We are already counting down to the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. We do that by looking back to recent editions of Europe's favorite TV show. This time we go to 2008, when the contest was held in Belgrade, Serbia - Zábava
This was an unforgetable year! All the Nordic contries had 5 diffrent genres! :D FANTASTIC! :D

@@diiegu21 2008 had too much filler the segments could be dragged on too long and if they ran out of ideas they could just repeat the segment to fill up the running time

2008 I thought that the Eurovision Song Contest can't become any worse and hoped for a miracle and then, 2009, ESC finally became fun again! By changing the rules and reintegrating a jury, the niveau of the participants and their music rose up to a level way better than I could have imagined! Thank you very much, EBU!

this was my favourite ESC so far! so many good songs and all are different :D Armenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Finland, Iceland, Turkey, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, so various! I loved it! :D
I had watched it the year before, but this was the first year I really payed attention to the Contest. Why? It was during my being obsessed with Pirates phase, and Latvias entry for 2008 will remain my favourite ESC song EVER

Armenia's song still plays in my head. (Ke-Ke-Ke-Kele!!!) Ukraine was astonishing. Greece - goddness. Spain (EL Robokopo). Serbia had a nice song.

+George Austin Tay Please tell me you are kidding. I always thought Greece entry was average but compared with most of these entries it is a fucking masterpiece. Greece, Russia, SERBIA and Norway are good. The rest - OMG. Either the awful staging, or horrible voice, or horrible song, or everything.

what are you even talking about? That year was full of fun, uptempo songs as well as good ballads. Greece, Armenia and Ukraine were memorable and catchy. Serbia, Norway and Georgia had beautiful ballads. Czech Republic had a trashy entry that was my guilty pleasure. Russia's song was just trash tho

It was really great time here in Belgrade! I think that we made a brilliant show and I think that every guest had a good time! And we will try again next year ;)

2008 was a great year for Eurovision!!! I'm Russian, so I'm biased in favor of our song: at least it had a deeper meaning to it. But I loved so many other songs too! Spain, Ukraine, Armenia, Portugal, Sweden, Czech Republic, and my personal favorite, Slovenia.

IMO 2008 was the best year ever. Israel is my alltime favourite. Albania, Turkey, France and Iceland are still on my playlist. Finland was good this year too! The only minus was the bad winner :(

Some great songs, but I think the UK one was VERY underrated. That's was a great song.
It deserved to be in the top half, some of the other songs were dire.
