    So it seems like the 5th old god we've been talking about is actually here. We knew something was going on with old god blood in Khaz'Algar, however now the new artwork found within the walls of Azj'Kahet shows a brand new old god like figure. He seems to be a mix between N'Zoth and Y'Shaarj and it seems like the nerubians are being sacrificed to him by the faceless ones.
    This would explain why nerubians rebelled and even the ones in Northrend. However even more interestingly you can see a void crystal serving as the sun with rays everywhere giving a whole new dimension to the crystal Beledar and if it was a void crystal during the times of the Black Empire. So who even is this guy and what is going on and are we going to fight an old god in the War Within?

    Remember Aku’mai in Black Phantom Deeps.He was the minion of the Old Gods but it doesn’t specify who’s.In the dungeon you can hear the Old God speaking to you but his voice doesn’t resemble any god we fought.Just a theory.The second clue that’s makes a lot more sense is in the warcraft cronicles art with the old gods on it.If you find the image on google you can see that in the image there is an unknown old god in the top right corner of the art that’s resembles the one in this video so a think this is legit. You can find plenty of this speculation about this unknown 5th old god shown on that Warcraft cronicles old god art and on youtube. PS
    There are some cards on Heartstone that can be a lead about this 5th old god

    Has anyone hypothesized that maybe the crystal is linked to maybe the void lords first and foremost rather than the naaru? I mean based on the mural it seems the actual natural state of it is it’s dark form and seems to be being utilized by the old god(s) in some form of another, and since Xal’atath has such a keen interest in it and the dark heart, and since she is more akin to the pure void than the old god void, I would surmise it’s maybe a way to summon or communicate with the void lords in order to bring them to Azeroth, and it could be the old gods were given this tool by the void lords when they were sent to Azeroth with the purpose of summoning the void lords once they had conquered the planet, but instead the old gods decided they wanted the planet for themselves, sensing how central Azeroth was to the universe, and xalatath being a servant of the void lords wanted to stick to the mission and therefor was imprisoned by the old gods in the dagger.

    if this 5th old god was defeated by Y'shaarj, wouldnt it be a bit weird that he's still around and be the end boss of the expansion?? unless he has some insane power to rebuild himself would be a bit out of place and hard to explain. The idea N'zoth could have split into two and therefore been the weakest would make a bit more sense but still i think it's gonna be really hard to explain a 5th old god out of nowhere with the lore of the 4 old gods being so ingrained and sort of fleshed out over the rest of the story, even with the titan lies from chronicles i feel it'll still be extremely hard for the writers to just drop a 5th old god out of nowhere with not much back story or any significant events related to it, at least with all the other old gods we knew they were around somewhere this one seems like a big shot into the dark

It looks generic in design but has pretty much all the hallmarks of an old god. If it's not N'zoth by it's appearance,it has to be Xal'atath. Old Gods rebelled against their Void Lord masters to take Azeroth's power for themselves. Xal'atath was tasked with a role similar to the titan watcher Algalon but for Void Lords. She was supposed to ready to planet for Dimensius' consumption and herald it's arrival but being the only connection Old Gods had with Void Lords, they betrayed and eliminated her. N'zoth ofc being the weakest one made a secret deal along the way. Once she was gone, Nerubians were essentially free of her. This theory would also explain how was she able to take control of Nerubians again in such a short time period.

      @@MatTheSleepwalker as soon as a game company starts to retcon their own definitive explanations of the universe it's considered running out of ideas. And Blizzard is doing that for a while now. As far as I remember people were asking questions about the lore and Blizzard said stuff in FAQs that gets contradicted through what happens in the game more and more.
      Retconning is fine when you think you can make a story better that way and sometimes it works out - but if you retcon too much it seems like you can't write good stories without taking existent ones like with the Lich King and changing them unnecessarily just to get people back to playing the game. Worked out verry well for Shadowlands - not. There is a lot of stuff they could explore and explain without saying "somehow there is another Old God".
      There were hints at a fifth but if I'm not mistaken Blizzard said in the past that there are four Old Gods. People just keep speculating because of art in Chronicle etc and because players are used to Blizzard retconning stuff so they take nothing Blizzard says at face value anymore because they already changed too much. Can be a good thing that we have a fifth, can be bad. All depending on how they do it like always.

    • @jcs7206
      @jcs7206 Před měsícem +3

      Not really. There were a lot of hints that there were in fact 5 old gods on Azeroth and not four + a book in DF pretty much confirmed that there are 5 total. At Blizzcon they said that the Nerubians are gathering Old god blood (probably from this old god's blood)for something that hasn't been explained yet (probably a ritual to start the void invasion). This would also mean that this time, unlike before, the old god isn't the main focus of the story it's involved in (Y'Shaarj or however he is spelled is an exception since he was just a heart in MoP) but more of a tool to kickstart the void invasion in Midnight. This would even bring the Old God story full circle since in the end, despite their disobedience, they would return to what they have been from the very start tools of the void lords.
