- Let’s go ANTIQUING! I couldn’t bring myself to dive into another furniture flip this week so I decided to wander through a local vintage and antique shop with you instead. I hope you enjoy all the amazing treasures here at Angel Mist Treasures and Antiques located in Stoney Creek, New Brunswick.

It’s a hoard, camouflaged as a business. I’m with you that the price makes many of the items out of reach and turns the place into a furniture graveyard.
Exactly what I was thinking!
Very sad that these pieces will never see the light of day and be loved and cherish in someone’s home.
And when the owner passes away, the heirs will have an appraiser pick out a few truly good pieces to list online or auction and the rest will be sold in lots for probably 10% of the list price. Some items will go to landfills. Sad.
Mostly junk.
GIIIIIRRRRLLLL! Nobody with hair that glorious needs to be in the garage this week! Nice!!!
For real!
Off topic but your hair looks great! Love the bangs😍
Yes I totally agree with you there.
Love your hair.... ❤❤
I live them too.
I just came here (before watching the video) to compliment your new hair- super cute!
Exactly! I love your hair down. The cut n style look great. And love the coloring. 😊
Great tour! My heart also sunk looking at the wasted potential 😔There's going to come a point of no return where those pieces decay and are worthless. Yet it seems the owners are oblivious and think a treasure is a treasure. Treasures need to be cared for.
I feel like this is more of a hoarder situation with an antique mall for a face. Only when the owner passes way will people be able to save those pieces of history.
And sadly by that point many of the items may not be saveable, from rot and mould and warping from dampness. What a waste. Such a shame.
Hi Katie,
That hand-painted cart is a vintage wooden wagon from Costa Rica.
It is designed to be used as a bar cart and it disassembles like a puzzle.
It represents a Costa Rican traditional oxcart, or “carreta”.
Basically, it is a handcrafted folk art oxcart wagon bar cart.
Wow, I was commenting it looked like a Sicilian cart from Italy but looking at it again yes, you are right: it's different from the ones I know! It's fun to know we have such a similar tradition, maybe because of similar Spanish influences!
It's so sad to see all that vintage furniture just rotting away. Katie, you could do so, so much with all those pieces!
That place breaks my heart too. The prices definitely say you can look but I’m really not selling. Thanks for the tour.
Over 30 years ago I went to an indoor flea maket and asked the seller said 'no'. That same item is still there to this day! Some people don't really want to sell
Fab hair to go with your fab nails! Also, I love how you took time to give us an aside on how you were no longer looking at price tags and then . . . kept looking at prices. Thanks for taking me along window shopping.
Always love shopping with you! I have very mixed feelings about places like that. Big sign out front says Antiques. Inside the air is old and musty smelling. Collectibles and knick-knacks not in display cases are dirty or faded. Furniture is in poor shape. But everything is priced as though it’s valuable. There are places like this near me. I always feel like I’m looking at someone’s hoard. They price everything really high - or don’t price it at all - because they don’t really want to sell any of it. I still loved wandering around in there today with you and Mr. Salvaged.🌸
Gorgeous hair! Gorgeous Katie!
Katie, I have to agree with you a 100%. I’m thinking this gentleman is a hoarder. I mean he loves antiques n old vintage items but deep down he doesn’t really want to get rid of anything that’s why he prices it so high. There was some wonderful pieces in there n so sad you can’t afford to own any of them.
It was definitely packed to the brim that’s for sure. He had everything you could think of.
Where I live I think we have may 2 or 3 shops that are antiques n most of them sell nothing but glass ware. If it’s not Ironstone I’m not interested. But I do love furniture. So happy years ago I found 2 wash stand commodes. I’m always looking to find something to refinish if it needs to be.
Thanks Katie for taking us along. I enjoyed it. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟
I thought the exact same thing. Hoarders don't want to sell anything. Unfortunately, when the time comes, it will be someone else's problem and most of it will be dumped.
Greetings Katie from Owen Sound! I've seen places just like this up our way. The owner is dreaming if he/she believes their prices are fair. Essentially these businesses are just a storage locker. The owner passed away and all the items inside go for a song if not for free at auction. Very sad state of affairs. I feel your sadness too!
So sad, that is a hoarder with an antique sign. Any antique dealers heart would be hurting just like yours did. Your hair!!!! Beautiful ❤
Katie, I have driven by this place a few times and I always want to stop in but so far have not. Now that you have given us a tour, I'm not sure if it makes me want to visit it more or not. I also felt sad-hearted seeing all the potential in those pieces. Great tour and you looked lovely today!
I agree. I know of a couple of places that are so overcrowded and disorganized (and expenive) that things stay a lot longer than they should.
But what is gorgeous is your hair!
You are rocking the bangs, girl. And I feel your pain about the furniture.
So sad seeing all that beautiful furniture deteriorating like that.
I saw such hand painted, colourful ox carts in Costa Rica. Thank you for reminding me about them and the beautiful holidays.
I agree, the further you went the sadder i feel!! Hopefully someday someone will auction off all those items to the highest bidder before it's too late.
The barrister shelves are so nice, my dad has 2 - 8 ft stacks and he has all of his collectables in them. They have been moved so many times but held up perfectly.
Your hair 😮, to die for! I keep having to go back to listen again. I’m distracted by your AMAZING hair. Wow! ❤
Those duck decoys are amazing
Some nice stuff but o la la these prices !!!!! Nice taking Us with You to this special place !
Gorgeous hair
Such a shame that they’re leaving those marvelous pieces to rot!
At some point, it really becomes more of a museum than an Antiques shop. So heartbreaking to see all those beautiful pieces that may never see the light of day again. 😢
The cart looks like a replica of a folk art ox cart used in Costa Rica. They are usually very colorful .
First off, your videos are fabulous and so well put together. I would encourage you to be bold and ask the owner(s) for an opportunity to partner. You be able to showcase their pieces and split the profit. It does no one any good for pieces to rot. Win-win. Gives them more room to get more stuff. If they aren’t willing to do it maybe whoever inherits or purchases the business will. I can only imagine the stories the owner has of how they got the piece. I think there is an opportunity for a reality tv show here.
This place is so fun, you can spend hours! If you haven't been yet, further down the road about 15 minutes is the Pink church. I'm not sure if that's the name but it's literally a Pink church. It's another amazing spot!
He's a "collector." In reality, a hoarder who doesn't really want to sell his stuff. It goes to ruin and the kids are left to deal with it.
I love listening to you describe what you're doing when you recreate old furniture ❤ Thanks for the outing😉
When I saw your pop-up message ‘MY FURNITURE HEART IS BROKEN’ it made me so sad. I know from watching your channel for about a year now that you really meant this. It truly is heartbreaking to see this place chock full of beautiful restoration pieces that will never be purchased or enjoyed by anyone and will continue to decay. Such a waste of both history and beauty.
Your hair!!!! You are stunning!!!!! Wow!!❤❤❤❤❤
Girl your hair looks fabulous ☺️
I agree, I think they are using it as a museum. One day all of their careful collecting will be for naught as it will end up in an estate sale or the building will collapse or burn then no one will get to enjoy what once meant so much to them.
Whomever inherits this, will be having a massive sale!
Unless they have the same disease.
A collector that isn’t motivated to reduce the collection! Have you tried to make an offer on any of the pieces and see if the owner is willing to negotiate a fair price? It may not be for your following business, but may get a better price on something you want to keep for personal use. Thanks for taking us along 😊
Thanks for the tour. My bff and I would always spend hours looking at awesome "stuff." They bring back memories. When I was little, I was allowed to pick a candle snuffer out of mom's collection and snuff out the dinner candles. Once that was done, I was allowed to leave the table. lol No fast food - eat & run - in my house.
ooh! You look lovely!!! Interesting video too... Thanks for taking us along! kindest regards, k
This reminds me of this amazing barn find I saw on youtube. The guy had hundreds of beautiful cars. And they had been just sitting there for decades. I mean I get that you like them, and I get that the owner of the store likes that stuff but at some point it just kind of comes off as a bit greedy. Let someone buy something and take it back out into the world and enjoy it. Where it was meant to be. Instead of just rotting in the dark somewhere.
Timmies!!!!!!!!!!! I miss Canada so much!!! TKS for sharing and making me homesick! ha!!
Thank you for the tour !
You look amazing !❤❤❤
Love your videos. Love your hair!!!
That was fun. Love antique stores. Love your hair too!
Looking very Glam!
Your hair is gorgeous Katie!! Love the cut and the bangs! Walking through this place makes me sad. 🥰🥰
I've made offers on pieces before, and sometimes they've said yes. Worth a try!
I agree with you on the high pricing. Who ever owns this must have a hoarding problem. Also, love your hair, the colour and bangs. I guess you usually have it pulled back so we can’t see the length.
And when you say something to the proprietor, "They don't eat much." is his comment. When he dies and it's still there, his family will auction it off to the highest bidder.
OMG, your hair is soooo pretty! Wow, love you and your flips.
A lot of awesome stuff
Hair looks amazing! Perfect style for you!
That is a hoarder! Im positive good intentions at first, but completly out of control and wasteful. Those pieces are beautiful. It is tough to see furniture that can be saved as i struggle with the same feelings at times. Fun tour though!
Oh my I could not go back until they call in the auctioneers. Glad they have money to enjoy their items.
Thanks fo sharing plus good to see Doug!
They owe those beautiful antiques and vintage pieces much more than they are providing. It is a shame and such a waste. Breaks my furniture loving heart too but I think there might be hoarding energy with this place.
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous!
The cart is from Sorrento Italy .
Actually made there. And it is all intarsia. I have one just like it. But is in storage because it does not fit in my mobile home. There are different sizes. Also with lives. They are really a work of art.
You can Google "Tavolini di Sorrento" Sorento is a place down from the coast of Naples Italy.
It is actually a serving cart for tea or other delicassies
Love the bangs!!
Oh my gosh! I pop in there to visit by times. Such neat stuff. Some day, I would love a Barristers. Such a shame. Nice that we get to look though. Nice people. Thanks for sharing
Loving your hair…as well as your great content. Happy 🤶 🎄 😊
975 for the Armoire? You gotta be kidding. In France I do get those much older and more beautiful for less than 100 Euro at a Brocante because they are selling badly and there are too much of those around. I do understand that antiques in the amount like in Europe aren’t available somewhere else but the prices in this store are way off even for smaller objects. Just to compare it, I just bought a massive original Louis XVI directoire desk with firegilded applications everywhere on it, made out of solid nutwood with a leather tabletop for 200 Euro because the finish is damaged badly and the joints are loose. Nothing you can’t repair by yourself if you are good in it. And the thing is from around 1790.This is why I am even more shocked about the price for this Armoire. You would go crazy here 😂. Btw the hair looks ❤️
I love shopping with you even though we are on opposite sides of the country ❤️ and your hair looks fabulous 😍 and Mr. Salvaged is a good driver! Lol
Gorgeous hair!!!!!❤
Your hair, ❤ the bangs!
Love your hair. Soooo cute!
Your hair looks great…love the bangs!!!
Love your hair!!!
Great hair. The fringe really suits you.
Love the hair 😊
Love the hair "do" Katie!
I have a friend who has an antique shop and she keeps her excess inventory in a unheated warehouse. It’s doing a ton of damage to the antiques.
This is not an antique shop. It’s a hoarders house.
Love your hair!
LOVE the hair!!!!,
Antique Duck decoys can be very expensive. My wife’s grandfather had a collection that was easily thousands of dollars. Unfortunately they were in his Nova Scotia house and the rest of the family is in the states. Bringing the collection out of Canada would have been cost prohibitive (something about inheritance taxes and import fees etc) so we sold all but maybe ten decoys.
Wow your hair 😍😍😍
I love your hair. The bangs look great. I agree, prices are too high.
I love your hair!!!
At 3:52 there's a glass perfume bottle with an Asian style building in the stopper, I have one of those! My grandma gave it to me, but I've never seen another one in any local antique store or anywhere. Cool! ---after watching, I remember why I don't go to antique stores much, I always feel a little ill after visiting one. I think my brain gets so overwhelmed looking at all the stuff and trying to figure out what things are. I don't know, even watching this is giving me a little of that.
That hair!!! I don't think I have ever seen your hair down on your videos. It is.....AMAZING!
The painted cart I believe it’s from CostaRica. Inside it is a bar cart!
I'm distracted by your new hairstyle which is GORGEOUS!
Katie - yu look great, I love the hair!!
So love your hair
I have my mother's gold depression glass That was given to them as wedding gifts in 1946
Oh my Gadddddddd - Gorgeous hair! Just like Texas! No, kidding - so beautiful Katie ;)
I think it sad too. Are the owners hoarders? If not, why not let go of the stuff at reasonable prices to get it back into use and circulation. You're correct that things need to be taken care of, refinished, oiled, cleaned, and used! Otherwise it's just junk in a graveyard.
NICE HAIR KATIE! 😊
In my community, we have two antique malls and an architectural salvage yard. I think that it’s hard thing to wrap one’s brain around is that old/antique doesn’t mean valuable or scarce or rare. Even if the owner of the store cut the prices by 75 percent I doubt that the items would sell any faster. So to me, each their own, the store very well might be a personal collection.
It would be nice if there could be a collab to get the pieces/items that are still usable to people who need them...previously unhoused setting up for the first time, domestic violence victims getting away, people who just need books to practice reading.......thank you for your sharing!
Love the hairdo Katie! Really suits you. At 6.33 couldn't quite believe it but there was a small octagonal tea caddy with Chinese designs on it, I've got the same thing at home which I think came from Grandpop's house. So mine is quite old, funny to see the same thing on the other side of the Atlantic!
You look adorable - love hair!!!
Just started the video. You look so pretty. Your hair is gorgeous.!
My FIL had a hoard of treasures and junk that he refused to sell, donate, or let me help dust and organize in the 30 years he was retired. He'd just laugh and say his son and I could deal with it after he died. We eventually told him to donate the house and contents to his church because we didn't want to deal with disposing of any of it, and that is what he ended up doing. I imagine that 95% of it was thrown away after he died, and the house had serious structural damage from neglect. We didn't live nearby and weren't interested in sacrificing a year of our lives cleaning up his mess and dealing with repairing the house after he died. We just walked away and never looked back.
Hair looks great
This isn’t business, it’s a warehouse. Always enjoy your perspective and commentary, though. The owner would do well to take some tips from you on how to move inventory, unless the they’re a hoarder.
It's sad to see all that wonderful stuff getting dusty, moldy, rotten and swollen. There's an antique place near us that's packed to the brim and priced to the sky, and we've stopped visiting it for that reason. Life is full of enough other frustrations, lol.
Gads, that really is heartbreaking.
