Kuycon G27P is a 27 inch 5K monitor with awesome build quality, glossy finish, 600 nits of brightness and 99% P3 color accuracy. Kuycon G27P 5K is a competitor to Apple Studio Display and LG UltraFine 5K, but for a very attractive price. Sorry, I would not buy either monitor. But instead, I would order off of Apple's Veteran's web site (with a 10 percent discount) their 32-inch XDR display (smile...smile).

I got the Studio Display and its great. But not awesome, when it comes to refresh rate or nits. Anyway, i would never ever ever buy a clone - which this monitor in the video seems to be - lay down 1000 bucks to buy a monitor form copy catz. i would rather buy a secind ASD before i do this

Thank you for the review! I see it has both HDMI & USB-C inputs. If you plug in two separate computers, one computer connected into the USB-C port, and the other into the HDMI port, which port will it prioritize and display?
Didn’t try it, but you can pick the preferred input with a remote control

Made the mistake of buying one of these from the “factory” here in China. Three days to get them to ship it. Constant lies about testing… just hopeless. Perhaps the Russian and American stores are better. Suggest to avoid like the plague

Thank you for your review, I intend to buy this one but in Viet Nam , some guy agree to other model X not P, 4 option available in VN is S9 Samsung, Rich Vision RV100, Studio Display, and Kyucon g27x , 2 of them is S9 and studio are sell and have warranty in Viet Nam , s9 is nicer price with me , but it is matte coating like RV100 and Rv100 iit cheaper than S9, so i choose pick RV100 , but it is matte Screen coating and out of the box plug and play if dont calibrate , It's is so Blue with my Spyder X2 , said that 7900K white point . After calibrated with SpyderX2 it is very good in color when compair with my 16 inch M1 Pro , but if let me choosing to by monitor again, i will buy G27p and pay more money with glossy screen and design
28 inch 5K it the perfect screen because 200ppi. I currently have a 4K at 28 inch, for 150ppi goodness at 100% scaling. 200ppi at 125% scaling means "150ppi" still just sharper. 30 and 32 getting too large, 26 too small, 27 may be acceptable. I'd take 30 but in 2160 height for 21:9.
But if I do pay for such a panel I want 90Hz at least, and absoltuely a 10bit panel too. And not super glossy.
Still good we gte more choices.
it's $1100 vs. $1400 of the studio display on ebay. don't think it's really a "cheaper" option considering the quality trade off and aftermarket support
Well, IRL this "updated version" of G27X (which is named G27P) looks thicker than on the official photos
it would've been better to do a side-by-side (apples to oranges )comparison with Apple's, monitor, and talk about what the trade-offs are and pros and cons.

Well, it depends on the graphics card itself, but I think in 99% of scenarios it should work with a second screen
Which one of the X o P look more like the studio display in terms of bezel size? I have 2 studio displays. Curious how they would look with either option. I would prefer it to look almost exact but the P certainly seems to look better and likely has smaller bezels?
It is hard to spend 1000 though when I can just find a used studio or refurbished for close to that
The P has slimmer bezels and smaller and lighter overall

All those devices uses standard HDMI protocol so I don't see why they would not work.

A display like that is bought and continues to be my monitor for over a decade. Apple does displays incredibly well. The Retina display on the 2010 iPhone 4 and 2013 MacBook Pro’s STILL looks great with high PPI even in 2024

This Kaycan has one significant disadvantage, which negates all its advantages - its LED backlight contains a lot of blue /cold spectrum, which for many of you / users, after half an hour of operation, your eyes will start crying in pain! And no settings/adjustments of this monitor will save your eyes from this pain!
No on device control only by remote is a deal breaker for me. If that remote gets lost or stops working your are SOL.

For a price difference of a few 100 dollars, it's not really attractive that you get the LG panels that failed quality control at the studio ;)

I feel like by modern standards the Apple / LG display doesnt hold up well Theres a lot of better displays nowadays from resolution, color accuracy, brightness, framerate, responsetimes, etc... assuming you dont need the 5K specifically which nobody actually does. If you need extended resolutions theres plenty of those outside of these monitors. You really only wanna just get this for the looks tbh

Apple displays are the KING of all monitors in the market. No other company can compete with Apple period:
1. Apple Cinema Display (1999-2011 ~ 20,21,27,30 inches)
2. Apple Thunderbolt Display 24" and 27" (2011-2016)
3. LG 5K Ultrafine 24" (4K USBC\Thudnerbolt) and 27" for macOS (2016-2020)
4. Apple Pro Display XDR 6K 32" (2019-current)
5. Apple Studio Display 27" (2022-current)
6. Intel iMac 5K 27" (2014-2020 ~ the one and only ultimate computer)

I just had a look at buying one from the UK, and to be honest it's not that much cheaper than buying an Apple display with some creative thinking. Costco UK are selling the base model 27" Studio Display for £1379... so £379 more for an official Apple product. It's tempting.

It's about the same price though. It's about $1900 shipped here to Canada with a stand, which is the same price I'd pay from Apple for theirs. Kind of a ripoff for a Chinese product to me.
27 is too small for video editing, better to have the BQ 32 that mimics apple display.

Interesting. So $400 difference but this monitor is 1) Not colour accurate out of the box 2) No integration with macOS for brightness or sound control 3) No 3 studio array mic with bean forming 4) No 6 speaker array with great base for a built-in monitor 5) No built-in webcam that does center stage 5) Ports that stick out of the monitor and placed in the middle where the user needs to reach far into the back to unplug cables 6) 2x higher keyboard to monitor latency which would impact apple arcade gaming experience 7) A counter weight stand that makes moving the monitor down difficult and untasteful 8) Side USB-A port and headphone jack that breaks the unibody aesthetic. This sounds like a lot of compromise to make. At this point, anyone considering shelling out $1099 on a monitor would do themselves a service by saving a few more months to pony up an extra $400 for a much better experience

Technically usb-a can have high speeds (usb 3.2 gen 2 for example). Not all usb ports here are usb 2.0, be attentive
@@NOlimitsON Only one port is Thunderbolt 3 /4, USB-C. You can only connect a mouse or keyboard to the other USB-A and USB-C ports. The monitor does not have a webcam or sound system. Kuycom must first prove itself as a brand of good monitors.
If you only edit video ore Photo this is nice monitor! BUT if you are like me! Gamer, and video editor! I Can't use monitor in 60Hz!!! I need 144Hz minimum! Samsung S7 4K 32" its HALF the Price of Kuycon!

As a content creator, how can you promote and object to that is clearly a ripoff? one of the problems creators face is people who grab other people's videos and then post them, often making more money than the creator, who sees pennies, as the ripoff account has more subscribers and more views as it's always posting viral videos. I know you have a small channel and can use the income, but don't trow your ethics for a few dollars.

To a degree I agree with you. However, it is possible for companies to sell similar items. Sure the monitors frame may be a rip off but they can sell the same monitor with their own changes to it. Without tweaks, nothing would be new by now. Brands share the same parts sometimes. Do you boycott Samsung for coming out with monitors that look similar to the iMacs?

Totally agree. The price makes the decision. But as it‘s a clone, I would pay less a 1000 € maximum. I own the xdr and I am happy. Not about the price, but about the image.
