Another person commented on Aurora being an empath and I agree completely. She IS an empath, she can feel the emotions in a room, and in other people; she talks of her love of the forest and her dislike for cities and even school because of this in many different interviews also on CZcams.
IF you choose to explore her life and personality the HAIK documentary is a "must see" and you will learn how, and why, Aurora is who she is. You'll find out how in seventh grade she took a Mensa test and scored very well, which was the first time she consciously felt a little, "different" from the other students.
You'll also hear her explanation of why she wrote, "Through The Eyes Of A Child", which you loved and I have commented on your reaction to lead you to HAIK documentary. Norwegian Public TV seems to be wonderful from what CZcams shows, and IF you choose to experience it you won't be disappointed. The separate video of the HAIK concert is incredible as well! 🤯😍

as far as I know she has not received any training other then dance when she was growing up. she is just a prodigy, she taught herself how to play piano and how to write melodies when she was 6 and she wrote her first song (Lucky) when she was 9. I will say she is a text book example of an empath, she just seems to have an innate ability to sense other peoples emotions and gets deeply effected by it. Because of that she seems to have a deep understanding of what it means to be human, and I think that why she is so easily able to tap into different emotions when she writes and performs. you will see what I mean if you watch some of her interviews, especially ones from the Norwegian talk shows she did.

    About the song
AURORA wrote this song with Sacha Skarbek, a Grammy nominated songwriter who has written songs like "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus and "Without You" by Lana Del Rey. As said by AURORA, she started writing this song the first day after the release of her debut album. "It possibly talks about rape and revenge, but this depends on the person who listens to the song, as AURORA stated that the songs of this album can have different meanings to everyone depending on how deep you dive into them.

Only Aurora can create devastating beauty from emotionally difficult topics, in this case violence (perhaps rape) in relationships. She can also brilliantly evoke hope from the same difficult topics, as you will see when you get to "The River" hopefully from the HAIK concert.

Hey Bo, when you have completed the Nidarosdomen songs, I suggest the next one to be the KEXP Iceland Airwaves concert (the one, where she wears the brown jacket ...).
It's a short one (about 28 Minutes) but it has a complete different vibe and energy. You will see her from a whole different perspective.
Another "must react to" concert is the HAIK concert. Pure epicness !

"otherworldly" comes to mind .. Fairy/Elve/Angel are common first impressions.. all correct!

Really enjoying your reaction to this and other songs from Nidarosdomen! Quite a concert! Would love to see it broadcast as a PBS Special -- it's that good! American audiences need to see AURORA perform (she really deserves wider exposure, and in some ways that is beggining to happen due to the pandemic, during which people are surfing CZcams and other platforms and discovering her in greater numbers. Unfortunately in the U.S., most of the popular music scene has revolved around increasingly sexualized extravaganzas, where the music itself is buried under a ton of superficial attention-getting imagery).

OMG, she is so good! Barkon34 is right, there is no known record that she ever did have singing-voice training, but her singing, and the way she performs makes her a very special and gifted arrtist.......she masters her craft. On the other hand, her lyrics are so powerful and the issues she addresses are so, and I'm missing a word here, rare maybe? and she's been doing this since her early childhood, amazing, but it's like she has this knowledge that allows her to touch our inner cores so directly, intimately and personally, it's like she is talking to you...directly......it hits us personally and as differently as we are different.....call it wisdom maybe? Love and Magic, that is what I feel. Yes I absolutely love Aurora,

Aurora has so many beautiful songs, and when she covers a song she always make it her own. She is a musical genious. I would like you to react to something different . She has made a cover of Wrecking ball. It shows emotion in another way!

The song is about rape from what I read and there are hints in the lyrics that would indicate that, but the characters are fictional. For AURORA to sing about so profound a subject as rape takes guts, but it's something she's deeply concerned about.
That said,I prefer the studio version over the live one. The orchestration is amazing here, but the song felt a bit rushed to me. I'm only saying that because I'm comparing this with the studio one which sounded more controlled. In the studio version also her guitarist,Silja/Sissel,who's also a fantastic vocalist, harmonizes a part in the song with Aurora to perfection.
