Having lived in 13 homes over the last 35 years, lighting is always paramount to “finishing” the feel/ambiance of a home. It changed with every home d/t ceiling heights, window and room sizes. Would truly appreciate your style guides for lighting as well as lamp shades. Thank you for sharing your gift!

I absolutely love your style and the information you share - I am not a professional designer but love to decorate. I have actually been to High Point several times and it’s where I purchased my curved sofa and many other pieces over 15 years ago and now it’s trending again. There is so much to see and I absolutely love it! You are a very classy lady and I appreciate you sharing!

I want to know how to place the tv. You mentioned that you like to keep the fireplace as the focal point and not placing the tv on top of the fireplace (which I absolutely agree with). But i always have a hard time to understand where to place the tv, since nowadays our lives revolve around the tv, how do we incorporate that in our design ?

People are likely to regret those heavily veined marbles unless they buy extremely high-quality marble and use them sparingly. I remember those heavily veined marble surfaces from decades earlier, and most were eventually removed because they appeared so very dated. A few exceptions, of course, but most appeared extremely dated after a while. I've seen so many in Paris apartments that are just timeless no matter how heavily veined they are. I rarely encounter that in other cities, outside of Paris, London, and Manhattan. Also, you need a truly gorgeous, complimentary hardwood floor to warm that marble up, otherwise, it can feel like an echo chamber or, if the marble is white/light grey, an ice palace.
The wise thing to do with trends is to incorporate small items you can inexpensively replace, and even then to use them very sparingly.
Boucle is not to be used if you have cats, dogs, or children. Boucle can painfully rip out your cat's claws and your dog's nails just from them stepping on it. Boucle will catch on the setting of your diamond rings, tennis bracelets, necklace clasps (i.e. if you lie down on a boucle sofa), bracelets, and even on the metal brads of your jeans. I learned this, the hard way, when I purchased an adorable boucle blazer back in the early aughts. I wore that chic blazer twice, and I've hung on to it as a *reminder* to never buy boucle again. By the way, I'm single, no children and no pets. I still found it incredibly high maintenance. Even when I would go to hug a friend, sometimes their earrings, bracelets, or rings would snag on my adorably chic boucle blazer.
To this day, I still love to occasionally take that boucle blazer out of the armoire and look at how chic and cute it is, but I do not wear it. It would be great to take photos in, or if you're antisocial and don't like people and prefer to isolate, but it's really impractical no matter how fabulous it may seem.
The design industry certainly knows how to incorporate a trend that people will grow tired of quickly, so they can abruptly do an about-face come fall/spring and sell them something else.
I much prefer timeless fabrics that you can live on and live in.
If you don't believe me, go buy yourself a chic little boucle blazer and wear it out to dinner with your family or friends, and be sure to give them all big heartfelt hugs. See how many of their watches, bracelets, necklaces and earrings get snagged on that boucle. With any luck, they'll all be wearing slick jade and no metals, and no one with get snagged up.
