#GamingPC #PC #Troubleshooting - Hry
Thanks for watching! Maybe instead of troubleshooting you need to build a new PC? I have a full list of build guide videos here: czcams.com/play/PLFh-CP1vQXONQQiFMxjvdI7lmGYuIo6CI.html
My uncle built me a pc and gave it to me for my birthday today and it keep crashing win I use google but won't when i play games it doesn't
that is why i stop DIY my pc....
@@kakot_t3330 just take it to pc shop... or buy pre build one... or trade in... modern DIY pc just don't worth it as much as today... since you can just buy gaming PC for cheap...
Hope to get a reply, I'm having this issue of PC shutting down when gaming but not when I just browse/stream/etc. It's been driving me crazy. I replaced the PSU and no luck. I followed your steps in this video and it shuts down when running the test with Cinebench. Could this mean my CPU is bad? Thanks for the video and any further info I may be able to get
Edit: Fixed the issue. Turns out that the CPU was overheating after all. All I had to do was take off the CPU cooler and clean off the old thermal paste and then applied new thermal paste and put the cooler back on. Temps are now good and PC is no longer shutting down. This video helped me narrow down the possible issues so thank you for that!
Do u have a vid on bsod trouble shooting? I’ve been dealing with blue screens when opening up my games for the past week and I’ve tested, scanned, and many other things to try and fix it. Any help would be appreciated. (I’m at a loss currently at what’s causing them)

Lmfao these big ass channels uploading videos like theses are annoying as fuck.
Bruh, we all don’t get free products from sponsors 😂😂
Lmao
My brother is having similar issues with his desktop, and we first suspected a GPU issue. We swapped GPUs temporarily, and he is having the same issue, ruling out the GPU. We are going to try swapping PSUs next.
Yes, not everyone has extra components laying around, but chances are you know someone who you could potentially swap components with and troubleshoot that way.
Yes, it is time consuming and a little bit painful, but if it means replacing one component instead of an entire several hundred (if not thousand) dollar computer, it is worth it IMO.
Great video! I had this problem for weeks and was desperate because nothing I tried works. But, after watching your video, I simply rearrange my cables on the motherboard and it somehow resolved my problem! I just tried benchmarking on heaven benchmark twice and it finally survived both of them. Thanks a lot!
I think you're the first person who talks fast and still makes complete sense. I will be purchasing pulseway in the next week. Thanks for the info. Appreciate it.
That's crazy, I set everything back to Default in the BIOS and it 100% fixed the random powering off/resetting I was having. My peripherals were shutting off 2-3 times and the system would crash, thank you a ton!
How do you do that
Wow, that's a very specific issue, props to you for figuring it out, I would have totally panicked if that happened to me.
Haha thank you. Just gotta progress through the steps.
Brilliant troubleshooting process. Initially, I thought the issue was the motherboard, and thus would have replaced it. However, that would have cost more, versus your solution. Nicely done.

Tbf it is exactly how it works, I am going through the same thing myself, but after swapping my new 1080 ti for my old 1060, watercooler for a noctua, i just ordered a psu as hopefully the last swap
@@sunnohh yeah exactly. I can't complain about this when it's literally the only option. If there was a cheaper option then they would've fkn told us about it.
That is how you troubleshoot. You check each hardware that could possibly be the problem, to find the problem.
I actually appreciate this vid, its helped me understand a very similar problem I have been struggling with. Thumbs up mate.
Poverty?
The problem I have with all these troubleshooting videos is that they all assume people have the money to buy multiple graphics cards or other hardware. My computer hard crashes to black screen doesnt restart and sound freezes too and i have no idea how to even begin to figure out what is going wrong so im just going to have to basically build a new computer.
Yea sorry to here my pc had a gtx 650ti with a i5 3570k and I upgrade to a rx570 but now all it does it crash when I play fortnite I still get 250 fps but it's still crashes
@@Heartdrive lmao thxs I am not much of an expert I just put in my rx570 today actually and it was really annoying so what do u think I should do now if u know
@@nonamik1380 best thing i can recommend is update your drivers. go to the amd website and search for the relevant ones its very easy. during installation, if you can, select a fresh install so it wipes all your old drivers too cuz some issues can come from having older drivers. Think you can manually delete them but im not sure how to do that. im sure there are youtube videos on how to do it out there though. If that doesnt work Im not an expert either. Its just the result of my last few weeks of research xD
@@Heartdrive thxs 👍👍👍
Heartdrive I have a gtx 1060 3g and I’ve been able to play everything with never ever issues for like a year and just yesterday it suddenly crashed exactly at the same time almost 20 seconds exactly when I started literally even game. Even rocket league or Minecraft just closes and then the compuer goes black screen no sound with no restart. Could that be related?
Thanks for this video, its was a really good first step to troubleshooting a similar issue on my desktop. Turns out the GPU wasn't getting enough power while gaming because of the extension cable it was hooked up to. I never would have imagined that was the issue. I tried everything else before that (Reset the Bios, removed all CPU and GPU overclocks, uninstalled all my old GPU drivers, tried differnt RAM, Resat the CPU and replaced the thermal paste, etc).
What kind of extension cables were you using? I've tried every other fix and nothing has helped. Was thinking it could be my Asiahorse cable extensions.
@@thickthorplays I know this was a year ago, and I could be wrong, but I assume he means “extension cable” as in the kind you use to reach an outlet, and/or plug in multiple devices. That could definitely cause inadequate power supply.

That’s how it usually goes lol.
This is the exact problem i've been having with a built PC I bought. Recently the GPU was replaced under warranty to a slightly higher model and just like you the issue has gotten worse, so I'll be sure to bear all this in mind!

Your process helped me a lot. My PC started shutting down with or without a bsod for a week while playing video games. I thought it was my gpu/cpu/psu or my storage drives but the tools you showed said otherwise. Damn it was hard only to find out that I had a duplicate of the game on my ssd and hdd lol. I think it was having a conflict because the crashing never happened again when I deleted the duplicate. Didn't know that game duplicates can mess up your PC.

To completely save time for you, it could either be your power supply, cpu cooler, or your graphics card. Check your temps on everything to ensure it’s not your power or card. And then try to reinstall your cpu cooler.
should i reinstall it or replace it
How to check what The problem?
@@nio5565 If its not too late, I'd say to reinstall it with new thermal paste. And see if that helps. If not, than i'd say get a new cooler. Because it can't handle your processor.
@@XBM-1 Ways that you can check is by using a program like msi's dragon center or any other temp seeking program. If something is above 70 when your pc is idle. Than there is something wrong with that specific component.
Thanks bro... really helpful video...just knowing that it was only a cooler problem gives hell of lot satisfaction.
Thanks for your kind and well done video.Happy summer.
For anyone looking through the comments for a fix, My problem was odd. Seemed just installing MSI Afterburner and raising the power limit to Max and that fixed it , no more shut offs
i know im 2 years late, but how do you raise the power limit?
if the problem is overheating from high end processors/gpu when playing ultra/high settings without adequate cooling (like in most gaming laptops) then a quick solution is to go into power options > change plan settings > change advanced power settings > processor power management > set minimum processor state to 5% > set maximum processor state to less than 100%. Mine is set to 75% and I haven't had overheating problems and random shutdowns while playing since then. This does lower your framerates so find a good balance that works for you.
also if you use avast anti-virus, make sure to go to their "Do not Disturb Mode" and uncheck the "maximize performance" box for each app/game listed there so it doesn't automatically set your maximum processor state to 100% when you open the app/game
Thanks for this. My pc is working now

Wow best guide for me! I'm having the same issue. Thinking it was my CPU, PSU, GPU. It might just be my water block or my motherboard. I need to look into it. Thanks for this awesome video 👍
It was very helpful brother. Thanks a lot.
I had a similar issue that ended up being traced back to the cpu cooler. I was having a crashing problem on certain games, but it didn't crash in heaven or other benchmarks. The temperatures seemed fine too, being 85 max for the cpu and 80 for the gpu consistently under load for long periods of time. The computer was still crashing in pubg and fortnite. After swapping out my stock cpu cooler with CM hyper 212 black edition the problem was fixed. Mine seemed to be that the processor was getting too hot. Even with stable temps in a benchmark utility and monitoring my temps with HWmonitor during gaming, nothing seemed too out of the ordinary.
Wow interesting. It shouldn’t be shutting down at those temps.
@@ZachsTechTurf Yeah some combination of the cpu cooler getting hot and probably something on the motherboard operating out of its intended temperature range. I ruled out software and driver problems since the problem is gone now. It even used to crash in rocket league, which is not the most demanding game.
@@CCNightcore hey! what exactly you did that fix problem ? i think i have the same problem. My pc used to shut down when i play some games (rocket league, ark, dying light 2..) but i lunch heaven benchmark for like 30 minutes and no shutdown so

Wish I would have found this video BEFORE I spent about 1 week resolving my issue. Your step 1 would have saved me A LOT of hassle.
I had a PC that would reboot periodically while gaming. I thought I had an issue with my CPU cooler because my temps would get kind of high at times. I replaced it with a better cooler, but that didn't fix the problem.
What I did was download a monitoring software called HWinfo and GPU/CPU load testing program called Cupid Powermax. I would first start the monitoring process with HWinfo and then start load testing the CPU. As soon as I started the test for the GPU, my PC would reboot. This happened every time I ran both load test together. My first guess was that I had an issue with the graphics card, but I decided to uninstall the drivers and then reinstall them. That seems to have fixed the rebooting issue. I'm not sure if I had corrupt drivers or not, but my guess is that a Windows update may have caused this issue a while back with their last big update.
So for anyone reading this right now, don't skip the step one that he mentioned. Completely uninstall certain drivers and then reinstall them BEFORE doing anything else.
In other way, i would just factory boot windows once again, and if the problem persists i would know if its the psu or badly plugged cables
@@Reptile1997 The issue actually came back. I'm beginning to think it has something to do with Windows 10. I ended up reinstalling Windows because the PC started rebooting again. After reinstalling Windows, my PC was fine and experienced no reboots for about 4 to 6 months. The issue is now back again though.
I have a gaming PC that I bought on Amazon for a decent price at the end of 2018. However, the first thing I did was swap the PSU with a Corsair 750w modular plug PSU. No issues at that point. At the end of 2019, I replaced the SSD and HHD drives for nvme drives. No issues right away, but about midway into 2020 is when the PC started rebooting. Uninstalled and reinstalled Windows at the end of 2020 and that helped the issue for 4 to 6 months. This is why I don't think it's a hardware issue.
@@shalamigri
So is the conclusion still windows updates for you?
@@matthewhammond7048 To be honest, I think it ended up being something with my Motherboard and/or processor. Issue kept happening and coming back until I replaced the motherboard and processor. How to reset
Good stuff! Nice troubleshooting!
I recently bought a new rig, and I've been playing a majority of games on it from high-end AAA titles to more basic competitive games like CS:GO,COD,Rocket League etc.. or some random cartoony platformer games that aren't as demanding.I recently got"The Master Chief Collection" and "Sea of thieves", and that's where I started seeing problems. My PC shuts down only on these two titles.I tried troubleshooting and had no success on this. These are the steps I took while troubleshooting:
- Checked driver versions on all software I have.
- I checked if there is any 3rd party software that might be problematic.
- I checked windows event viewer for any specific kernel power events apart from the generic error that the PC shutdown unexpectedly.
- I ran all the benchmarks that are out there, and I did not encounter any problems there.
- I've been monitoring the temps of the GPU and CPU for some time, and they stay pretty cool, even at max Load.
- Tried resetting my BIOS settings.
- I ran multiple diagnostic tools to help me clarify where it could be coming from.
- I only haven't tried swapping out any specific parts.I was hoping that that the PSU or the motherboard or something could be faulty, but i can't seem to simulate this, and it doesn't make sense how I don't see this problem with games that are 10 times more demanding than (Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Sea of Thieves).
- I did some investigation on both these game's community sites and saw that some people are experiencing the same issues as me, but sadly with no resolve on their complaints.
I basically work and play on this PC all day, and have never experienced any shut downs of this type on anything besides the two games.
This happens while playing only these two (Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Sea of Thieves)
This is my setup:
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
GPU - XFX AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 XT 8GB
RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB)
MotherBoard - b450 aorus elite
PSU - EVGA 600 BR 600W Bronze
2x 1080p Monitors
Sounds to me like It's something related to a software issue, but to shut down the entire PC... Has anyone experienced anything of the sort?
UPDATE: Turned out the PSU was faulty, so i ended up buying a new one, and I have not had any shutdowns so far for 2 weeks.
@@juju94041 thanks
I know this post is a couple months old, but did you ever find a solution to this? I have similar specs with a 5700 XT and a Ryzen 5 3600X. I had the same situation as you, where some games would shut off the PC while others would not, regardless of how demanding the games are to run. I did a factory reset, which actually solved the issue for a couple months, but it starting happening again today. I also have tried countless software fixes, none of which helped other than a full factory reset.
@@IntoxicatedBeaver Look at my latest update in this section. Turned out that after all the troubleshooting, my problem was the PSU. The moment I swapped my PSU there were no more issues on my side.
@@juju94041 Missed that, thanks. I'll have to give that a try when I can, it just seems strange to me in my case how it could be a hardware issue if factory reset temporarily fixed it.
@Zach's Tech Turf - If its a ryzen pc on a gigabyte motherboard the Gigabyte SOFTWARE is to blame. Their software issues are well documented. @@broganking9830 haved the same problem like u ... i can do the stress test without nothing but in games...boom blackscreen:( so power unit means PSU ?
Yea the PSU. I would suggest that first. One, because its probably the cause. Two, because its far cheaper than buying a new GPU :)
Good luck.
@@broganking9830 thank you :) monday i'll take my pc to someone and we will try that hope i can fix it :) i'll keep u updated
Thanks for this video! I may have the same problem
i also have the same issue but with my laptop, your ideas seem very good , i shall try them out, will update later
when i was playing my game sometimes my screen freeze what could be the problem?
may the game is not compatible to your pc specs
For me it started after I got a new screen somehow.. It does different things, like completely restart.. shut down.. black screens and fans of GPU running 100%.. sometimes it shuts down and is unresponsive to the power buttom..
Temps ok on both gpu and cpu.. I feel I have tried everything.. gonna try this too, though I have no parts to swap
I have same exact problem, and my power button is unresposive after its shut off
I have the same, problem right now
What should I do?
Clean ram
Volcano it’s the PSU I fixed my problem
Same problem and in a similar fixing route when I found out this video. I just change my power supply but it still shut down randomly around 5 to 45 minutes. Hopefully your solution similar to mine and I could solve it easily but thanks for that detailed troubleshooting steps anyway. This will help me a lot.
Did you fix it and what was the problem? I'm getting shutdowns when the GPU is under load, but in another computer the GPU works perfectly fine. I also tried changing the power supply and this didn't help.
Did you fixed it
Thamxs , this worked for me. Was having this problem with warzone, in the end it was my watercooler.
They should've just give us a warning before shutting down, since when you're in a competitive game you can tell others that your pc is shutting down randomly so you didnt get reported and get ban from the game.
The problems started after I was playing Java henTai game
XD
RIP
Definitely not viruses 😀😀 couldnt be....
Thank you for the video I'll apply this approach to my pc
Great video!
Btw watching many videos i learned one thing that is water cooling is only for pc enthusiast!
I’m having issues where when I’m logging into steam at the log in screen it always restarting my PC it’s weird was working fine last night but this morning it’s not working at all
Same just started turning off randomly
I tried Time Spy and Fire Strike no crashes but when I actually play a game say GTAV
I crash, my whole system crashes
How you fix the game?
very helpful...thinking it's 1 thing and it actually being something totally different
That really helped me, thanks my friend
Hi Zach. I'm not entirely sure if its an overheating issue but my PC turns off at different times. Sometimes straight after booting, sometimes a couple of hours. It also doesn't matter if I'm running anything or not. The weirdest thing is it also turns itself on whenever it wants as long as its plugged in. What do you think is the problem?
This is my exact problem we are the same .
How did you solve the issue?
@@Shzy. did you solve it yet? :')
@@aden4043 yah I solved it
