Anakin Skywalker is a very complex character. He reacted like anyone would do in the situation he was put into..
Anakin doesnt have a father, this idea was meant to mimic the birth of christ. Sidious and Plaguise were trying to manipulate the midichlorians to create a weapon for the sith, and the midichlorians retaliated by creating anakin, who was meant to destroy the sith.

In Legends, Plagueis and Sidious were both indirectly responsible. The Plagueis novel reveals that Anakin's conception did appear to be the will of the Force itself, in response to the Sith's recent experiments in the Force and the shift toward the dark side they had created in order to cloud the vision of the Jedi. Plagueis was ultimately afraid of Anakin and believed he would be their ruin.

Anakin’s dad is Palpatine because he’s a Sith Lord. In the movie that came out Kylo Ren hinted at it by saying that Palpatine was Rey’s grandfather and that they were so in sync bc the Skywalkers and Palpatines were in union family unions. Rey was Luke’s niece or great niece it appears.

Maybe, or maybe not. He likely meant to replace them with Anakin all along. That was definitely the case with Dooku. Who chooses an apprentice to pass their knowledge onto who's older than they are?? Maul and Dooku were temporary instruments that he was always going to toss aside.

I actually think that the profecy was fulfilled... He brought balance to the force, leaving only a bunch of light side users and a bunch of dark side users, whereas before it was very unbalanced toward the light side of the force

@@soulofhandball It's never specifically said that the Dark Side is evil itself, just that it turns others evil in general. The Light Side and the Dark Side don't HAVE to be good or evil themselves. Think of the Dark Side like a virus. It is "unnatural" what it does to the cells it corrupts, but the virus itself isn't evil. The Light Side is a body with no viruses, and thus with only that, things are balanced.
Or think of it as a rubber band. A weight on the band is not evil, but it unbalances it and draws it down just the same.

Exactly my point the force in itself is not evil nor good. It is how you use it. I think people who use the force unbalances it regardless if it is for good or bad. Too much good tips the scale and vise versa. It makes sense that when Vader came around the force users became equal. From the dark side and the light side. I mean it's just my opinion.
A lot of people miss the fact that Palpatine used the life saving technique on Vader by using Padme's life force to bolster his fading life force from the battle and reconstruction.
Midichlorians were a dumb idea. Anakin not having a father was even dumber.
But, unfortunately, these ideas are not as bad as a lot of things in episode VIII.

The Jedi Order used to be harlequin - half light and half dark, and then it split apart, each side following their own royals, even if the leaders might not know they were of royal blood. Beyond the Galactic Rim is a force so sinister it threatens to destroy the entire Galaxy, and since the Dark or Darth Lords interbred with the Sith live on the edge of the Galaxy they are far more focused on the impending threat which is a monstrous female creature that threatens to absorb everyone. A vision appears - the only way to defend the Galaxy is if the two orders reunite. The Light Lords are aware of the prophecy of the Messiah who would bring "Balance" to the Force, but they are ignorant of what it means, and ignorant of the threat beyond the Rim. Only the Dark Lords know what it means - they must CREATE the Messiah by blending the two royal families together. The last name of Skywalker came from Shmi who was royal descended. Originally her last name was going to be "Starkiller" to signify a power only a rare few Jedi had - the ability to take energy from a Star and channel it through themselves, even to the point of destroying planets and the star itself. As the "Chosen One", Anakin and then Luke always had this latent power in them. Notice how Darth Sidious always called Anakin "son" - because he WAS his son, and in the books Sidious always has his meditation chamber orbiting a star so he can absorb its power.

What people do not realize is that Vader was prophesied to "bring balance to the Force." At the time that he is corrupted by Palpatine there are a few scattered remains of Sith, while the Jedi spread across the entire known galaxies. Scattering and destroying the Jedi truly brought back balance to the Dark and Light sides of the Force. What I HAD envisioned when his mother didn't know who his father had been was that someone had impregnated her, then used the Force to erase her memory of him and their encounter(s) to protect the child, weather it was a Jedi who become scared of what the order would do, or a Sith who was trying to prorogate something for the future.

What do you mean Anakin didn't become what every parent wants their kid to be? He's the embodiment of what many parents want for their kids. He has a good government job. He has risen quickly above middle management and become second in command answerable only to the emperor. He's well known, the one that is called on to do the hard jobs, so he's reliable, dependable, and indespencable. He has great healthcare and any space craft he wants to use. He's a success till his kids drag him down.

The conflict between light side Jedi and dark side Sith in the Force makes it hard to see the Force as unifying the galaxy. A well recognized principle is that a house divided does not stand.
@Looper... You messed up on the old Extended Universe. Plagueis was not another mask or face of Sidious. Plagueis was Sidious' master. Sidious killed him after getting him drunk after winning the elections to rule the planet and gain a seat on the galactic council.
Plagueis used the force with Sidious to push their will out, and use it to create a life of a person made entirely of force, who they sought to bring over to being a sith, and in that much to rule the universe under the two of them. Plageuis also used his powers to resurrect people, and use skills like essence transfer- a skill allowing him, and Sidious later to push their souls/essences into new bodies on the failure/death of their old body.
