Someones been watching Pretty Much It lmao
Lol

It Just happened to me as well😢
As a spaniard, I really have to recommend anyone that hasn't seen REC to watch it before Quarantine. I get that nowadays some people would consider it just "another found footage", but for me it was the movie that made me fall in love with horror movies and to this day is still my favourite. Keep in mind that this movie got released, at least in Spain, before Paranormal Activity, before the renaissance of found footage, and it was incredibly effective. I was already in high school and I slept with my lights on that night. It was also the first horror movie I watched in cinema and it was an amazing experience. It felt so so real. For me, that was the best thing about this movie: the characters felt so real, like I actually believed this could happen in my building and my neighbours would act like that. And maybe that "realness" gets lost in the language and subtitles, but I loved that I felt like I was watching my neighbours and not stereotypical hollywood characters acting scared.
I recommend this movie a lot, especially to people that have seen popular horror movies like The Conjuring, Insidious or Paranormal Activity and think they are not "scary enough" but don't know a lot about horror. They always love it.
Preach! Rec is my all time favourite horror movie and it made Found Footage my favourite genre!
Rec and Rec 2 are my favourite found footage films.
Blanca Herrero España I’ve seen up to the fourth one and I feel like they’re all awesome movies ☺️👌🏽
YES! One of my favorites as well!!
what a great film, the ending is chilling
We lied about the one hour, we wanted two!
You mentioned As Above So Below, Grave Encounters, The Blair Witch Project, AND the Tunnel? Girl, you have some amazingly savage taste! Love it.
Cloverfield was the first found footage film I ever watched and I was HOOKED. I could not believe how cool of a concept found footage was. My mom was like “lol wait until you see Blair witch”
Cloverfield was awesome. It’s the only big creature horror movie that was legitimately terrifying, IMO, and it was largely because of its POV style. You never knew if you were running towards or away from danger. And those spidery things were genius.
Yo my mom said the exact same thing to me after cloverfield wtf lol
Blair witch is boring (a lot of people says that its scary but i watched that movie and at least i found it boring
Lake Mungo is another underappreciated Australian found footage film (definitely reccommend Ryan Hollinger's video on it)
It's not really a found footage film, more of a mockumentary, isn't it?
Not horror tho
Yes, this movie is amazing I highly recommend
@@joeertman good thing that itd an opinion and not a fact ;)
Easily one of my top fav horror films
I was one of those people who believed Blair Witch was real, and spent hours on their website reading Heather's diary. Lol. I didn't know it wasn't real until they were nominated for an MTV movie award. 🤦♀️ I was a very gullible teen. Lol.
Don't worry, me too. That feeling you have going to bed the first time after seeing Blair Witch Project and thinking it's real!!
I was around 13 when it came out and I absolutely thought it was real for the first few months it was out.
You’re the only other person I’ve ever heard talk about Grave Encounters. I loooove that movie
Same. I am not a fan of found footage but that was a movie that was done well.
I love that movie too
Can't tell if you're serious or not but Grave Encounters is literally the common denominator of all these lists.
MiSTR JT I don’t really watch other horror review channels tbh. Just Sarah because I watch her main channel. I’ve asked all of my friends if they’ve watched that movie and nobody ever has lol
Love that one and the sequel. Some of the best underrated found footage movies out there.
REC is my all time favorite found footage movie, and it also has a really solid sequel. Thanks for your thoughts on all these movies.
The Tunnel scared the heck out of me, so underrated. Also, I saw Blair Witch opening weekend in the theater. I was 15 and was definitely one of the ones who thought it was real at the time.
Yeah the Tunnel is definitely one of my favorite found footage horror films. Hella underrated
eljefebridget yep, me too! I had just moved to England for post grad and went to the theatres opening night for Blair Witch with my new friends I had just met and we were all so confused. We knew logically that if these kids really died, the marketing would’ve been exploitive therefore this can’t be happening yet having no knowledge of found footage, the gen pop (including myself; I grew up watching horror but was and still am no aficionado) scratching their heads wondering if it was real or not. Lots of discussion in the theatre after the lights came up.
I had the same age when saw it and scared the shit out of me. Is one of my favorites movies ever.
😶
i don't know why people nowadays disrespect it.
the blair witch project was scary as hell.
The Hell House, LLC trilogy definitely needs to be on this list.
I just started watching horror movies about 6 months ago (kind of a new hobby thing) and the first hell house movie is the only movie that really scared me. Like, had trouble sleeping, eyes covered, can’t look type scary. Honestly every movie I’ve watched after that didn’t scare me as much because of how scared I was watching hell house. Great movie!
Haven’t watched yet
Agreed. Oddly I wasn’t super impressed on first watch, but kept rewatching the whole trilogy over and over.
@@emilywilhite5807 the first one smacks on the second and third
I was waiting for her to mention this one! Hell House is criminally underrated. Genuinely terrifying
Grave Encounters 1, The Taking is Deborah Logan, VHS 1&2, Paranormal Activity 1, The Bay, Blair Witch, The Tunnel, The 4th Kind, The Sacrament, Hell House LLC, The Houses October Built, Afflicted, The Last Exorcism, The Atticus Institute, Jeruzalem, and The Pyramid. smh I can’t think of more at the moment but these were my favorite ones.
The Atticus Institute really surprised me, and also The Bay, I like your list. Check out Frankenstein's Army if you haven't already.
Frankenstein's Army is a good one.
Europa Report (2013) Mocumentary about a mission to search for life on Jupiter's moon Europa. I loved this one, its awesome.
Noroi: The Curse (2005) Japanese found footage about paranormal researcher investigating a demon.
Exists (2014) Found footage monster Movie by Blair Witch Project director Eduardo Sanchez.
The Last Broadcast (1998) Creepy mocumentary about a film crew in the Pine Barrens, investigating the Jersey
Devil.
Evidence (2012) Found footage, camping trip goes insane. czcams.com/video/AHIp0Zy-HXo/video.html
Apollo 18 (2011) Found Footage about NASA's Apollo 18 mission.
The Wicksboro Incident (2003)1953 Mocumentary about the entire population of a town going missing.
The four Blair Witch mocumentaries used to promote the film are creepy.
The Curse of the Blair Witch. (1999) vimeo.com/114798394
Sticks and Stones (1999) czcams.com/video/6RGLGdufIQo/video.html
The Burkittsville 7 (2000) czcams.com/video/A5iF5psCp28/video.html
Shadow of the Blair Witch (2000) czcams.com/video/-JxeNNYbvKE/video.html
What about the last broadcast
The Atticus Institute is so good.
I saw the Blair Witch opening day at the theater. It was a massive hit! I waited in line like 2 hours to get tickets. I also live in Maryland and people really thought it was a real story!!
omg that’s amazing I wish I could have experienced that!
Ryan - My Sis-in-law and I went to the 'Midnight Showing' of "BWP" in our town...by the time Heather's camera hit the basement floor and stuttered into silence, you could hear *a pin drop* in the theater.
Then, a collective "Ohhhh..." of dismay, as we *all realized* what *that* meant for our 'not-so-happy campers'. 😨
@@CynAnne1 that's cool story!! What cinema is all about!!
I loved Creep !! Totally didn’t know what I was getting into when I watched it and it was awesome easily one of my fav horror movies
I watched it with my now ex and the whole time while watching it I was so confused and weirded out by it but I think it was actually done really well
Yes. The first Creep was awesome 👌
Thank you so much for talking about the movies without spoiling anything😩
I loooooved As Above, So Below. It was the first to genuinely scare me in a long time. I think it's probably my favorite found footage horror film and one of my favorite horror films in general
Creep was filmed in my hometown!!! I absolutely love it
Ow wow that’s so cool! It’s such a good movie definitely my favourite horror movie 😊
So glad Devil's Pass is on your list. One of my favorites. The Woodsman is a pretty good found footage movie to.
Michael Fuson Yes! I was so glad she mentioned Devil’s Pass. I haven’t really heard anyone talk about it and I thought it was really well done, especially how they blended the story of Philadelphia Experiment with the Dyatlov Pass incident, even though one is true and the other was later found to have been a hoax (the Philadelphia Experiment).
@@johnseckinger9523 It is an underrated movie in my humble opinion.
I absolutely LOVE the Taking of Deborah Logan!! Thank you SO much for mentioning it!! Definitely a hidden gem
The reason I don’t think you should lump Quarantine and REC together is because REC has to me one of the best horror sequels out there and it was wildly popular in Spain.
Quarantine is the us version of rec
I can now
Officaly and without being a liar say
CZcams did recomend this Video rather quickly
Have you seen Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum? It's a Korean film that came out a couple years ago and its a solid found footage flick
I LOVE the restraint used in the scares in this movie, the tension omggggg best drawn out scares imo
I saw the Blair Witch Project the first week it was out in theaters back in '99. Nobody in the theater knew if it was even real or not at that point. It was an awesome movie-going experience as a horror fan.
I loved "The Taking of Debra Logan" and many of the other movies on this list. You should check out "Borderlands", also titled "Final Prayer". It is about Vatican investigators looking into possible supernatural activity in a rural church in England.
John Dryzga the borderlands ending is one of the most terrifying sequences in a horror history imo.
@@edcz559 - I had to rewind it to catch what was *actually* going on 'around them' at the very end...and then was *horrified* at the realization.
Thanks you for commenting this! Just watched it and I have to say it exceeded my expectations.
YES!! Britain's Blair Witch! My favorite found-footage film! You should also check out Occult Angel and Mortal Remains on Amazon Prime!
The Taking of Debra Logan and Grave Encounters are excellent, very scary
Side note: this is my favorite makeup on you.
thank you! it’s the same I wear everyday actually lol
Cloverfield is my fave found footage movie by far, and honestly my favorite monster movie.
Cloverfield is the best...I know everyone loves REC but Quarantine is a good movie which
makes excellent use of the claustrophobic darkness of the apartment complex as well as
fast moving zombies.
I love Found Footage when done right, creatively, and with purpose like Blair Witch Project! One of my favs too.
I loved Creep so much!! It definitely was the movie that kickstarted my love for found footage horror. Great video!!
When properly done, 'found footage' brings us into the hapless (or hopeless) situation the protagonists often find themselves in, and immerses us in their dismay...and inevitable terror.
I love the claustrophobic feel of them too. That's what always gets me.
My husband and I just watched Cloverfield last year, and it’s honestly one of my favorite found footage horror films.
Have you ever seen Phoenix Forgotten. That’s another one of my personal favorites.
I love love love the longer video format, as someone who always hearing what you have to say about all things horror, it's wonderful to be able to listen to you go more in depth in videos. Would definitely love to see more videos like this one!!
Lake Mungo is more of a fake documentary but it is partially "found footage" and it has one of the creepiest moments I have ever seen in a horror movie.
AMG yes! No one talks about it, but it’s a really good movie.
Bro I swear I watched that movie and that scene you're talking about didn't scare me at first but later I realized how freaky deaky it really is
I constantly recommend Lake Mungo all for THAT moment. Deeply, deeply creepy.
Is this the one with the girl who is missing or something. I have seen a movie years ago and there's like a creepy part with a cellphone (its all i remember) and I've been trying to find it again...
@@DeadlyWhispers Ik I'm like two years too late, but yes, yes it is.
That cult short in VHS is still one of the most terrifying thing I've ever watched in my entire life.
Also, idk if there are other Asian found footage films, but Noroi: The Curse is one of the best found footage movies I've seen. Definitely underrated.
@S Hwang I can forgive them for the CGI bc it's just really disturbing. And thanks for the recommendation!
YES!! Thank you for making this video!! Everyone always bashes found footage horror but it’s actually really amazing! It’s my fave genre of horror and it’s the most effective for me (besides home invasion and woods/forest horror). I’m also super glad you mention Deborah Logan because that movie is disastrously underrated!!
9:25 aww your cat is so chill.
Possessedbyhorror: I love found footage
August Underground Mordum enters the room.
I love all of these! Another one I love is Noroi: The Curse. I watched it on here with english subs I wonder if its still up
I think its on shudder! That is such a good one
Still up on youtube.
Yes, this is so good! And is still on Shudder.
i love that you mentioned as above so below, it's probably my favorite horror movie
Love your channel definitely appreciate the longer uploads
I love Dyatlov Pass, such a crazy mystery and so sad that we will probably never know what happened to the real people, but the film is fun and really creepy.
Creep was one of the first horror movies I ever saw and I swear no one I've talked to has ever heard of it 😂 so I appreciated it being included
Thank you for the brief history of found footage ! I love the new format. Great selection of films . Thanks for doing what you do :-)
You should definitely check out The Den! Every shot is from either a webcam on a laptop or a camera on a phone. It’s a really creepy movie about a woman doing a study on chat rooms, while going through several chat rooms she witnesses a woman being murdered. It’s really awesome and the ending is still something I think about from time to time.
The ending will always haunt me.
Love the longer video! More please!! My fav found footage are Grave Encounters and The Houses October Built. Most of the others do nothing for me, but these 2 do!
[REC 🔴] all the way! My favourite horror movie of all time, made me love Found Footage genre. Nevertheless, this list has some epic movies.
BTW anyone heard of Classroom 6? Saw some trailers back in the day, looked like Grave Encounters but in school, wish I could see it one day.
yea! [REC] Squad all the way!
OMG I watched all of this movies... now, I know I'm a huge fan of this genre
Same lol
Love the longer format! I’m glad you could really go into detail on each of these titles!
I have always loved found footage! These movies you spoke about are some of my all time favorites. Thank you for talking and defending these movies.
No one ever talks about The Gallows, but it is one of my favorite found footage movies of all time! It's such a unique horror film and I love it so much.❤
First, love the longer format of this video. I really enjoyed that you could go more in depth with each movie discussed. Second, I personally love found footage (the Blair Witch scared the hell out of me) and can’t wait to see where this style of horror goes in the coming years (hopefully not just a passing fad). Oh, and I agree with the top comment. I’d watch Rec first if you haven’t seen it or Quarantine. They’re both great and Quarantine does a splendid job of recreating it, but Rec is really special in my opinion and is the superior of the two.
Very well done and informative. Thank you so much, I took notes and will be following up to watch some of your recommendations!
All these movies are my favorite.
Ever since I saw a video of you saying The Village was a favorite, I knew these is a channel for me. Thank you for being so great!
Oh, I was hoping to see Lake Mungo, that's a different one but I reaaaaaaally loved it and it has good acceptance in the horror comunity for what I've read. You mentioned two I haven't seen yet but I'm going to give it a try. I love your channel, please watch Lake Mungo and tell us what you think.
Her-So glad I'm not the only one who was disappointed by Lake Mungo not getting a shoutout. I've seen that movie quite a few times now & it still never fails to get under my skin & leave me feeling uneasy.
LOVE Lake Mungo!
Good movie surprised to see it mentioned
@@sherlockfan2000 I think about that movie a lot, everytime people talk about found footage I think about it and I watched it a long time ago, that feeling of uneasiness...still lingers.
@@sixbulletz It was fucking good jajaja.
Ugh I LOVED The Sacrament. It was so unnerving to watch and even if the pacing was a little slow, it just added the the anxiety of the situation. Definitely creeped the hell out of me!
Yessssss Sarah!!! I've been waiting for this video, thanks for making it! Found footage horror is my favorite! The Houses October Built truly scared me to the core, it felt so surreal and harrowing. I also love Creep and As Above So Below! I will check some of the others out on this list that I haven't seen yet, looking forward to it!
Could listen to you for hours. Always interesting, honest reviews and a lovely accent too. Keep up the great work. Another thumbs-up obviously 😎
When you're binging Sarah and she posts a new video 👀
I LOVE your long videos. In fact, I’m bummed I’m already done with this one, lol. I don’t watch scary movies anymore...I used to love them when I was younger, but something changed and I prefer hearing about the plots this way 😆😬. Honestly I consume whatever content you put out on your channels because you’re fun to watch and I learn stuff...bonus! Please keep all the long videos coming! 👍👍
Loved this video! Thank you so much for all these recs.
Really diggin the longer videos, I know hthey can't ALL be this long but you're so well spoken I just love listening to you 🖤🖤🖤

Even as one who doesn’t typically care for FF films, I thoroughly enjoyed ‘As Above’.
I absolutely love the longer format! Please keep it ^-^
I only recently found your channel, but I have to say that I love your videos: you are articulate, elegant, and you do not use profanity. Plus, your opinions on the films are justified and based on solid analyses. Keep up the great work!
Great list. I loved the last exorcism except the ending was stupid.
I love the “hell house LLC” trilogy, and the documentary style movies “the bay”, “lake mongo” and “savage land”.
Just watched Savage Land and loved it!
People: Found Footage Horror Movies are the Worst
Also those people: have you seen REC? Have you seen The Troll Hunter? Have you seen VHS?
Really enjoyed the longer video and hearing you go more in depth on your thoughts on those movies. Would love to see more longer videos.
Thank you for talking about Devils Pass! One of my favorite movies!
The new aquatic horror Underwater looks groovy 👹
'Lake Mungo' is another great film
I was skimming through your video library looking for a video where you talk about Creep. Glad to see it here!
I'm SO passionate about found footage horror movies! This list was such a nostalgia trip for me but you did also list a few that I haven't seen so I am excited to check them out. Also yes I love the longer videos! I could listen to you talk about horror all day.
Please do your review of ahs: 1984
Please I would love to see your thoughts. Btw I love youuuu
found footage horror slander will not be tolerated under this roof
I was so excited when you announced this video!! I LOVE found footage films, and couldn’t wait to hear what you had to say. 🥰
Thank you for reminding me how much i love found footage! I’ve seen all (except The Sacrament) and I think they were all thrilling and enjoyable to watch.
...Chernobyl Diaries isn't found footage, though. I'm really confused as to how people keep making that claim.
The way it is shot mimics the camera movements of a found footage film closer than the standard camera angles and shot of a traditional horror movie. Also, no sound track either.
Ok I absolutely love found footage movies I search for the EVERY NIGHT to find something new. I'm so excited I found your channel today.
I'm so happy you talked about the houses October built !!!! Love that movie
Thank you for making this. Got some new stuff added to my watch list

Oh man, I'm glad you brought up The Taking of Deborah Logan! I don't really see many people talk about it, but it's one of my favorite found footage films I've ever seen
Love the long format!!
I love Found footage horror genre! Thank you for this video Sarah you added more to my watch list ☺️!

I was just talking about as above so below!! love this longer format ♡
I was so psyched when you said this was gonna be like an hour, but a like 20-30 minute video is definitely a welcome and manageable length!!!
i am so happy that youtubers are making longer videos. i feel like they can say and do more to express their talents.
Thank you for sharing devils pass. I love that movie and it never gets talked about.
Oh my gosh, I feel like we'd be best friends. I love ALL of these movies, and I'm so happy you have some praise for Devil's Pass. That's such a good one! Excellent video! 👍🏻
I’ve never really been big into found footage but I’ve been watching more and starting to have a big appreciation for it. Emma actually had me watch The Tunnel and I surprisingly really liked it
Loved this video! The original Blair witch is one of my favourite films. It is one of the only horrors I’ve ever watched to genuinely scare me and keep me creeped out for hours after! As above so below is also a gem 🖤 Thankyou for this video, there’s quite a few I haven’t seen so I will be adding them to my list of horrors to watch!

blair witch is a classic.
a 'must have' for occult horror fans.
