Another super bright world. I have to change the contrast on my TV to watch these. Also, how do they keep those white robes clean out in the forest. It's as if they have a film crew.
So this is another drama I couldn't finish. Xu Kai wasn't ready to be playing this character. He walked around awkwardly throughout (graceful he was not) and as you already stated it's filled with every overdone cdrama trope. I have to say every time you provided an example clip, it was always just who I was thinking of. Let us know if you stick with it.

@@RoseNZieg It wasn't until halfway through an episode that I realized it was him. The wig style is so severe on him that he was a little hard to recognize right off the bat and I think this was his first costume drama. Please correct me if I'm wrong there.
So if I remember correctly this drama is based on a webnovel about a girl who transmigrated years before this story takes place. I have issues with the next episode because of colorism. But I did continue to watch it. I guess I like stories where the FL doesn’t immediately fall head over heels for the ML and chooses herself many times.
Good to know that, it's rare to have a female lead who chooses herself over romance :D
Yea but she does eventually fall into the regular tropes. And there is alot of that shifu/student dynamic which is a major motivation for her actions (although its not explained as much as in the webnovel). This show had potential but the creators seemed to have lost their passion too early! And definitely don’t watch the end.

I must admit I did not like the drama but I watch it because I liked the exit song and mainly because of Xu Kai Cheng and Fu Jin, the girl deserves better roles. I saw her in Shining for one thing and I like her since then. Among all Xu Kai Cheng roles in costume dramas, I am gonna stay with the one in Novoland Pearl Eclipse.
Yes! That's his most interesting role so far :D
I regret watching this show. :'< only because too much made no sense and the ending was too vague
I think alot mde no sense because they tried to adapt it from a novel and tried to add modern drama tropes to it. Also, i agree the ending sucked!
