Yeh, the samurai is a definite love story! I have it for more than 3 years yet I still look at it admiringly when I wear it ☺️. The dial, case shape and finishing is sooooo interesting!

I have the green sumo SPB103J1 and the PADI Sumo SPB181J1. I swamped the bracelets out for two strapcodes and IMO they look stunning, get lots of compliments. Great video 👍
I was in cash converters the other week and spotted an SPB077 in the cabinet priced £450. Took a close look and it was mint. Looks unworn. Not even the usual marks on the clasp, boxed with paperwork. I asked if there was any flexibility in the price. The girl went away, came back with £400. I said £350 sounds better, so she goes away again, comes back and says YES 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 I'm wearing it as I write. A nos £1000 watch for almost a third the retail price. It's my new fave. There's just something about Seiko divers isn't there.

I've said it before and echoing your thoughts, those JDM quartz chronographs are incredible for the money. I have the 013 black dial, and am strongly considering adding the 009 silver dial. Very nice collection, Russ.

What a great collection! I must say I am not a big fan of Seiko myself mostly because of the case sizes and thicknesses they put out these days. But I really like what you have here. Amazing. Good mix of performance and visual attractiveness. Fantastic.

Great collection. I'm wearing my snkl23j1 today. Hopefully my 4th and my wife's 1st Seiko will be delivered today. We ordered the 55th anniversary seiko 5 peanuts watches. The pilot style for her and the diver style for me.
Love the collection, there are a few in your seiko collection I am eager to add. Capt willard, land shark and Arnie are must haves for me.

Thumbs up 👍🏽 for the Samurai as well. Been on my wrist for over a year now. The movement, that dial, the feel of the bezel…it’s my favorite daily watch.
Upgraded to the Strapcode Hexad which looks like it was made for the angular Samurai. Killer watch!

I totally agree about Seiko being the best and my favorite brand. BUT!! Citizen made a watch that for me is the best of the best. I fell in love with it when I was a kid and still in love after years owning it. It is the Promaster Aqualand (JP2000-08E) and you SHOULD make a video review about that MASTERPIECE! 😂🎉🤪💪✌️🖐️
Great collection! Have you seen or tried the SNE 573? I wear mine almost every day.
I did the same 2 years ago and sold my SARB033 and SARB017. Was not wearing them enough as well. I really tried to keep them in the collection especially the Alpinist. I even bought it the 2 tone bracelet but it made the lug to lug too long. Love your collection, missed out on the SKX013.

The one I like the most is that simple quartz chrono with the purple dial! For the open space: a nice more sporty Presage maybe? Nice show!

I'm pleased that you like your PADI mini Turtle, I love mine, I wear it on either a Barton Elite silicone pale brown strap or a Strapcode jubilee.
Love the collection! Makes me smile that I own a good few of those, my two personal favourites that I own are the seitona (69 version not go large) and the Arnie.. absolute quality wstches
I like my seikos, prospex monster, kinetic diver, and a landshark!, my favourite. Also have an mtm, luminox, Gshock, and a proper sub date. Great channel.

Compliments on a fine collection there MWC. I have liked Seiko ever since seeing Roger Moore in Moonraker wearing one as a kid at Christmas one year. My Seiko is an SRPG29, have had it a couple of years or so and I must say out of all my watches this is my go to one, there aren’t many days when I’m not wearing it. I love the size, it’s not flashy, auto, 100m, great lume etc - it’s also the backup watch that I always take with me on holiday. It’s fantastic.
I've really slowed down buying Seiko's lately, but I do have some absolute stalwart Seikos in the collection that will never leave. Surprised about the dumping of the Alpinist as it's one of my favourites, but each to their own, right 😉. Another great video MWC

I love Seiko watches since my old man bought one for himself new in 1969. That thing was stunning and ran for decades. Anyway Seiko would do well to do a 60’s -70’s reissue line and especially the Pogue. I’d buy that watch in a heartbeat, because I love the story it brings. You’ve chosen your Seiko collection … wisely.
Just bought the SBP207J1. love it and very accurate +2 seconds a day max
That 55th Anniversary model is now my third most worn watch, behind my Seiko SRPJ91 (another retro inspired revival model) and my Casio AE1200, love it. I’m not a sporty fellow, but the style just kills. Fantastic collection!

I’m relatively new to the hobby and love Seiko but I find that being late to the game I missed out on getting a mini turtle.

I like the Green Willard the best too. I bought mine used on eBay for around $700 USD a little over a year ago. Very cool watch.
I’ve never bought a watch back that I’ve sold but I’m seriously tempted to get another Arnie. I’ve owned a lot of Seiko’s over the years and that has to be one of the best.

I love my flightmaster! I bought it for £200 this year, with the NDC strap. It’s super busy but wears way smaller than the specs say. Those lugs do a lot of lifting here!

I’m new to Seiko. Bought a square blue faced Recraft. Had to ditch the bracelet , couldn’t get it to fit right. I love it. I’m thinking my next one will be the Alpinist.

The 38.5 SNE Diver Collection and the Panda Seitona are my most recent Seiko editions and I love them. If you’re talking about full blow Rolex “style” from a reputable brand non homage you can’t beat them.
The SKX013 is such a great simple little watch. I totally love it for it for it's simplicity and the good quality. The fact that it is a true divers watch also adds to that!
I do agree this year is better. I love Seiko too. I am new to watches and have one automatic and will probably get a Seiko quartz to add to my collection. What’s your opinion on Seiko quartz watches?
Possible additions? I can think of a couple:
Maybe one from the SNE line of solar divers. Mid-sized, so on a par with the SKX013.
Maybe a Baby Alpinist? Or one from the Laurel Alpinist re-interpretation line?
That space is crying out for an SLA model - something just a bit slicker and higher end - to give the full range of Seiko madness. It’s a great collection you have here - and it’s frightening to think you could fill another 2 boxes easily with classics from Seiko you haven’t got. What a brand!

I have that Seiko dark samuari save the ocean for a while, absolutely love it...but just seeing those lovely end-links for the first time, looks good on the Samuari. I disagree its very blue. The dial does not shiny blue till it hits lots of light, stunning
I know what you mean with the compass bezel Alpinists. I have two and I just can't gel with them, the SPB209J1 and the SPB355J1. I bought the 1959 Alpinist SPB245J1 and it just hits the spot for a field watch compared to the other two. I don't wear the others at all because they just feel too 'dressy'.

My blue Land shark (I think the blue one is actually known by a different name which I can't remember!) Is my daily beater. I think it must be about 10 to 15 years old now. The aluminium bezel insert got a little scratched up so I bought a ceramic bezel insert to replace it in the same blue colour and HELLO......suddenly it's raised it's game and is a better looker than it ever was. Still a great watch and I love the old 5 applied logo. Great Channel mate, always a good watch.........err to watch.
Mighty Fine collection there Sir. But, Russ, you need a tuna at some point mate ;). I'm currently wearing my S23635J1 and I love it. Speaking of the Pogue my Auntie had been having a bit of a tidy out and asked me if I wanted two watches she had found that once belonged to my Uncle, I nearly fell over when she presented me with a Seiko 6139-6002 & a Seiko 6117-6400, I couldn’t believe I had the Pogue in my hands. Both watches need some serious attention and I've got a few options re them being looked at so we'll see what happens.

Thanks for sharing your collection and for the reference to My Retro Watches. I find it hypnotizing to watch someone restore old watches and see them come to life. I’m in « awe » of these people who have the talent and know how to do that 🙌🏼😌

I do have a question for everyone… don’t you need a lume something at 3 o’clock to be ISO dive certified? I could be wrong and probably am but the Seikos you mentioned didn’t have that… that I could see.

You have never mentioned the solar chrono V172-OAGO with the compass on a leather strap. May be too busy for you but I'd like your opinion.
The Seiko I’ve had my eyes on is the Presage SPB359J. It’s a tribute to the Laurel which was Seiko and Japan’s first wristwatch made in 1913.

The first hit that began my descent into automatic watch madness was the turtle version of your save the ocean Samurai - got it in 2018 if I remember correctly. That blue dial is absolutely stunning in sunlight - beautiful watch.
Just looked it up - it’s the SRPC91; got it in October of 2018. A year later got an SRPD09 to go with it - same gradiated blue face but in a black Samurai case.
Will be get the bezel face today ?
For something a little different, what about the Explorer-esque SARG009 or SARG011?

Shame to leave an Alpinist-shaped hole in the watch box though. I’ll never part with my SARB017 - my first “proper” watch, loads of memories attached and still gets plenty of wear. What about the less dressy SPB155 flavour, or the new SPB377 GMT?

If trying out Citizens, you should try out the new Citizen Tsuki-yomi atomic watch. It looks to be great!
If you have not tried baby marinemaster aka mm200 I highly recommend testing it out.
Seiko spb383…bought it and i love it
My first automatic watch was the siko 5 gmt I bought it right before the price reduction other than that An amazing watch when I picked up the swatch blancpain. I understood why it's so recommended for the price
Narrowing down my collection to 5 watches has left me with just the one Seiko... King Samurai on black CWR Rubber. Awesome watch. Awesome strap. But I've not got a Chrono.... Panda SpeedTimer incoming soon 😁
