If withdrawal is the indicator for addiction, are antidepressants addictive?
The body becomes dependent on them, and withdrawal symptoms are severe. Doctors don't hesitate to prescribe antidepressants, especially for pain. They also can cause suicidal thoughts.

I always get a laugh when people absolutely will not take a pain pill because they are addictive, and I think “ you mustn’t have ever come off of an antidepressant !! “

Cannabis/thc actually allows me to cut my pain med intake by 1/3 to 1/2 and reduces my pain intensity tremendously. It is great anti inflammatory and alot of people only get enough pain medicine to "manage" the symptoms so sometimes they may need more due to increased pain or just the simple fact of chronic pain is so exhausting and some people just need a complete break from it sometimes like a vacation from a job working hard labor. Dont be so quick to judge a patient solely based on literature you need to know the individual and ask questions. Why do you think you need the increase? What are your goals if the increase helps your pain? You can even ask if they just need a break from the pain and alot patients will then be honest
How can people say with a straight face that they KNOW that cannabinoids don't help with pain if they've never tried to use it to alleviate their pain. The blanket description of medical cannabis users as abusers or addicts is insulting. Doctors act like there is a one size fits all description of pain patients. Not every person using cannabis is trying to get high much the same way most pain patients are not getting a high from their prescription. This person's statements are prejudice at best. He should try looking at some of the studies showing the benefits of medical cannabis and perhaps educate himself on the current understanding amoung addiction specialists that the most prevalent gateway substance is ALCOHOL!
The gateway drug argument died when the truth surfaced in legalization!

They compliment each other and provide different mechanisms for relief.
Mabye some prehypertension from low cbd high thc strains but nothing too significant should occur and this is usually because a patient hasnt smoked before or hasnt smoked in a while . I think the long term anti inflammatory effects of the cannibis will actually be more beneficial to the cardiovascular system as well as a neuro protectant
