I just watched a whole show with about 70 episodes that featured two actors in most of them who simply can't act well. With the problem being a lack of facial expression (one actor) and a lack of non-fake facial expressions (the other actor). I think that overexaggerated facial expressions when playing an overexcited character really isn't the worst.
It reminds me of the They Might Be Giants lyric, "tour the world in a heavy metal band, but they run out of gas - the plane may never land!" I wonder if Neil was inspired by exactly that, because when they ran out in the air, the first thing I thought was "please tell me they're stuck still in the air." And he delivered.
The fact they said "Sky Bats" implies there are multiple types of bats in this world, including Ground Bats, Water Bats, & worst of all, *Baseball Bats.*
This seems like a weird thing that you'd dream of as a kid which would traumatize you and when you look back at it as an adult you see the incredible comedic potential it has.

My absolute favorite detail is that the seat belt warning light is on in every dash closeup. The attention to detail here is absolutely amazing, phenomenal work to the entire VFX team here.
I like how the Chekhov's gun of rope was (much like the virus in Computer Fighters) completely forgone in the end I also like that Ryan was able to buy another skeleton
