What is the fuel economy on that rig I would be curious to know.
The fact that he hasn't answered this comment yet, leads me to guess it is an abysmal figure.
Stock Crosstrek with just a spare tire already chugs when going up a mountain. Can’t imagine this car ever leaves first gear and probably tops out at 25mph.

Wow! This is amazing!! Thank you got making this video and for your guest for sharing everything! One thing that comes to mind is finding an insurance company to cover all of this. I’d love to see a video where you talk about insurance. I know boring… but needed in these rigs!
Get an insurance broker and add added value to your coverage. It was $100/mo for $20k added value to the rig.
Extra plies are a catch22...a lower ply tire will be more flexible and have better traction for its given size. The weight it also important with our poorly geared Subies.

I usually love watching videos of other crosstrek builds, but I hate this one for the fact my Crosstrek will never come close to being that baddass. So jealous.
Lvoe this build, I am a jeep guy but this is very individual and cool to see, I slept in a nissan arama and loved it wondering how would a more livable setup would look, this is exactly that.

Super cool. Just got a 2021 sport and I LOVE IT. I am, however, baffled by how FEW companies make upgrade/aftermarket items for the crosstrek.
The market is still very niche! Slowly we’re are getting more support but it’s slot of upfront cost for not a lot of buyers like keeps or Tacoma’s!
The aftermarket keeps getting better. I can find turbos, intake spacers, exhausts, high-flow airfilters, air/oil separators, diff-lockers, suspensions, hitches, winchmounts, bumpers, skids, rockers, wheels, spare-carriers, lights, etc.

I'm new to overland. What kind of swing out tire holder is that. And how about the kitchen counter in its backside? Last question, any idea what kind of bike rack and how it's mounted to the tire thing?

It is Ironman! Unfortunately I haven’t showed it at night, YET!
It has to be the most overweight Crosstrek build too. Although it looks cool, owner need to consider the little hatchback was never engineered for all that weight - which mean poor reliability as factory components will fail under the heavy stress, and poor handling as the engine/chassis struggles with the weight.
Damn….I’m still trying to save enough money just to buy BFG’s for my Crosstrek.

1:53 All I'm interested in knowing is if it'll supply the needed 1.21 gigawatts of electrical power to activate the Flux Capacitor when you hit 88mph.
As heavy as it is I doubt it will get to 88mph
How much rubbing is there with the 235s?? And does lifting it help with the rubbing?

What is this guy getting now for MPG? All that weight and additional drag must be reducing fuel efficiency to the upper teens at best.

235s run at the beginning but it calms down. I worth the initial rub.
They’re underpowered to start. That thing must be a slug. Also hate to see all that gear flailing about in an accident.

F44 Offroad makes it; he is quite a bit behind on production but I've heard they're great.

@@thetrailtrek No worries! I appreciate your response. To me, this is THE essential upgrade for anyone who buys a crosstrek with the idea of using it for camping, etc. Having a kitchen area setup saves time and space in the campsite or ski resort parking lot.
