We took the first class train from Bangkok to Suratthani.
Hi my name is Lilly and I am an American expat living on the island of Koh Samui in the gulf of Thailand for the last 8 1/2 years. My husband is Thai and his name is Wat. We have 2 half Thai, half American boys named Luke and Leon. Nam is our Nanny and she is like family to us. She is from Myanmar and has worked for us for over 6 years.
Wat and I have owned several businesses together in Maenam Village in Koh Samui. Right now our restaurant Lilikoi Bistro is closed but we will let you know when we reopen.

I love the train rides in Thailand. Lilly and and I took the train on my last trip in March. Yes it’s so cold from the AC and we had no food but I loved it anyway. Love your videos and my sweet family in Thailand.

This video was so fun to watch! We don't know how all 4 of you fit in that room and managed to get a good night sleep - we struggled with just the two of us 😂. The train was super cold too! We got the newest train last week and that was no better in terms of space, but definitely more comfortable! Glad you got back to Samui without any hassle :)

That looked like a nice train ride. Back in the late 80s my family took me on a non-ac train ride from Bangkok to Hat Yai and I remembered it being rough and uncomfortable. I don’t know if I’ll ever do it again but if I do I would have to ride in the first class cabin….or just fly.

Oh my goodness I almost thought this was gonna bring back the memory of my husband’s and my train ride from Surat Thani to Cha Am but we were on an old train and a regular ticket. It was wooden and rickety and so loud and freezing cold over night. But we will always remember if with great fondness and laughter. It was a long 8 hour ride and I had thought we were leaving at 8am but it turned out to be 8PM and then the train was 3 hours late! Hahahaha!!! No great ride seeing the ThaI countryside. Hahahahahha!!! But we will always remember that trip, traveling like most Thai people and smile big. 😄

Such a shame u didn’t get the new 1st class train, I just another you tubers video on it and it looked great. The boys are such champs when travelling. I think I’m going to be able to get to CM in mid December for two months then head down to Phuket and finally get to see Koh Samui. Can’t wait and hope to actually see you all in person!
