Winter Bushcraft Hike in the Northern Wilderness - Canvas Lavvu - Swedish Torch Cooking - Snow

- Finally out in some winter with snow and cold weather. Bushcraft and simple but good food, three day overnights and hike. First night I woke up to steps maybe 50 m south of my camp. Well not "steps", more like branches breaking etc. like someone running through the brush. Hard to hear exactly because the wind was blowing quite hard. Making 110 videos in the wild has given me these rules to live by in my shooting. Example: Always follow a shot through even though you don't feel it's good. Or always have the camera ready to record and if something out of the ordinary happens, press record without thinking and mess with the buttons and settings later. So I pressed record instantly and within a second I heard a sound..sounded like a big cat. then followed by...well you heard it, your guess is as good as mine. A big female wild boar perhaps but I heard them before and the sound was not quite right. Well... this time I didn't go to check it out. Please forgive me for chickening out. What ever happened the snow covered every trace.
First day was very warm but windy. Unreal temps in early feb actually. Felt like April. Then the next day I woke up covered in snow! I have a question if anybody can guess how I did the shot where the tent was closed and snow covered, me inside and no tracks out of it in the snow lol? The third day was warmer again. Wonder if this was it for winter this year lol.
And to all the self appointed chefs scanning youtube for something to criticize, I know how to make a carbonara, but please... try to imagine you might do it a bit differently when hiking the wild. So please no boring comments about that. Thanks for watching.
Bushcraft is a skillset. It's not mandatory as a bushcrafter to go naked to the woods and trying to survive. To do that every week is a unrealistic fantasy. The way I see it, bushcraft skills make hiking and camping more efficient, lightweight and interesting... and not to forget FUN!.
First I've seen your videos they are great educational and relaxing. Good work!
Nothing freakier than hearing such things while being out alone. Love all your videos! Great footage, great editing!
What did we hear?
I can watch this all day. Just man against nature. No noisy music required and one way to avoid Corona Virus!
👍👍
Watching you camp on Islands reminds me of my childhood. I am going to watch all of your videos. Thank you for sharing this.
I have to thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I know no other way, so: several days ago I contracted COVID. Seemed fairly minor at the time. Similar to the flu. Survivable. Day 4 or 5 I lost a sense of taste and smell. I have since learned that there is some neurological phenomenon whereby this happens with COVID and people often associate it with “a sense of impending doom”. When I tell you there were 3 days/nights of living nightmare, imagine something effecting in a way that makes you not want to eat or drink anything whatsoever. A living nightmare. Thankfully with God’s mercy, and a loving wife I chose to fight through it. Your videos, these videos gave my tremendous amounts of comfort as I was in my own little Hell. They are so peaceful, serene, and exactly where I wanted and still want to be, communing with Mother Nature. I can only thank you a thousand times for the work you do. As a former member of the film industry I am quite aware of the painstaking measures you go to simply to create the look and feel of “your time in the woods”. It is work that is very well done indeed. Your videos were absolutely grounding and comforting during a long moment of crisis. They are priceless. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful country. -Thank you, John
Glad to see you on the other side of it bro, I know its hell from last Christmas when I was sick, and thanks for watching!
I love how he prepares better meals out in the forest than many of us prepare at home. So inspiring
Thanks for watching!
Лайк. Чтобы спать в лесу в такую погоду, нужна выдержка. И ещё, у Вас очень вкусная еда. Когда смотрю видео, сразу есть хочется 🙂. Природа очень, очень красивая.
Thank you!
To the 85 people who disliked this...... please resign from CZcams (& society) all together - 'cause you're crazy for not liking this!!! Outstanding video!!!!
Thank you!
Thank you my friend!
Once again I bow to the master, fantastic camera work, great editing, superb food, breath taking country, no small talk, it just does not get any better than your channel sir.

So peaceful.. This man never says a word, and we all watch until the very end 🙌

Thanks. 🎉
Bringing calmness to people is one of the greatest gifts they can receive. You just did that for 112,000 people.
That is an incredible feat, my friend.
thanks my friend!
There’s nothing this person can’t do.
I’m just happy I noticed this on You Tube, of all places, lol.
I might be delusional at this point, but I feel my spirit is being healed by this human being on the other side of the planet
Thanks to you I could be in the woods today. Thanks! 🌲 👍 🌲
thanks for watching!
Most of all, I love your cooking.
Thanks!
Bushcraft is a very exciting process, but the meals in front of the bonfire are really appetizing .!!

Swedish Torch Cooking very cool !
Thanks!
I have no idea why I keep watching Swedwoods' videos while I am working from home after the governor announced stay at home order. Maybe because it is so relaxing.
Thanks for watching!
Always something creative. The saw blade storage is great and the outside picture of undisturbed snow on the tent is excellent. Nice job as always. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks!
I have been following him for a while, although I know that I comment little, I see all his videos. I like them a lot, because they convey a lot of tranquility, apart from seeing very beautiful landscapes. Thank you for making the effort to make this type of videos where only nature and silence are heard, the best sounds. Greetings.
Thank you very much!
Leave only footprints, take only photographs. Perfect.
Thanks!
I really love your style with no commentary. I watch these videos to watch nature and relax.
Thanks!!
Again, another way to show us the bushcraft "made in Sweden" : just beautiful 👍🤝🏕🤠🇧🇪🇸🇪🤝

Hi hi, carbonara spaghetti in deep forest, absolutely gorgeous 👌

I like watching you cook come up with some nice ideas I hadn't thought of. I love the care and respect and patience you give to your gear and your surroundings.
Thank you!
I found peace, relaxation and lightness in his videos.
As the matter of fact ! I like to watch the camping as you did !
Det är alltid en ren njutning att se dina filmer. Tack!
Tack!
The forests in your country are absolutely beautiful, you are truly blessed!!
Your nature pictures fascinate me again and again! Good camera eye!
Thank you!
Skills-wise, some of the folks making videos like these are so-so, some are bad. Of the real experts and near-experts, I think this gentleman from Sweden is at the top. He has some seriously old-school knowledge. He is so good, he is almost a part of the woods himself.
All your videos are very nice.. Thanks
Thanks!
Thanks you for not putting music on the video, that's very relaxing...
You got a new subscriber, my bests from Rancagua, Chile 🇨🇱
Thank you very much!
Glad again!
I'm always looking forward to get out in the woods, after i see one of your videos!👏
Thanks glad to hear!

Thanks!
SO WILD👍👍👍👍👍
Just Perfect!!!
Thanks!
I'm no longer fit enough to do it your way, old friend. But when I was, I was more like you, and not like so many of the overgrown children I see building children's forts.
I'm more of an overland teardrop-trailer kind of guy, now. My bush-wackin' days are over, though. So it's a real pleasure to watch your videos, and remember the feeling of being truly alone in beautiful settings. When I could still do the bush-wackin', it mostly revolved around rock-hounding/prospecting and fly-fishing, which are two activities that go very well together. If my knees had held up, I'd've branched out into botany.
Thanks a lot Harry glad my videos can take you out there!
Very good video👍👍👍
Thanks!
I like this channel, serene 🔥
I always say I will watch just one video but I can’t, this is simply amazing
Thank you very much

thanks my friend! I snuck out the back!
The Swedish stump torch was brilliant! 👏👏👏👍😀
Thank you !!
Another great video!
I like the sounds. They're put in focus. The sizzling of the bacon, the distant background sound of the flowing river, the trees struggling to stay erect against the wind with all the whooshing sound whistling through the branches and the leaves and all.
You ought to be a movie director in Hollywood, but I am sure they will ruin your skills.
Keep up the good work, man! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much!
Hi hi! I very like how You break-open egs. Regards!

Good morning my friend greatings from Moose Jaw
Good to see you again and even better you are still healthy. This is a good meal I do that all the time when I have leftover nudels. I get hungry when I see your meal. It is to bad no fish I am always jealous when I see your Lakes and Rivers . What is this for a sausage you grilled was that like a kalbassa, or polisch ? I would eat the same if I am outside good choice. Nobody understands how nice it is the quiet and picfullnes. So my friend sorry for my englisch mistakes lol but you know where I come from. I wish you all the best watch out stay healthy with your family. I am sure I will watch your video more often till you make a new one. Take care. Good job👌🍻
Thank you for watching! Just some cheap grill sausage.

Still amazed that in early February you have open water, not iced over.. No ice at all as a matter of fact. Amazing. We are expecting -21 Celsius tonight here in Maine in the US.
😨👍
