Bairagi Bhairab is an early morning Raga depicting the beginning of a day with a sense of serious and sensititive melody of music ,mixed with a bit of pathos,deep emotion and gravity and delicacy of human life in the material world. Sri Nikhil Banerjee by virtue of his fondness for divinity and devotion to supernatural things beyond human perception ,had rendered his sitar playing to mould a sensitive human mind ,exactly in that direction to something sublime through his exceptional performance. He was one of the greatest musicians who offered his sitar recital as a means of worship to Almighty God. Such a performer is rarely found. His each rendition was thus almost near to divinity and also mesmerizing to listeners. May his soul rest in eternal peace . We miss suchna great sitar player who was really a musician in the truest sense of the term.
