I've been living in my RV since 2013 and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner I also have a CZcams channel called living free in my RV.
He got that for £2.5k when it's only done 70,000 miles?! Steal is an understatement!
I find that VERY hard to believe. With a built-in tail-lift, side awning and door, and barely 2 years' commercial mileage - move the decimal point one place to the right...

Completely agree that big utility vehicles are the ultimate stealth. They are so much the background to our lives that they are effectively invisible.
Theres a lot of positives about living this life. Its conditioning and fear of change stopping many from following their dreams. That applies to me but...i wish i had the courage to do this

Rent a van, throw a matress in the back and test it out for 2-3 days. Bring your bike/surf board
I built one and did it all across Australia and it was the best year of my life (before those horse💩 lockdowns ruined it and I had to sell it and go home)
And of course, no tacho required if only for personal use and not commercial. No CPC required either, just C1 entitlement on the license.
Do you still need the regular 5 year tests?

Totally agree with so much of what you say about the freedom and simplicity of living in a vehical. We’ve lived in a 1977 Bedford school bus in different parts of Australia for the past 4 years. Sometimes we are moving every day, sometimes we spend a few months somewhere, following the sun and jobs. Keep on keeping on, I say, who needs a house when you’ve got a lovely home (on wheels!)

I would feel really claustrophobic in the wagon with no windows and no fresh air filtering through.
Think he said he had a fan pulling air in from below, and also 3 fans on top. get what you mean on the no windows thing but then he can open the slider at the back, and is literally 3 steps away from being in nature all the time!
You can install windows if you want.

A) this guy is not driving legally .
Any modified truck must have all modifications declared to the dvla.
To register as a camper van, your vehicle must ,by law have at least 3 windows on the sides , plus graphics Indicating the vehicle is a camper van .
( if these conditions are not declared ,YOUR INSURANCE IS INVALID , meaning g an awkward pig could have this truck seized and potentially crushed , plus 12 points on his licence for driving without valid insurance .))
B) " fridge needed for COLD BEERS "???
Anyone drinking in any vehicle cannot consume more than the legal alcohol driving limit or they risk being charged with " ""drunk in charge of a motor vehicle ""
Meaning an automatic 12 month driving ban .....
There are ways around these problems ... but this guy is clearly not aware of them .

I like you are stealth with no exterior windows on the sides. I did see on another site a guy put two crank up dome windows for the roof. One was small over the bathroom to release steam and the second was over the kitchen to release cooking smells.

Great set up but I'd want a skylight. We're hoping to get a box truck too one day, but a 3-tonner one. My 6ft 2in hubby needs alot of space, but no way I'm getting an HGV licence!

You need the reflective flaps that hang down when you have the taillift open - look on the back of any lorry with a taillift

If you look at this through 'rose tinted glasses' it seems amazing,but,back to reality,the places you can park up a vehicle this size for the night,or anytime,are severely limited,especially in the summer and stealth?? there is no chance of that now,even for much smaller vans,stealth camping is not really a thing anylonger,even with no apparent outward appearance that your van is a campervan,the local people in the places that are most loved by van-lifers are now very switched on to any vans parked up of a night out in the wilds.And its not 'free',insurance on this must be very expensive and if you're planning on full time life in your van, you must tell your insurance provider this and they will charge you on the basis that your van is in 24 hours,7 days a week use,very much more expensive than insurance for normal van use,.diesel,maybe 12 mpg? for a vehicle this size,Parts too,expensive and you're not going to find a helpful local garage who can fix a h.g.v. you if you break down. The most beautiful off the beaten track places that make van life so appealing are off limits to a vehicle this size and if the locals in these places are anti vans,(and many now are,) like my Peugeot Boxer L3 H2,they would definitely not be welcoming to this huge vehicle. Ive been van-lifing on and off now for over 35 years(im 67 now and it gets harder physicaly as you age) and since lockdown and the huge explosion in the numbers of "van lifers" there is an animosity and intolerance to this way of life in the UK that ive never experienced before,(things are different in Europe,its much more accepted)Sorry to be so negative,but i think a lot of you here are "newbies" to this way of life and your dream to escape from the rat-race and the reality are far from what you realize. But i do wish you happy and safe travels,but anyone thinking of taking up this way of life should think hard and be aware that whilst there can be many positives to this way of life it is not something you should take up lightly before exploring the realities and practical issues first.
The most real and truthful comment that I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading , bottom line is the Uk is too damn small and too damn overpopulated now by seemingly camper- hating fools, the traveller community are somewhat to blame for this imho. Stay safe bud.

I travelled England + Scotland in a canpervan for 5 months continues, The best places to stay are down narrow lanes especially in Somerset. This could be a problem in a orange truck.
