What type of diet is recommended after tip procedure?
This is serious stuff but You managed to hold my attention and I found myself laughing several times with your humour too. Thanks
Excellent description of basic IR instruments. Thanks a Lot for the effort.
Any specialists you recommend?
damn so an IR and a patent holder.... said it like it was nothing bro
This has absolutely no relevance to what I am studying but it’s certainly fascinating lol The skin is so stretchy!
Eating fatty foods does NOT cause fatty liver. To much sugar and carb intake leading to insulin resistance causes fatty liver disease.
Why there's no surgical gloves ?!
They do have surgical gloves. They wear two layers, a colorful layer under and a cream layer on top. The one you see is the cream tone one
Love IR and these specialist are amazing at their jobs. They do so much. I loved watching them work and circulating for those doctors and residence.
Excellent
As someone with cystic fibrosis hate and love this thing
This is the modified Seldinger technique because the original seldinger punctured through the vessel on both sides (double-wall puncture)
I had a port there for 6 years (one year longer than normal but it have constant blockages in the final year). After removing it i suffered a thrombosis of the SVC due to the tube rubbing the vein and causing damage. It was 2cm x 3cm. We started warfarin and struggled with my INR so i demanded that I be switched to Rivaroxaban and the clot healed. I’m now running out of peripheral veins to the point that an ultrasound guided cannulation caused my hand to go number and blood backed up in my arm because my veins are literally shit. The back up cause a migraine during IV antibiotics and I had constant nausea for 2 weeks. I need another port but i only need IVABs yearly so doctors wont allow me to get one.
I’m almost a year in remission. Ports are fabulous and I cannot wait to get it out!!
How did you choose IR as a field ? How did you learn about it / prepare as a med student?
Have been scared over the thought of having one put in. Now that I've seen one put in has left me grossed out, an still not sure if I'm going to do it
Do you need to hold on the subcutaneous Fragmen injection, bleeding....
nah u squeeze it untill if dries off
I had my port removed today, but I never really understood how it had gone into the vein in the first place. A great video that really helps you visualize how it works.
My mom just gotten diagnosed with gastric cancer. I am so torn and scared. But I got to be brave for my mom and keep her strong through this journey. She's getting her port put in right now.
I get my port placed in the morning… I was curious 😮
Excellent
Just wondering,, shouldn't you mask completely cover your nose so you are not breathing on the sterile field?
Thank you that was excellent
Just experienced this procedure and I must say I'm so far impressed and grateful to have been able to get it
I had a tips procedure about 20 years ago, and only now are my specialists looking into whether I require a revision. Thanks for the very clear and concise video. Kindest regards Steve. 🤓 🇦🇺
Hlo sir can you Please tell me How long it takes to build up Ascitic fluid after TIPS procedure , My father 's health is not Good
It can be a week or sometimes a few weeks.
Chronic pain costs the united States directly or indirectly about a trillion dollars. These researchers and doctors are garbage at their jobs and haven't had a breakthrough in twenty years
I was then brought to a recovery room waited about an hour I was then given general anesthesia and had the kidney stone removed.
I had this procedure done in a hospital in New Jersey, a shot of morphine was put in my hand, without being sedated. or given general anesthesia they put the needle and tube in my back.
I’m getting my port for chemo today. This helps me manage my anxiety by demystifying the procedure.
Very inspiring !! Thanks
Nice !
My dad had a ivc filter put in and had a cardiac arrest hours later
Thank you
Thankyou for this! It was so uncomfortable getting my port placed, being able to feel everything but not see and not know what was going on ☹️
3:21 why is is that when I cut myself on the job, it bleeds like crazy but you can cut a long incision with almost no bleeding? I want some of that magic.
I had one when I was 17 with cancer in 2017. Happy I don’t got those cancer blues no more..
After the drain has been removed, can you still lose pus from the drainage hole?
Yes, it will continue to drain until the source of the initial abcess has healed or the drain site closes.
I have to have this procedure on Tuesday so nervous
Thank for the education. I am having TIPS done in 2 weeks. Despite several talks with the IR teams and the surgeon I still like to do my own homework. I feel safe now because in this video I have been explained everything said. This is good to watch and I’ll recommend it to others as I can.
Just had tips, for chronic portal hypertension without cirrhosis. Procedure went well but have pain in incision areas and generally feeling unwell. Definitely not an easy recovery like everyone makes it sound but still minimally invasive
Excellent presentation with all relevant information packed concisely.
very good video of showing the day in the life, much respect for these individuals 😎
How long a decompensated cirrhosis patient live having CTP 7 and meld 16 if given Tips.
Sir my tmg pien, my yous madcen no good, injections yous go pien please sir my Bangladesh
I Know I ll love IR.
I searched and searched to find a video that showed exactly how the port was placed. I have never had a surgery and I was so scared not only having been diagnosed with Cancer but having this immediate surgery. THANK YOU
This is nice but maybe talking to the camera instead of reading off the screen would have been kinda nice
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
My port flushed but doesn’t always give blood back. And when I sleep on my side sometimes it feels like the catheter is sticking my heart. I finished chemo 2 weeks ago but I’m told it has to stay in for a year!
thanks for showing us how these are inserted. i was a pcu rn & always found central lines incredibly helpful in reducing the amount of times people needed to be stuck for blood draws, not to mention getting people pressors or large amounts of meds. i will have my own soon for monthly ivig for hypogammaglobulinemia.
