    Can you show detail on how you vacuumed and charged the unit? I got the 2/3 ton unit and going to use my own lineset and in know the air handler is precharged but it's not clear if you need to open the Allen wrench valves on the condenser when vacuuming. I also will add a bidirectional filter drier near the air handler.

      @hedge605 Před 2 lety +1

      If using your own lines, you'll need to keep the liquid/gas valves closed on both the condenser and the evaporator, and work each line (liquid/gas) separately... flow nitrogen then braze, then nitrogen pressure test, pull vacuum, release refrigerant on only that line (open valve at each end of that line, but not both), then repeat on the other line. The majority of the refrigerant is in the condenser... do not vacuum the condenser nor the evaporator! Just the lineset. Make sense?

      @@hedge605 Make sense! I appreciate your help. I have all the equipment, tools and supplies and waiting for the winter to end so I can replace the furnace without having issues come up and have no heat. Look forward to having AC too now in the summer.

    do you have to use the filter drier on the 4- 5 ton ? if so where do you get one, and do you have to solder it on?

    I'm having the same issue as John, I have the communication wire between the outdoor unit and indoor unit installed but when I take readings before connecting the thermostat wire it shows 240 volts which is too high since the thermostat and the thermostat wire can only take 24 volts. So pictures or a video of the wiring would be greatly appreciated. FYI each unit has its own independent and disconnects, also my whole system is fully installed. Just need to connect the thermostat.

    I am planning an install for a Mr Cool 4-5 ton Universal unit and I am curious how much condensation are you getting from the outdoor unit? I am planning on moving the location of the outside compressor unit to an upstairs balcony but I am concerned the condensation my be too great to control and divert off that deck surface? Thanks for any help.

      @icareairrepairhvacdallas5410  Před 2 lety +1

      The outdoor unit only condensate when running as heatpump , it will not condensate a lot , it also has a drain that you can connect a hose and drain it to another location. Hope this answer your question

      From what I've looked through on MrCool's website this one doesn't call for a filter drier either. Maybe experience says different but if the manufacturer doesn't call for it does it really need it?
