  • The South Canol Road is a beautiful adventure perfect for adventurous van lifers wanting to explore something different from the standard Alaska Highway. In this video, we explore the South Canol Road (YT-6), taking us from the Alaska Highway (YT-1) at Johnson's Crossing up to the Robert Campbell Highway (YT-4) near Ross River, Yukon Territories. The South Canol Road is 230 KM (143 miles) and accesses some very remote wilderness areas. This is a journey you will want to be self-sufficient and prepared for. This video covers some things you might want to consider before taking this remote route through the Yukon Territory. We found it quite enjoyable, and our Winnebago Revel 4x4 Sprinter van handled it with ease and provided great luxury in such a remote environment. We are offering a more detailed Field Guide of the South Canol Road on our Patreon (link below).

This was an awesome video! So many channels force the viewer to watch the narrator as they travel down the road. I want to see what you're seeing, and you guys did a great job at letting the viewer see where you were. The scenery was breathtaking. The drone video work was amazing, and your info about the trip was thorough. What a beautiful adventure!

Hi Peter! Met you and the Famagogo at RVE 4 maybe in AL. I BOUGHT A 2023 REVEL!!! Really enjoyed binge watching a bunch of your videos the last day or so. Bringing back memories of Alaska, Idaho, the west coast and loved hanging out on the river in Salida

There are so many songs I'd love to use. But I can only use certain music or CZcams gets really fussy. Thanks for watching!

Thank you again for this, unfortunately it was 2 weeks too late for us. Although I saw the road on the map (sigh) we instead we drove the "boring" Klondike Hwy. But this is definitely on our "next time we are up there" list. We discovered and I'm sure you guys will too (many many times as you tour), how much there is to see in Western Canada and Alaska, it's a bit overwhelming and definitely requires at least another trip to explore more and more of the country.
But next year for us will be a Northeast US and Eastern Canada tour (Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador).
    As always, enjoyed the video.
Enjoy your voyage, have fun while doing it and as always, hope to see you down the road!

I find the more I travel the longer my list of places I want to see gets. It's really funny like this. And this trip is the same for us. So much to see next time. It will keep us both returning to NW Canada for many years. Happy Travels!
