Best movie I've seen in the last decade.
DITTO THAT!!! It certainly lived up to the advertising that it would make me laugh, make me cry & make me think!!! Check to all of those!! Just FANTASTIC!!! When Viggo pushes the button on that cassette player above the steering wheel & announces "SO THEY KNOW WE'RE COMING!!"......sigh.....WHAT A WONDERFUL MOMENT!!! :) :D
I'm amazed at how talented Matt Ross is. He's amazing on Silicon Valley. To think he wrote and directed this amazing movie as well. What an incredibly underrated individual
He also won the best director in CANNES
Rahul Kumar Because he deserved it!
I am just watching Silicon Valley and he plays Gavin so well. This movie had me in tears. I had no idea who Matt was until now.
I adore Viggo
How shocked I was that Gavin Belson directed this movie. Wow
Consider the tortoise… :-))
This movie meant so much to me and it's awesome to hear how it came to be. There's so much truth in this film that is so important for all of us to consider.
Great to hear two wonderful wise men tell their stories... going to take my kid to see it again tonight. It has tipped my parenting brain upside inside out!
I cried my ass off.
I can't say it enough I LOVE THIS FILM for so many reasons. A vivid living piece of art heart and soul captured on film. An exemplar of the human spirit in the midst of our modern day culture of consumerism. Love and liberty growing in the family
One of the better movies I have seen in a while
It's a thoughtful film asking do you need to fit in with society?. What is success? What's your job as a parent? Is modern society fucked up?
As a father of four who has moved them around a lot I laughed and cried at this movie. Great thought provoking movie. I'm trying to find that happy middle ground but it's such a trial with compulsory participation in society as the laws apply. Fantastic !
wonderful interview. a great movie and Viggo is, as always, amazing.
So he went from Hooli CEO to writing and directing Captain Fantastic ?
he has all the money and talent
F*cking billionaires, man!
A GENIUS 😭😭😭😂😂😂👏🏾
We all know this was actually ghostwritten by Guru Denpok Singh
@@The5a1man hehe I don’t doubt it
This movie is really well put together. It claims the need to have a different educations and relationships within families and family members. So it does it in a way that portraies two extreme opposite lifestyles, which both of them have flaws. The main idea is to get what is best from both systems.
loved the movie, felt for these characters, wanted to be with them...
Both are beautiful, humane, genuinely engaging individuals.
Good film. Back in 1980, I went hobo for a little while. Hitchhiked across the country. Slept under bridges, in missions and that road life. Met guys doing what these folks are doing in the movie. It's definite worth exploring this world, but you have to know what that means. First of all, living alone in the woods...you have to be in massive physical shape. If you are not in the shape of a pro athlete, you are in huge trouble. And alone? Alone is tough. Ancient cultures did not do it alone. If you are alone in the woods and just break a leg...you could die from just that. So, it's a tough road and hard. But...and here's the thing...yeah, you can bring a lot of that kind life into yours. You can train and through hike the Appalachian Trail or one of the other major trails. We knew some lawyers who made huge money for 9 months of the year and spent the other three months just hiking the world. So, the hippie trip does have real freedom. You just have to be careful about going whole hog or doing it without planning. And don't forget that the outer freedom has to be supplemented by the inner freedom. And that you get from peace and spirituality, from things like Hatha Yoga and meditation. Without the inner discipline, the outer stuff eventually becomes superficial and boring.
What a load of pedantic shit. So glad Matt wrote this movie and you didn't.
It's honestly a shame this video (and all of AOL's similar videos) don't have more views and likes. So sincerely intimate and insightful.
One of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen.... !!
VIGGO IS AMAZING
💎💜💎
2:50 dito. throughout the last third of the movie i was crying so much. what a beautiful movie
Such a great film and a great performance by Viggo!
This movie is a big inspiration, which suddenly came into my life right in time, when I am searching for meaning of life. I read various books as Neale Donald Walsh, Eckhart Tolle and others and this movie is also one of the most educational things I´ve seen. It tells me "Hey guy, try to look at the world also from another point of view" and that´s exactlly what I am doing whole my life. Sad to say, that watching this great thing gave me more than 9 years of school. In something it really did!
I know the Hobbit really closed the door on Tolkien with the movies but if ever Viggo signed up to be younger Strider again that would be fucking brilliant..
Sujay Pillai the year that The Hobbit book is on. Aragorn has like 6 years.
He is perfection 😚
I love this movie. the kids are so lovable!
The deapth of Viggo Mortensen's Voice is Captain Fantastic
As far as l know this is the first time l see this. Nota Bene somebody has made a fake inlägg
loved the movie, felt for these characters, wanted to be with them. it was about wish fulfillment for me...
Really interesting how Matt Ross explains that the tone of the movie was set in editing. He did a great job of keeping the tone appropriate in such a complex emotional movie.
I loved this movie!!!!
Gavin belson stopped being CEO of hooli, he created such a good movie ;)
arif proklamasi ikr
I love how Viggo is so politically amd philosophically minded but tries to supress it😅
What? Suppress?
Viggo publicly supported Bernie and then voted for JILL STEIN. 👍🏽
did realise gavin belson was behind this movie until i seen this
Oh, man, I LOVE this movie. It makes me laugh when they say, "we don't make fun of peopl"...and the daughter says, "...except Christians." LOL. I'm a conservative, born-again christian, who loves Jesus, and hope ALL people understand their need for salvation, and yet, I could laugh! When viewed from someone else's POV, we all appear ridiculous. Let's stop freaking out about what a movie is saying and find out HOW it can bring us together!
Just watched this movie, absolutely loved it ❤
I'm impressed !
this movie is ought to be used in parenting! i wish im with the movie too, reality sometimes bites!!
Amazing interview, here are some highlights
22:25 power to the people
37:10 being moved and transported by a film
amazing
Parents should be 100% there, it’s their responsibility.
Hooli shit it's Gavin Belson! My mind is blown now!
there are some great cheekbones in this interview
Crazy what his trip to Tibet help him create
Very nice Luis.
Hey...That's Loomis from "Face Off!" How's the Ear doing Loomis? Good to see that bullet to the head didn't keep you down forever! Love the film. Quite the masterpiece in storytelling!
Acabo de ver esta pelicula, me pongo a ver entrevistas y ahi esta Viggo con una bolsa de San Lorenzo. Lo amo
Vigo se trajo un bolsito de San Lorenzo, jaja, lo amo.
I don't understand why they're portraying this movie as left wing. It seems so basic - not political, but common sense. Survival and values, I don't see that in terms of left or right wing. It's only what's right.
Because of the philosophies that they discuss. They're anti China, anti Capitalist and self described trostskyists who celebrate Noam chomsky day. It's just about as left wing as it gets.
I think this movie walks a line of,do you want to accept "truths"(things that can survive epistemology),and those that have little desire for whats real.current Republicans know there was no big election fraud, but don't face it,they've known trump was a idiot, but he brings votes so deny reality
I agree. To me it transcended politics and religion. It was a recognition of the problems we face and an all-out attempt to correct the course of humanity.
Movies I’ve seen the most; 1-The Matrix 2-Captain Fantastic 3-Legends of the Fall 4-Antz 5-Mulan
What about the Mjolnir pendant was it for his character or his actual mjolnir?
Obv part of the character. The model is actually a replica of a historical pendant found on Bornholm. I have one of the same model
@@justarandompally ok
He was Emery Waterman in Rose Red.
Matt Ross is pretty much the opposite of Gavin Belson. Very amusing.
He's the last person I expected to write and direct this. LOVED being surprised by that. He's now one of my favorite creators out there.
You think so? Matt seems like a good guy but also seems extremely confident in himself and speaks and has mannerisms just like Gavin in my opinion.
@@victorious1503 I think I was just noticing the way he spoke and carried himself was similar to Gavin. He used the word Aspirational like 4-5 times in this interview, that seems like a very Gavin thing to do lol.
oh my shitttttttt Gevin fukin Belson was a director?????!?!?!?!!!!???!?!
Luis: I guess you took my speech at "espace" very seriously. That wasn't me. You are mistaken.
If you don't mind, I'll turn off the phone and keep having fun with Courtney...
MFG Frank Langella
Hooli to being a director ??.
Hot. Too Much
Waiting. In Karlaplan - Valhallavägen
This is a great movie!
