      Whoever WINS the title, be that Arsenal or City, WILL have been the better side over the course of the season, because they WILL have won MORE league games ..... whoever you support, you cannot argue with that .. the stats, facts, and league table simply dont lie!
      Any team can go through a season playing entertaining, attacking football, West Ham did it for donkeys years in the days of Hurst, Moore and Peters, Spurs have been entertaining in past seasons, so have Brighton more recently .... but, if you fail to win trophies, all it does is make you good to watch .... without trophies, what good is it???
      He's right about City not being quite as clinical and fluent as they once were, nor have they had the best of seasons as regards their usual performance and playing standards ... but they are still in the top two in the league table for good reason, they possess consistency, quality players, and a winning mentality ... even at 'half pelt', they are still a really dangerous opponent for ANY team!

    Have Arsenal had better performances inside their games than City (how they control games, their defense and attacking prowess, the eye test etc)? As a City fan I would have to agree, and fair play to them as they look like a well oiled machine while City look a bit more disjointed and chaotic on the pitch.
    For me, a lot of City's structural issues (specifically defense) is down to Pep new high line for which he does not have the right players to execute it and hence, there have been so many defensive issues: worst defense vs the counter in the PL; conceded more goal this season with 6 games to go than the entirety of the last 3 previous seasons; nearly every team we play, regardless of how good or bad they might be, they always are given legit chances to score against us on the counter given our absurdly high line. Remember, last season Pep tried playing Walker as a wingback to disastrous effect, especially in the NU game, and he then scrapped it. Opting to keep a flat back 4 against very attacking minded teams and going with the inverted CB for most other games. We have the same defense as last season, but what didnt work with Walker last season, Pep has decided to do it anyway while pushing the rest of the line much higher than last season. As a result, we always look shaky at the back and are conceding far more chances. It is down to Pep and his refusal to adapt it properly given we don't have the right players for as evidenced by our stats.
    Our poor transfer window is another issue - the board completely bottled it allowing 45GA to walk out the door in Gundo and Mahrez and not replacing with, or even coming to replacing it with proper players. Total GA from incoming players is 25GA so on that alone, City have a net loss of 20GA, and when you throw KBD out for 1/2 the season, there's another 20GA for a total of 40GA before the season even began.
    But at the end of the day, it is all about who wins the most games and drops the fewest points over a 38 game season. Regardless of the eye test, whichever team has won the most games, wins the league in practical application. Based on how well Arsenal are playing, they should win the league, but a few minor mistakes cost them which is why, City have the title in their hands even though on the eye, it doesnt look like that should be the case.

    • @pratikroy227
      @pratikroy227 Před 20 dny

      There's a lot of truth to what you have spoken but I will say this is the same defense that had been rock solid last season during our treble run. I don't think pep changed much if anything with how he plays and with his system during his tenure with us. Injuries has been a big part of it another would be a sudden loss of form of Ruben Dias who is unrecognisable if you have watched him last 2 season. Yes ofcourse Gundo and Mahrez was two very big misses but they both wanted to leave and you know Pep's motto we don't keep players that are unhappy that's bad for team unity. About our incoming I would give both Matheus Nunes and Doku time to settle in as this is their first season remember Mahrez needed a season to show his talents.
      I am more disappointed with Grealish's output so far if anything. Haaland despite leading the race of goalscorers anyone watches him will see he is not the kind of striker we are going to thrive with aka penalty box striker. We need someone like Kun (Aguero) who is good at link up play can drop deep has low center of gravity to take on defenders and ofcourse more clinical than Haaland (He has missed the highest big chances this season in PL that's defeating Nunez that's some feat and not good kind).
      Our season would have been still great if we did beat Real like we should have we had the chances late (Phil air kicked a tap in and KDB one on one with keeper failed to hit the target after scoring) and Real didn't even try to play the game they played like prime Burnley and ofcourse despite Ederson saving the first penalty and us scoring after that bernardo and Kova took 2 disastrous one.
      All in all if we get it done in PL and win FA Cup it's still a decent season better than any other PL club by a stretch so I wouldn't be too worried if that's how it ends.

    • @astrothelad
      @astrothelad Před 20 dny

      yeah it just comes down to you don't win the trophy for being "best" nor should you really...otherwise football would be even more predictable than it already is. maybe arsenal can nick it...city have definitely gotten some serious breaks this season due to lack of easy finishing (forest, chelsea, etc.), bad decisions (liverpool and others) so maybe it will finally even out a bit, but you never really know and that's what makes it fun.

    Arsenal have played some really attractive football, and generally winning football too, nobody is denying that ....... but the bottom line is that they HAVE to win MORE games than City by close of play in May to actually WIN the title, otherwise what good is it????
    If Arsenal DO win it then, as a City fan, i will be the first to stand up and applaud them .... they have played some great stuff, been good to watch, scored bags of goals, and will definitely have deserved it.
    However should City win it for a record 4th time running, then they will deserve immense credit for achieving an astonishing feat, and one in which they will 'stand alone' ...... NONE of the great managers or teams throughout the entire course of footballing history, including Fergie, Wenger, Paisley, Busby, Clough, Shankly, to name but a few, could ever manage it.

      Arsenal Parked the bus an yet Richy STILL couldn't score against them; if Richy r so gr8, why didn't they score against a PARKED Arsenal?
      Arsenal hav had Haaland/Fod-ders in their pocket all this season.
      4pts taken off Cheaty this season plus the Com' victory over ulot.

      @janysmahoney1271 city are cheats, but so are arsenal. Stop pretending you're victims. You robbed liverpool and you robbed spurs twice and the moment you got a controversial decision against Newcastle (WHICH WAS CORRECT BTW) your team and manager start a huge media frenzy by blaming the refs. Disgusting

      Chill man an look forward t Cheatys forthcoming trial ; all clubs get some sort of dubious ref descisions along the way but NOT 115(off the pitch)charges worth.
      Arsenal( an other clubs) on pitch ref decisions r NOT the same as Cheatys 'cooking the books' an landing them in court nx season due t suspicious accounting.
