    I've been riding mountain bikes since the days of rigid steel frame bikes. I've seen the introduction of suspension, and every other improved technologies. I've ridden XC bikes, DH bikes, fat bikes, trail bikes, hardtails, full suspension, single speed, 26ers, 29ers, mullets and everything else that has been introduced over the past 35 years. I think EMTB is one of the best technologies to arise and I look forward to seeing the technology advance.
    There are a lot of people that don't understand what EMTBs are or how they benefit riders. Based on this ignorance there is a lot of hate and misconceptions. First off, EMTB isn't MTB, it's a different type of riding. Some people say, "it's cheating" but what are you cheating? If you were in a race with people without EMTB, that's cheating, but EMTB is just fun.
    The arguments I hear are that it's too easy and you don't get any exercise, but I don't ride bikes for exercise, I ride bikes for fun. I still get exercise when I ride EMTB because pedaling uphill isn't the only form of physical excursion. It take a lot of energy to ride fast, over technical terrain. With EMTB I can ride longer, farther and faster. Also because this is still new to me, I have found a new love for riding. I've ridden 1000s of miles on a regular bike at all the spots within a days drive. I started to get burned out riding.
    One year ago my wife and I bought the Turbo Levo Experts and we love them. We ride every chance we can get and we ride twice as much as we did before EMTB. We used to ride a lot of lift serviced DH trails on DH bikes, but now we mostly ride the EMTB and have just as much fun.
    I worked in a few shops and I have a good knowledge of bikes, brands and different technologies. I used to work for a Specialized dealer and I was turned off by some of their business practices. I loved their bikes, but not their reputation and after owning many, many specialized bikes, I swore I wouldn't buy another one. Then I started researching EMTB. After much research I came to the conclusion that Specialized makes the best EMTB. I can not deny that they are leaders in innovation and their products are top notch.
    I've put about 1000 miles on my Turbo Levo expert in just under 1 year, and other than replacing wearable items and upgrades, I've had zero problems, and absolutely love my bike.

      EMTB was a game changer for my wife and I! Basically the only source we need for fun and exercise! Thank you for your input! Hope you and your wife will continue to have fun on EMTBs for many years to come

    This was the encouragement I needed! I spent last summer with my total beginner gf on my Slash, and while she didn't hate it within those first 3 months, an extra boost would have made so much difference. That's why I just bought a Gen 2 Turbo Levo for her, and now I get my Slash back! Thanks for sharing your story, it really helps soften the blow of the price tag.

    After watching videos after videos on both the Kenevo Expert and the Turbo Levo Comp Carbon, I just ordered the Levo comp carbon last night! It is my first eMTB at 51 yo, totally outta shape and haven't ridden a MTB over 25 years LOL still stoked specially after watching your video about your wife getting on one as a beginner MTBiker. I went w/ the S3, I'm 5'10 178ish lbs w/ a short inseam of about 31. I was after a S4 but not only they are out of that size, I also watched other videos on 5'10 riders riding both sizes and they liked the S3 a bit more for being nimble and playful. Thank you for making videos like this, it helps us newbies immensely w/ the difficult and pricey decision making! Keep them coming Frankie and regards to the wife killing it on a turbo Levo!! - Adrian

    Just bought mine last weekend. Um, total game changer. It's my first eMTB and I'm now able to enjoy tons of hilly terrain near my house that's just way too steep for my "acoustic" bike and my 54 year-old self.

    Totally agree I bought another brand (Bulls) and I recently bought a Levo Expert and I love the quality and ride performance of it. I sized up to a S5 and I am happy I did. This bike rips. Levo as your first E bike is a great investment.

    Do the XX1 rear bolt upgrade on derailleur. (Gold if you're a pimp.)No more play. Get GX shifter or above if you have NX. Makes low end shift like butter.

    My experience with Specialized is excellent. Those bikes have been solid with extremely few issues which were honoured throught the warranty. Did try a European brand but found the experince stressfull. Will stick with spesh thank you. Must say this though. Regardless of brand, if there is a persistant issue i'd hope they'd upgrade to an updated and fully reliable part, so the customer would not be left with a money pit as their layered warranties expire throught the bikes life.

    I’m in the market for an e-bike for my wife 😃 She’s a total beginner and it’s encouraging to hear you say these things. I’m looking at the 2022 levo but also at the Timp Peak… any advice you can offer? Thanks man. Great video

    • @frankiesemtb
      @frankiesemtb  Před rokem +1

      Hello Milton! tough choice! and with the current sale on Turbo Levo it's hard to pass it up. which two models are you comparing? I can likely help you solve some questions and worries you may have. we tested the new timp Peak and my wife was really impressed with how planted it felt and gave her more confidence to push a bit more. but honestly that is due to the 170mm travel and the suspension kit it had. you may have to spend alittle more on the Levo to get that confidence level. on the other hand the turbo Levo has a more powerful motor and more playful/maneuverable, likely an easier bike to learn mountain bike fundamentals. But with that said the TImp Peak is much forgiving to ride out of the box and could mean she falls in love with the sport much faster. PM me on IG @senditfrankie love to help fellow tuber!

    Would you recommend the base model Turbo Levo Alloy or the Fezzari Wire Peak Elite for wife’s first EMTB (or FS)? Cautious 45 yr old rider on Utah trails.

    • @frankiesemtb
      @frankiesemtb  Před rokem +1

      I think both are great bikes! For now I would pick the turbo Levo over the wire peak… but I believe something new will be coming out from fezzari very soon! And given that you are in Utah I would go with fezzari since they are located in Salt Lake City.

    I really wanted to buy one, went in the store and tried the smallest S2 size and it was still too big for me at 5’4”… my feet didn’t even go close to touching the ground. Bike felt way too big. Not sure what was going on…

    • @frankiesemtb
      @frankiesemtb  Před rokem +1

      My wife is 5’4” and she rides a 2018 turbo Levo and her feet is well planted on the ground. Did the bike shop you go to adjust the seat post at all?

    • @letsmap
      @letsmap Před rokem

      @@frankiesemtb Yeah unfortunately - the store employee and I checked everything and my feet were dangling a inch or two off the ground even with adequate rear sag - I'm quite heavy so that definely wasn't a problem getting the bike lower. I think I need to give the bike an actual ride outside the store to see why it felt off.

    • @letsmap
      @letsmap Před rokem

      @@frankiesemtb I'm actually wondering if the bike could've been mislabeled as a S2 when it might be an S3? lol... I'm going to try comparing the S2 Levo with an S2 Stumpjumper Evo... I tried the Evo as an S2 and my feet were def planted on the ground
