- Let’s jump into the Marine Air Conditioning system. In this video we cover system basics, perform a complete control system upgrade and replacement. The importance of strainer maintenance and upkeep is covered, and we share the worst strainer we have encountered to date.
If you need to leave a marine AC system running, be sure to cycle it every few days, so the seawater can drain and the organisms in it die off. If you leave it running all the time, you will have a problematic growth buildup over time. This may result in the need for a Barnacle Buster flush, or possibly physical removal of the buildup in extreme cases.
We hope you enjoy this video and find some useful information to keep your system going. Since we did not cover everything exhaustively, feel free to comment or ask any question you have. We are happy to try to help you solve any issues you are having.

Very nice video! Beautiful boat!
Thank you! Hope you found it informative.
Hi Xavier and Cinnamon, I have thoroughly enjoyed the 65c videos this year. Great content! Wishing you Happy and Prosperous 2024. Looking forward to next episode. I enjoy your maintenance and small project items, so keep them coming. Working on my ‘81 Hatt 43c with 6v92TTA, so anything either the DDs or ER maintenance is great!
Wishing you a Happy New Year as well, thank you for joining us. We really should do a Detroit specific episode as their are some nuances a newer owner can benefit from for sure. We have barely mentioned the life-raft and other measures - good suggestions.
Great video. Happy Thanksgiving! 🛥️
One request: don’t forget to wipe the camera lens before filming. 📸
Thank you very much, happy T-day to you as well. Yes, we had some weird lighting issues and didn't notice until editing so we could not replace the clips.
That is the one system that I have yet to get working on our boat.. but then again we are up on Lake Champlain and only see a few hot days a season .. That was some clogged up.
Give a shout if you get stumped. We are here for you.
Ive got marinaire systems. Theyve got heat and dehumidifier mode. Very nice units but theyre the only type ive used. Does the cruiseair offer heat as well?
Hello there. Yes, and I looked up a couple MarinAire schematics; looks like those and CruiseAir operate in similar fashion, using a reversing valve to have both a heat and AC mode.
