  • DW asks various experts what we can expect from Iran - and what Iran is actually capable of - after the country launched drones and missiles at Israel overnight. Israel said its military and allies intercepted the majority of the projectiles. Tehran said it was responding to an Israeli airstrike on its Damascus consulate earlier this month, adding that it considers the operation complete.

    I am listening to people saying that this is a "Golden opportunity " for Israel to attack Iran.
    The people saying this should personally volunteer their life, and their children's lives for their cause.
    I cannot say this enough, there is never anything "Golden" about war. If you want it, you go fight it yourself. I have been to war, there is no reward.

      LOOOL this is a calculated political ruse by the US, Israel and the UK to garner white sympathy for colonial Israel, at a time when every Palestinian death was a nail pulled-out from the metal coffin that is the occupation...
      Will support for Israel rise, now that Israel has given itself a potential war against a bigger rival, in Iran-instead of the white world focusing on the Genocide of hapless Palestinians...
      If Israel responds with F35s the kremlin will be interested in collecting a few samples-because, Tehran has the capacity to make any "air superiority", a suicide mission...

      War isn't beneficial for the individual but there absolutely are cases where war leads to a reward for the community as a whole be it preserving your way of life / independence / avoiding a more undesirable state of world in the future etc. The cost of war is on the current generation where as the rewards are for the current and future generations. Also you having been to war has nothing to do with anything

      One shot one kill vs response of hundreds of drones and missiles is the difference. Let’s say Israel sends only 50% of drones and missiles to Iran, isn’t that going to result in potential mass deaths? Iran should’ve sent a real message instead of a firework show

    • @nahaaniimataal
      @nahaaniimataal Před 17 dny +2

      The difference was Israel's air defense systems and without those being as effective as it was, then there would have been many civilian casualties on the Israeli side which would have resulted in a massive Israeli retaliation. And an Israeli attack on Iran with missiles, drones and other means would have been more destructive due to Iran not having the air defense systems capabilities as Israel.

    • @TheHometownfan
      @TheHometownfan Před 17 dny

      @@nahaaniimataal but that’s my point.. everyone knows Israel boasts their air defense system. Iran might have some weapons that could’ve sent a legit message but instead sent hundreds and say hope you guys can block these and then say if you retaliate, then there will be more severe consequences… this seems to be a baiting game at the risk of civilian lives if Israel does send a few drones and missiles over to Iran as a “response” back but to a much less degree.

Biden switched from the US saying we will absolutely supply weapons to Israel no matter what to we will supply defensive weapons. When Israel bombed the Iranian diplomatic compound the initial US reply was -- we had nothing to do with this don't retaliate against the US. it was not don't do anything. The US waited to say don't do anything. In The UK the government has received legal on if it may be complicit in war crimes and/or genocide if the UK helps Israel. They will not let the opposition or the public know what that advice was. They would not withhold the information if it was there is no legal danger to the UK at all. The polls in the UK have shown the current government losing badly if there is an election for over a year and they keep getting worse. They have to hold an election by January. If Israel escalates tension in the region again it may find itself air defence but no offensive resupply weapons and no diplomatic cover from sanctions. The US won't sanction Israel but they won't fight very hard to stop EU and other Western countries from sanctioning Israel.
      Israel claimed it was not blocking aid for 6 months. Then 3 days after the IDF killed an American aid worker and the US told Israel to stop blocking aid, it went from under 100 trucks to 300 or 400 trucks a day. No one is scared of Israel. The Sampson option is fiction. Nuclear weapons do not exist. Inert material doesn't store energy. There are large scale conventional explosives, the larger they are the bigger the craft or rocket to carry them and the easier they are to target. The American air force doesn't want to contend with Iran which is why America hasn't attacked them and nor will Israel.

    There should be more emphasis on the fact that Iran gave a week’s notice before they attacked, and the America and its allies had to assist Isreal in shooting down a large portion of the missiles and drones. This may imply that if Iran and Isreal were to get into a full blown war, Isreal would need to drag in America and its allies to be successful. Not a conflict I want to be involved in, in any way at all!
