    I'm in shock. Like totally speechless.
    I just went thru a 48 plus hour fast, unexpectedly due to a stomach bug. I had no appetite, and could barely bring myself to sip on some water with LMNT in it throughout the last 2 plus days.
    When i woke up this morning, after sleeping a full 10 hours, which i never do, = My Legs Had NO Swelling in the calves/ ankles as always!! They didn't even look like my own legs!!
    Compression socks don't even come close to the results that a 48 hour fast done.
    Not to mention, i lost about 4 lbs in the last couple of days too!
    Oh, & today, i feel much better!! ❤

    Kait, you have inspired and motivated me so much! I've gone low-carb and intermittent fast between 8pm and 10am, and use organic electrolytes in my water. I exercise daily with either yoga, weights or aerobic, as well as jog once a week. In two months, I have lost 25 pounds and gained so much confidence and energy. Finally, getting healthy is something that is easy and a no-nonsense approach! Thank you!

    I've been doing 72 hour fasts every week for the last 36 weeks, I've been carnivore for 13 months (zero carb and zero sugar). I have dropped 40 lbs, 7 inches off my waist, and inches off everywhere. I fast every week for the autophagy for all the things you spoke about and decrease the loose, saggy, skin. So what say you Kait, keep it up ? I'm 72 by the way.

    I started 2+ years ago daily fasting. I even pushed up to omad. Got excellent results to reverse my prediabetes and other minor health problems. But after 2 years done that i cut down to 14-16 hours daily till now. The reason is that i went to underweight, not seriously but lightly at BMI 18 or a bit below. I have excellent health at 71, no prescriptions and no drugs of any kind. Simply i wanted to gain weight to normal level for a good body reserve. Work pretty well for me as i also implemented lap swim routine into my daily walk (90 minutes daily). I noe reach 18.5 BMI. I stay with Mediterranean diet after trying keto and carnivore. They are good temporarily to fix some health issues but not as a long term eating. People should be careful with these special diets that can lead to problems, as human body needs varieties nutrients and we certainly don't know what is missing. Eat well with moderation. Only meat is not a solution and high fat is not good either.
    Happy healthy life to everyone!

    I have done several 5 day fast in the last few years. 5 days seems to be my limit, after that I start to feel weak and mental for starts setting in. Do feel great on day 4. I tend to fast if I am not feeling well and the fast definitely helps. Mostly though I do 1 to 2 meals a day. Have done that for a few decades now.

    Thank you for breaking that down so well, Kait. I follow the Keto dite with low carbs and no sugar. I fast for 16 hours to feel healthier overall, but I try for 20 hours when I can to lose a bit more weight. That also helps with pain and inflammation from arthritis. I hardly use my analgesic creams anymore and can walk further without my poles. ♥

    I am omad...i usually eat in the early evening. Lots of greens, a bit of protein with its natural fats ,always an avocado 🥑. 42 hours is the longest i can maintain right now, maybe once or twice a month. My goals are all over the board right now. I maintain 179lbs to 183lbs. I still have this " squishy" but on my belly. Probably 5lbs worth ,I'd like that gone.

  • @LaurenAkers93
    @LaurenAkers93 Před 3 dny

    Hi Kait! Thanks for all of your helpful videos.
    I have a question, actually a couple of questions…
    I recently found out that I’m very iron deficient and believe it’s been causing some symptoms that seem to get more prominent when I’m doing keto. I put keto on hold almost two months ago while I was trying to trouble shoot why my heart rate was so fast. I was using electrolytes, but it didn’t seem to help. Now I know that palpitations and elevated heart rate can be symptoms of iron deficiency that most doctors seem to be aware of.
    My insulin resistance is considerable, so I’m interested in trying a 54 hour fast to help with this, but I’m wondering if taking iron and vitamin c supplements while doing an extended fast is potentially problematic. I’m taking pills, not liquid or gummies, so I’m not worried about it breaking my fast necessarily, I just haven’t ever fasted while taking supplements. I’ve also never fasted longer than 24 hours, so I was wondering what your thoughts are.
    Second part of the question, if I’m not able to address the insulin resistance and the iron deficiency at the same time, which would be better to address first? My doctors have been largely unhelpful with this kind of stuff as they seem to have no idea how to help someone who isn’t already a diabetic, and I’m hoping not to let it get that far!
