Easiest fix is just replacing the DVD player itself in the trunk. You navi screen still works hence why its displaying the message, but your DVD player has failed.

I updated my '01 nav system with a 2013 disk knock-off from eBay (read many places those work) and now I get a "No Disk Detected" error message. Not sure if I ruined the navigation player. Should I try my current nav system with the updated OEM disk? Or do you think I need to update to the '04-'06 system with latest version OEM nav disk my navigation ? A bit of an investment to do both on an awesome car that unfortunately isn't worth much these days. Have you heard of using a cleaning disk as a first try? Suggestions please, thank you!
The system is still working since it’s able to not detect the disk. Play it safe and get rid of that eBay disk, find a legit disk/seller and that should work. I just happened to get lucky with a junked 04 LS430. I had gone through 3 of those and even an SC430 navigation player too. I haven’t used a desk cleaner since I’d just swap units, also I’d take them apart and clean them

Is it an every day issue? Only on cold starts? Dependent on weather? I've had the screen be non responsive on first starts in cold weather, but generally the screen was always responsive. May be an issue with the screen itself

It might, if you replace the Navi DVD player and screen is still black your display may be the issue. Either a fuse or something else is causing the screen not to be on

Hey man, been researching a lot for weeks, got a 2006 LS430, and it has this Taiwan machine- 86841-48020, currently runs a v9 .01.50, gen 4 disk of Taiwan navigation map, main prob I just want to change the language, its in Chinese/Japanese(not sure) and there isn't any language option, is there any way to change this? There isn't any language option in the hidden service menu either, glad if you could reply 🙏
so you put a facelifted LS430 navigation system, with series 4 disk, in your 2001 LS430? what is the benefit from doing that? because i might look into doing it
McCall Young the facelift has more colors and options for navigating over the prefacelift. Generally looks a better and I feel works smoother. Some menus are different, but there is a Lexus Navigation video on here that covers the 04-06 gen Navi
McCall Young it does change the navigation menus. Audio, air and maintenance screens are unchanged, I think those screens run off a different computer. However, the only issue I did run into was that I lost the voice control ability, I swapped in another 01-03 unit and the system wouldn’t activate when pressing the voice button. Thought it would work on the 04-06 unit but it too doesn’t work. Must be the type of player equipped/trim package with the car
Happened to me when I was trying to set my birthday in the 2 free spots. Its a program digit limitation on the year. Mileage will still work, but anything set by date will not. Same issue was reported on various news outlets for Honda, but generally any car this old with onboard maintenance tracking will have this issue

@@BEANCROAKLY That's an issue, because the legit discs are from a decade ago, which is totally useless to me. Apparently the non-oem discs that are from 2016 or so do work from what I have read. Might me worth your time..
Hi I've got a 2008 gs 450h and it wont recognize the dvd I made a mistake and eject it a few months ago now it tries to read but keeps eject. Is is the dvd or the player ..

I’ve gotten mine dvd box half way out. It doesn’t eject any discs tho. “Unable to read dvd correctly. Check if the dvd is damaged or dirty”.

You can still use the radio and AC functions. It’s just that you won’t have navigation and it’ll display a error message

Can I burn a disc containing the file and then putting it in the car without buying the disc? Would there be a file from the disc online?

I tried an ebay burned disc n it didn't work AND it wouldn't revert back to the original disc...

That would be done through the player, try and source a US player and see if that helps. Would probably need to get a US disc, maybe tho

@@mraiwa1000 if it’s $7 it’s most likely a knockoff disc. Expect the OEM discs, even used discs to be a little more pricey.
