Did you use the same speakers for the doors that you used for the rear? Love the Silvia bro
Juts for anyone else out there who may come across this issue, Did you have to bend the rear parcel shelf factory speaker locating tabs so the aftermarket ones could seat correctly ? there are two small locating tabs that sit up just beside the mounting screw holes. I also used the factory connectors off the stock speakers and solder them onto the new speakers so I didnt have to hack off the factory connector
Are Japan 240s and US 240s have the same color coated wires?
Hey man wanted to know did yuh use the aftermarket brackets? Meaning yuh didn’t needs to buy nothing else the stereo kit yuh bout came with the brackets and it was good to go? Asking for my brother lol
so to be clear you replaced front two speakers on the door cards and the two rear?
Hi, i have a technical quistion....if you are putting new speakers on your 25 year old s14,dont you want to change the original cables from the speakers, wouldn't it make a big differance to sound quility?
and also, what a bout the small front speakers on eye height ?
Can we get an update on how repairs went? How you got the insurance to work with you?
I'm trying to remove my headunit but it seems to be wedged or something? Tried releasing the 2 mechanisms on the side with thin blades but it still won't budge, removed plenty of headunits before and haven't had this problem, any ideas? cheers
hmm not quite sure I fully understand. Are you trying to get the 2 mounting brackets on the side off or are you trying to pull the head unit out of the dash? If you could timestamp on the video what part you are stuck at I could better assist you! :)
@@akiomoto2107 thanks for your reply, I'm trying to pull the headunit out of the dash, it has a little bit of give maybe about a cm on the left hand side, do I need to remove the trim that's around the ac, headunit, ash tray ect first? (trim at 5:18) and do I need to release both the top screws holding the bracket in, in order to remove the trim? the trims pretty fragile so I'm worried I might snap it which is why I haven't tried yanking on it yet haha, just thought I'd check with you that's what I do, thanks again!
@@eilo4213 No problem! So make sure you have the trim piece around the shifter removed, the trim piece around the AC vents removed, and the trim piece you are talking about can stay on. So after you have the Vent and Shifter trim pieces removed make sure to remove the 2 screws at ( 4:34 ) and then take out the actual ash tray and remove the hidden screw at ( 4:45 ). Once you have that screw out there should be 2 more screws near the bottom of the unit near the shift area ( left and right like the Top screws near the vent but this time at the bottom. ) Should be a total of 5 screws! Once those 5 screws are out make sure you have the shifter back and I wiggled my head unit out going left right up and down so I could break it free without destroying anything lol.
I hope that helped out a little bit! If you end up figuring it out be sure to update us incase anyone else is also having a similar problem!
Thanks
- Akio
@@akiomoto2107 Thanks so much for your time and help that's very imformative, I'll let you know how I get on!
does it work for s15 also?
Yes!! The process should be very similar!!
I have everything commected(same car) and it worked then the next day the stereo just won’t turn on at all. I checked fuses too.
That's really weird! Im curious if some of the connections on the wiring harness are loose. Be sure to update us if you find out a fix the the problem!
@@akiomoto2107 got it figured out 😂😂 it was a fuse. I was just checking one side instead of both on the fuse. Didn’t know you were supposed to till now 💀💀💀
@@Jorge_maggie OMG lol 😂 😆 at least it was something easy like that though!
@@akiomoto2107 you live in japan?
@@Jorge_maggie no I live in the US, however, my father is from Japan!
Do you have a link to the head unit?
Did you find one?
What steering wheel is that?
Its a Nardi 350mm black perforated with red stitching steering wheel!!
Hello what is Speaker diameter
On the S14 it is 6.5 inch front and rear!
@@akiomoto2107 similar process for the 6.5S?
Don’t butcher ur factory harness use and adapter harness
I cant believe you just cut into your harness 😑
