs this. I said that was not the question I asked. I said is this a liability release to which he replied yes. So I asked him so God forbid someone screws up and blows my engine on the dyno after the install it is not their fault. He said nothing. I told him straight out I do not feel comfortable signing this so if I do not sign this you will not work on my car, to which he replied we cannot. So I said deuces. On top of that when my car is to be tuned can you tell me if I have to pay for a license as well and if so can you tell me why? Also I heard that if I had to reflash back to inspection then I would have to pay for that to to get the same tune back as well?
