Whats the insurance like on it?
I bought mine and it was delivered to me just before Xmas 2008. I'm very happy with it but I don't think I would buy another one unless I had just done a long trip in it and rediscovered the joy of a decent tourer.

You can get paid the biggest bucks and work an easy position as long as you know the right people. Work smart not hard. salvador Vasqez The thing that got me was it doesn't drive like you'd imagine. Depends on your taste and likes. I like a lightweight Boxster type drive...but the 350 is more like a US muscle car than a light track car.

I just bought an o4 base model 350z also 101600 miles..need to replace valve cover gasket right upper ball joint, oil pressure sensor,and rear hatch struts...all else is great..paid 6800.00. Super clean adult owned and been taken very good care of...im well pleased...

The 350z is actually my love interest in car types, not only for the power it’s mostly for the design. Like, mostly the door handles when I was younger that were looking for me really cool. And seemed different from all cars I knew when I was little :3

My 2004 was the first brand new car I ever bought and I still have it. It was single turbo on a stock block for 10 years and just recently finished a build where it is now built internals and a new AAM twin turbo system. I love my Z. They are awesome cars.

I got an 04 g35 (infinity version of the 350z) a couple years ago, i love this car and looking forward to try the g37 or 370z they look amazing
This video is what convinced me to buy a 350z, Has been my pride and joy since, it burns a little oil which you have to keep an eye on but the driving experience is something else.

That's why I'm so glad I went to a technical college for mechanic technology so I can fix my own shit.
LOL, guess what... the 350z is a VERY VERY reliable car. The biggest fix i had done was 10 dollar brush fix for the electric motor for my window. I bought the car with 60k kilometers. Now have 150k kilometers on the counter. So WHAT FIXING ???? It's a japanese car.. not some crap car made in another country that needs fixing.

It all comes down to where you live. And we're talking about normal 1st world countries here. Yes you can save up for a couple of months and buy one even from a minimum wage job if you live on bread and water. In some countries you'll be spending the car's price every year on insurance. Also fuel is literally 5x the price in most of Europe compared to the US. You can calculate with 5x of what you pay with a 3.5l engine.
When you think about it if you don't have a high level really good paying job in those countries nothing more than a Civic is really affordable especially if you're young. It all comes down to your governments regulations regarding cars. It's not the purchase price that's unrealistic, it's owning a car like this at a young age in most of Europe.

Good review. This car is fantastic IMO. Plenty of tire and brakes, 300hp, great manual trans, decent balance, excellent hydraulic steering, etc. I did my flywheel right when I got the car (manditory mod IMO). My only other complaint about the 350 was that the gears are too long, and the VLSD is awful. Kill two birds with one stone on that one with a rear-end overhaul. With a real LSD and shorter final drive ratio you have car that's limited only by your ball size on most roads.
Bought an '07 GT model a few years ago and I've loved it. No it isn't practical or economical but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

Dude, thats the UK. In Germany we pay just about the same prices as you in France for a 350Z - 10k € and more.
Of course you can import a UK car to mainland europe (even easier for you because you have the eurotunnel in your country!), but there are some problems. #1 being the steering wheel on the wrong side.
The other... well, theres a reason used cars are so cheap in the UK. The salty and rainy climate makes them rust much faster than cars in mainland europe.
A neighbour recently got a old BMW from the UK - it had moss growing on it. No matter how hard you neglect your car in France/Germany, its very rare to see that. :D

I had an '03 G35 6MT Sport and absolutely loved it. While the G35 was slightly detuned vs the 350Z it addressed several of the Z's disadvantages discussed in this video. The G35 has usable back seats, good visibility and a much nicer interior. I agree with Alex that the Z is good looking car but I think the G looks much better. In the U.S. anyway, either can be difficult to find that haven't been trashed but there are some out there and they represent a terrific value, cheap to buy, cheap to run and tons of fun.

I honestly think affordability is very personal. As a 20 year old buying a sports car isn't impossible. Pricing at 7k-ish on the road is affordable for most students who are studying in 1st world countries. This car is priced at 80k$ in where I live and minimal wedge is 5$ an hour. Affordability is depending on where you live and not your age. This is base on my opinion. cheers

Totally agree with your take on the 350Z. Luckily, my early-2004 roadster was produced before Nissan ill-advisedly softened the suspension and retuned the engine for more HP at the expense of torque. It =is= mostly about the torque and seat-of-the-pants driving experience, but putting the top down tranforms it into a self-propelled park bench -- perfect for beautiful, sunny Colorado, USA. They'll have to pry this thing out of my dying hands.
If I had the money I would totally buy a 350z or even a 370z and modify it. Great looking cars, fun to drive, easily modifiable

unless you're always hanging out with more than 1 person and the other people don't have a car it sucks, but for the most part 2 seats is cool. I haven't had any times where I wanted four seats in my car instead of two
Pros:
You never get picked to drive the group of friends around.
Cons:
Not much space behind the seat.
Glove boxes are behind the seat. So you have to give the cop a disclaimer before getting your insurance papers
You only can bring one person in your car
If the trunk is full, then the only place for you bag is the front seat
Passengers can not recline seat far, so road trips are horrible for them
There are many other pros, but not related to the 2 seats. Such as the speed and braking of this car.

Watched this video when it first released, finally got my 350z last week :)
After watching this video last year I went and bought a 2006 350z for 4200. It is everything you said and more, I use it daily to go to work and went travelling as well. It is practical indeed but not exactly easy to drive, I used to race in my youth so I have a bit of experience in car control but I doubt most people would be able to drive it without the traction control. Despite that and the 24 mpg on average this is an exceptional car way better than my previous drive ( Cayman 2004) which, albeit more refined, felt detached and boring compared to the Zed. Thank you for this video!
I wonder people saying it burns fuel are they using 87 octane. You need to use 93 thats what the car is tuned for i have no trouble with fuel had bmw 325i burns about the same
143K miles on my 350z and everything still going strong. Water pump went out, and about to have to replace clutch (doing flywheel since labor is the same either way too)... Everything else is doing great although it's probably lost some efficiency since 2004. I'm super lucky to be nearby a Z specialty Mechanic who is incredible (shoutout to Wireworks Performance in Fort Worth, TX). It is a really cool car but after you drive it for a long time you will want wider tires and wheel upgrade, brakes, suspension, motordyne intake and exhaust mods, seats, clutch and flywheel, tune, and potentially some cosmetics or interior work. I'd even go as far as to say some aero might help a bit at really high speeds and if you want to go for a grand tourer some sound insulation material would be nice because it's got a lot of road noise. Be ready to replace the trunk shocks every 2 years they go out fast. If you have someone who is really good with them they are a lot of fun to have if you like to custom build out your own car. As is for stock is pretty good. My first car was a BMW 3 series and that was a better built car but an 03 is too low on power. I miss the engineering and quality of that car as well as the daily qualities and the space and the trunk and the BMWness. That doesn't make me any less glad I have my 350z now. I hope to keep the Z and keep it as a pure car and fully built one day.

I’ve daily’d my 06 Nissan 350z for 4 years and put about 50,000 miles on it since I bought it . Sitting around 135,000 miles right now . I beat it up on the highways on my way to and from work , but do the general maintenance and it’s never had any mechanical problems . Just had to replace the drivers side window motor / drivers side outside door handle . But with 135,000 miles . That’s to be expected lol

Finally got my 2007 313hp 350z for 11000 Swiss Francs (10000€)!!!! I just found the convertible model that looks amazing when open in sunny days, i've already bougth a full Invidia Gemini exhaust used for around 1400$ and now sound really good , i think that in the next months i would like to put a lighter flywheel and a sporty clutch for less than 1000$ and then would be perfect for me!!! thanks for the review!

350Z is such an underrated car, I own an 08 manual and it's great, I actually had it for a few years, so I paid over 9Gs, and with the minor mods, I actually beat and keep up with most V8s. I'm shooting for a turbo, there going for like 8500 dollars and up, this will put my Z in a Skyline category. I recommend it with internals.

Yea no, those turbos are actually powerful some of them, but you can't adjust them, also you have to rig up to many hoses and tubes and need to engineer the installation your self because of the parts that do not fit your car regardless of what they say. So I'll be patient, no choice.

Peirre Gale - If you're capable and are mechanically inclined in doing so, I say go for gold dude, If you're already installing internals, that alone will make your car handle a beating also it will make it that it can handle turbos that are off the chain, with psi levels upward to 30 on up without blowing the motor, if your not getting a turbo, make sure you get the tune so you can rev it past 8000 rpm without a problem.
I bought my 350z GT as my first car for 13k couple months back and i absolutely love it, It's not just a car it's a lifestyle.
I bought a 2003 G35 Coupe when I was 21 a decade ago and had a blast with it. It was terrifying to drive in the snow, but otherwise it was a lot of fun. Drove it cross country, met my now wife while I had it, and cruised around with her a lot. We never got the Skyline in the US, and while the G35 is technically the Skyline outside the US, it was my consolation for not being able to own an R34 GTST.

If you listen closely he's describing a stock GTR all the way up to the price and HP, not this particular one. So saying IT has 660hp is misleading.

I’ve had my 07 350z GT since I was 23 and I’m 29 now. It’s a great car, always tunes heads as it’s black with onyx wheels with the orange gold brembo Calipers. Driving the hills of north Devon the mpg i get is around 25 but the drives I take it on it’s great fun twisty roads. When I got the car I was paying £800 a year insurance and now I pay £380 but being a 3.5 v6 the car tax is £550 a year but in my eyes it’s one of the only bad points of the car.
