I love years like 2006, 2007 and 2008. The glory years of the 00's. So many high quality anthems and then hilarious joke acts that you can still bop to. Let 2021 be full of quality and fun.
And 2021 truly was a quality year! :D I would add 2009 to that list also.
@@SelfMedicatedOnHalloumi 2009 was epic. Back then that stage Russia created was a technological marvel.
Literally could not disagree more. These three years are for me the worst years of Eurovision. Only three bops every year and full of jokes. The whole 2000s actually is the dark days of Eurovision for me. Things started to pick up again in 2009 when the juries were reintroduced.
@@tmdgcmct9756Wow, 2010s were pretty bad Imo, 2000s were probably the best. Later it was easier to fix the winners with the "jury" voting so that the west European countries could win sometimes. Also, I highly doubt Azerbaijan winning wasn't rigged or giving the Victory to Ukraine in 2014 and 2022 for political reasons. Everyone and their grandma knew Sweden was gonna win this year too, even if the song is super boring. 2000-2014 are probably the best Eurovision years
@@kendzo92 since the jury votes were reintroduced the televote winner has only failed to win 4 times... Two of those were western countries in Italy and Norway.
Western countries such as Norway, Germany, Sweden (2012 edition), Denmark, Austria, Portugal and Italy would have won with the televote only.
As a Serb. I'm proud that some of these iconic entries were performed in my country.
Ani Lorak: How to Create Perfect ESC Performance
Belarus: Hasta la vista, baby!
Hurricane: Hippity Hoppity, this is now our property
Don't forget Ukraine 2003 Olexandr Ponomaryov Hasta la vista!!!
Man, what a great year.
My #1 is Turkey.
My #43 is a turkey.
Thank you for that joke, 2008.
I always forget how strong the competition was in 2008 😍 so many good songs
I thought Germany had a big chance of winning, until i heard them live!
The bands name was "No angels"
I bet they wished they could disappear
The bests year of 2000's
Ukraine, Armenia and Greece were all doing similar things. Amazing things but similar things. So I think they had all cancelled each other out which somehow lead to a Russian victory (In fairness, 2009 looked epic). My personal favourites from this year are Georgia, North Macedonia and Portugal (Portugal's my favourite).
That's exactly what I thought of 2008
Ukraine could have probably won it if it hadn't been for Greece and Armenia also doing the same thing
2008 was short dresses and 4 dancers. That a how Dima broke out of the pack.
Yep, 3 lovely ladies were controlling the show in 2008, and only Dima Bilan managed to disturb their party.
Serbia was standing out but unfortunately people did not want the contest to be held in the same country, we have the real issue of not wanting that the winning country do this in a row
Thx for likeing Georgias song ❤
San Marino got robbed this year tbh.
France and Spain were ahead of time!! :D
Does that mean every time France gets a terrible result, it's ahead of its time? To that extent, we're officially time travellers !

Armenia, San Marino, Norway, Turkey and Albania my favourites and a question
I need to vote in all videos or only one?
Besides some hilarious entries this year was such a tough competition. Many of them them were a winning material. My favorites were Armenia and Norway. Russia's victory well deserved, nevertheless. Serbia could have won twice in a row.
2008 was absolutely BONKERS!!!

Armenia 2008 still best
Best ones are France and Estonia
I don’t know why, but the mid-nineties Eurovision éditions age better than late nouties ones ?
The 00s were dark days for the Eurovision. It took Germany and the UK to threaten to withdraw to make the EBU finally take notice.
In which order are the songs?
The running order of the semi-finals, then the Big 4 and Serbia in the order they performed in the final
I was 9 years old then
Irlande Douze Point tho
My god, 95% of these were absolutely horrendous. How people made it through a whole night watching Eurovision in the 00s is beyond me.
Much better than 2010s. Especially 2023! Probably the worst Eurovision since I started watching in 1999
@@kendzo92 💀 covid must've hit you hard

Sweden deserved more points! Greece was also very nice! Germany to bad the vocals where very bad. A lot of circus acts that year.
Chiki chiki the winner
Serbia
Israel
France
Israel should have won!
Probably my least favourite year from the recent contests. Too many 'joke acts' for me.
This year was almost as bad as 2004 and 2002. Most entries aged very very badly in all aspects.
Too many joke entries, why?
Verka happened in 2007 enough said
It was mostly a protest against the ESC's transformation into "Yugovision" (i.e. Balkan states propping each other up in the rankings by only giving points to each other).
My best guess is that, among other reasons, most countries did not want to win. Remember, 2008 was in the midst of a Global Crisis, and many countries were not in a good financial position at the time. Sending a fun joke entry could potentially give people something to laugh about, while hopefully pushing the financial burden of hosting Eurovision on someone else.
The televote.
