This session of the SIR-CLI Fighters Journal Club featured presentations on Type B aortic dissection, medical management of peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia, and management of calcified peripheral arterial disease via intravascular lithotripsy. which are key vascular topics that were designed to help VIR trainees improve their understanding of key vascular service lines. Each presentation provided an overview of topics essential for trainees to better understand the involved disease processes and how they are clinically or surgically managed by vascular specialists. Each of the presentations also highlighted a key landmark clinical trial related to the topic to give the viewer a better understanding of the evidence, while explaining how the studies were implemented. The session was moderated by Dr. Taylor, a VIR-trained vascular expert who shared key pearls with the audience about the implementation of vascular disease management into clinical practice.
