Important clarification: the dive bezel doesn't tell divers how much air is in the tank. It's used to time your bottom time because you need your max depth and time underwater to calculate decompression stops on the way up. The unidirectional feature is correctly for safety (better to give yourself a little more time on the safety stops than not enough).
The myth that it tells you how much air you have left is impossible for a couple reasons:
    1. We all go through a tank of air at different rates depending on your fitness, etc.
    2. The watch has no way of knowing how full your tank was filled to start with
    3. The watch doesn't know if you're diving with Nitrox or how fast you're breathing

I innocently bought watches. About three years ago, I had a stroke!(lived!) in the ensuing rehab process, getting my dive watches serviced, and running, has become part of my rehab process. Much to my surprise, I seem to own several 7s26 seiko divers. Not that I could buy more,if I could, but I am Grateful for what I have! Now, healing enough to buy more watches? It is what keeps me going! Thanks!

Only one G Shock in an actual ISO6425 rated dive watch, and it's the Frogman.
Water resistance has its own ISO ratin, and it has nothing to do with diving,as the standards specifically exclude scuba diving and water sports for a long period of time.
Casio gets around the need for a bezel on a dive watch,by way of a "Dive Mode."
In this mode, both hands go to 12 o'clock, and minutes past 12,is how long you've been down. The ticking second hand is the "operation indicator" so you know the watch is working.
I'm not getting one,but was very curious how it is an ISO6425 without a dive bezel.
      So I did some research.
I do have 2 Casioak, one is the gold Bluetooth.

The last time I really wanted a specific watch was last week in a club.
A rare event if there is one, and I was thinking : damn I wish I had a Casio F91, any plastic version, maybe a little funky one. Weird thought I know.
That's it. I wanted tough, reliable, easy to read, compact and cheap. There's a little bit of room for fancy in there, maybe an orange one or a very retro looking one, but that's what separates a tool from a narrative. One serves a purpose, the other is us telling ourselves how much purpose it could serve if it was an actual tool 😂

To my understanding the problem with Radium lume is the manufacturing, where it's decay products get inhaled and adsorbed.
Wearing a piece with it wouldn't do any harm as the watch adsorbs the radiation, but it is something to be mindful of when opening the piece up, including unscrewing the crown.
The reason for testing watches at greater pressures than they will reach is that while swimming, the local pressure will be much higher from the watch displacing water.
If it's only rated for the depth it's used at, water might still get in if the piece is not kept fully still or experiences any current otherwise.
When I did dive, we used a pressure gauge to tell how much air was left in the tank, in the shallow dives we did we did not even bring any timekeeping device.
But a dive computer or at least/as a backup a dive-watch with tables is important for decompression times when diving deeper.
This to safely let adsorbed nitrogen dissipate without forming bubbles inside arteries, that being as dangerous as it sounds.
While my newest watch, a Vostok Komandirskie, isn't a true diver, it's practically built like an Amphibia but with a thinner case-back and maybe lacking a pressure ring around the crystal.
Ever since picking it up it's gotten most of my wrist-time, even displacing my previous wrist-hog, my modded G-Shock GBX-100.
The specific model I have has a quirky double 24h readout of sorts, which is what made me pick it up and actually use it for timekeeping in the first place.
This as I personally use the 24h notation system all the time and while I fully understand it, find the 12h system inconvenient from all it's associated weirdness.

Out of the more than 20 watches in various places around my apartment, only one of them is a diver: a Zelos Swordfish 40 in sage. Gorgeous thing it is, even when the lights go out.
I also have a Seiko Flightmaster as a similarly robust and capable 200m non-dive watch, two G-Shocks, and a DW-291, the successor to the DW-290 digital diver Tom Cruise wore in Mission Impossible 1. Working so much with my hands I don't like my watches chunky, so most divers don't hold much appeal to me. I have a ton of field and sports type watches instead. And Casios, of course.

@@anima201 Cool! That is an awesome Seiko - I think it was neat how I showed how AR coating actually works. Some watch reviewers think its about any reflecting at all but it's all about tamping down light reflection. That watch being specifically designed without AR coating so it can be used to signal for help. I don't know that anyone else has pointed that out

@@AstroVanTribe That was a cool and interesting review for sure. I like that I can flash-blind my neighbours or signal to my kids to come home from the park all with my glaring non-AR coating Seiko.

The dive watch is the penultimate of all watch types. I’ve grown a tremendous infatuation with the Seiko Turtle and variations; from Land Tortoise to the Japan exclusive baby turtle. To me, a US Marine Corps veteran, the dive watch is the only watch that I can wear to a desk and to the field.

Not necessarily my favorite style, but I can respect it. I only have one true dive watch in my collection… and that’s the Duro lol.
Though I do plan to get a vintage Seiko Tuna, but that’s less about it being a diver and more that the specific one I want debuted specifically on my birth year and it’s the only watch of my birth year that I liked the look of even remotely.

No question. They look fantastic clean, dirty, scratched up, never have to worry about them getting wet, and the bezel works kinda as a GMT using the pip as the 12 marker. Oh and it's legible as hell normally, and at night. Oh better than risking a 30m seagull 1963 when surfing 😁 and they look fantastic on a tropic, unlike a bel canto. So even if the steel bracelet is sketchy, a rubber strap fits like a glove. My favourite? Not my challenge diver, as fantastic as it is...

As a daily, I love me a good dive watch. For my purposes at work, I tend to wear a field watch for two reasons over a diver: first, the full compliment of numerals is necessary for me. Second, slightly smaller cases sizes on most field watches means I can move, twist, grab, reach a little bit easier. In the looks department, however, I agree that divers just cant be beat.
