      LMNT electrolytes contains maltodextrin that's NOT listed on the nutritional facts, because if its less than one gram per serving, they don't have to, a legal loop hole. Maltodextrin gives me chest pains, my Dad died of a heart attack, I hate chest pains. I shouldn't have to email LMNT for the true list of ingredients after suffering chest pains, should I?

      Attia has confused, to a great degree, correlation with causation and whiffed on the causation.
      VO2 max will naturally correlate with mitochondrial health.
      People with toxic mitochondria will not get healthier training for a marathon!
      Someone with tip-top mitochondria might have so much clean energy they decide to train for marathons on a whim.
      It’s the mitochondria, Money!
      The VO2 max follows.
      If the mitochondria is toxic and said person goes straight to trying to blow up their VO2 max, they may take the pavement temperature challenge sooner rather than later!

      Muscle mass is an effect of mitochondrial health and epigenetics.
      I had a friend who was yoked in his 30s. Due to poor epigenetics (the inverse of the RPC), my ability to gain muscle ended at 21 due to nerve damage and, frankly, my body refusing to add muscle and additional mitochondrial stress.
      It probably saved my life. My yoked friend had a heart attack at an age about 10 years younger than I am now. The surgeries damaged his kidneys and he’s in dialysis right now.
      In our 30s, Attia and Lyon would look at both of is and put me in the grave…. Yet they would have been exactly wrong.
      And it wasn’t because I had any secret sauce - I was a mess, but my body had a mechanism in play that made working out futile. If it didn’t, I would have worked myself to death as those muscles would have torched my bio-copper and magnesium such that my heart would have become depleted!
      If your muscles are torching your deleted bio-copper and magnesium stores, brother… your heart will deplete faster.
      2+2=4.
      I agree with both ASSUMING one has healthy mitochondria.
      If not, and many don’t, then they need some combination of the RPC and detox to rebuild their bio-copper, magnesium, retinoic acid and mitochondrial epigenetics and function first, or following your advice here might well damage or kill them much sooner than if they didn’t.

      Energy flux validates my point.
      Low energy flux will strongly correlate with low functioning mitochondria and high energy flux will strongly correlate high functioning mitochondria with solid mitochondrial epigenetics.
      So… 2+2=4 again!
      Sit back, relax, and think slowly through your assumed cause and effect paradigm and try to prove whatever you think is the cause of health is superior to mitochondrial function.
      I have and mitochondrial function is the top of the mountain as far as I can tell.
      Everything else flows from it.
      The cart can’t pull the horse.

    Muscle is very important. My mother in her early 80's stopped driving, stopped walking, stopped looking after animals on her farm, and spent all day sitting watching TV. She became bone thin, couldn't walk or hardly stand, became very frail, and passed within a year.

    I increased my protein intake to double. I am as sharp as a knife. I went back to work part time. And in March I am taking web coding pages, and TESL. Oh I am 74 years old.

      I mix coffee with raw egg every morning. And raw egg with the lunch or dinner also. I also do some small exercises. I'm 65 and still healthy.

    I respect Thomas's willingness to listen to and continue to dialog with those with whom he's had disagreement. Too often people dismiss others based on a single disagreement, which hinders exchange of information and slows the learning process. Credit to Thomas for being humble and thirsty for knowledge.

      He never seems to listen to my comments. I paste the one I just made ------> I need to correct something. Few have said you need to decrease protein intake as get older, I have heard no expert say that. The question is how much do we increase it by, if at all. I would go with Longo who is a qualified professional full time (all his life) longevity researcher (not a GP etc who wrote a best selling book). The amounts of protein he recommends for bodyweight is way below what Peter A says. I quote Longo "If you are below the age of 65, keep protein intake low (0.31 to 0.36 grams per pound of body weight). That comes to 40 to 47 grams of proteins per day for a person weighing 130 pounds, and 60 to 70 grams of protein per day for someone weighing 200 to 220 pounds. Over age 65, you should slightly increase protein intake but also increase consumption of fish, eggs, white meat, and products derived from goats and sheep to preserve muscle mass. Consume beans, chickpeas, green peas, and other legumes as your main source of protein."

      @@cunnylicious My point was about him ignoring the leading specialist longevity researchers who are qualified and have studied it all their lives like Longo. He should have heard of them, and know their stance. In favor of others like GPs who have little relevant training but have best selling books by telling people what is trendy that they want to believe. Even so, when I made that comment I recall it was number 100. Now 9 hours up for this video and and 200 comments in total. In my experience most channels scan most comments to see if there is anything of interest. I have seen him reply to others comments by never mine... But still, that was not my point. Please listen to the point I made about the leading researchers vs best selling authors and vloggers.

      If you want to preserve muscle and strength, animal protein and plenty of it are best. However plant protein is better for cardiovascular health. Dr Peter Attia is not just a GP. GPs also vary greatly in knowledge and expertise. Respect

      Plus they can afford all the trendy supplements, such as B12 shots, there is next to no crime in Monaco (no murders to reduce average life span) and there are clinics that can provide organs bought from impoverished third world peasants...or their grieving relatives.

    Let me paint you a picture of what you helped me with and through. First of all, I'm a 56 year old male. I had long covid for 3 years. I'm free of it now, but I still need to get double cataract surgery. I was 6'5" 280 lbs on June 1st, 2023, and I'm 240 lbs today, thanks to your expertise and videos. I'm stronger now before covid. I even sold my car and bought a gravel bike to force myself to get in even better shape. Thank you for your time and help.

      Sounds like you might have had an injury from the shots ? Black seed oil, NAC, and activated charcoal are great for getting toxins out of your cells .. worth a look at detox protocols. A few out there but all very similar tbh. Effective.

      @vardaanbhat6780 Mostly my diet and calculations for exactly what I wanted to use for my new lifestyle. For instance, I only eat locally sourced food from farmers that I can trust. Most of my diet is fresh food 😋. But the supplements I chose to take were not only for the extreme tendon and ligament pain I had, but to accell my muscle mass growth that intern helped me burn more calories every day. Here are the supplements that I will keep. 1. NAC 2. Dr. Bergs D3 /K2 3. Dr. Bergs gallbladder formula (a must if you consume a lot of fat) 4. Tumeric 5. Equate vision formula 50+, 6. Bilberry, 7. HMB, 8. Nutricost Hits Vitamin B complex. 9. Alpha Brain 10. Vitamin C 1000 mg chewables.

    If the true problem is not understood then a solution cannot be found. Once again, the focus is only on the physical when the real issue is not physical health but rather Emotional Health (not mental health). Even Attia's book and final chapter states "Emotional Health (i.e. relationships) trumps everything else". The Blue Zone research states "more than 50% of the longevity equation is your relationships and connections". We cannot continue to try and solve humanity's emotional problems with physical solutions. This is one of the greatest oversights of modern medicine.
    Years ago, everyone KNEW the world was flat. ALL the "experts" said so. It turns out, they were ALL wrong. It's time for a paradigm shift for humanity's sake.

Because for this opinion to be accurate, there will need to be histology to back it up. Im very interested if this is. the case, it will be a paradigm change for metabolic nutrition.

    9:30 might help to know that Monaco ist the richest country in the world regarding gdp per capita (nominal, top3 in ppp) and has 36k inhabantants on less than 2 km²(1mi²), the highest population density among all sovereign countries. So there's no space to grow any olive trees. They're simply rich and can afford the best health care and nutrition.

    I have watched many many videos of yours and of the people that you have interviewed. I have a job I can listen to podcasts and work in and average 4-5 hours of health and financial podcasts in a day. I’ve lost over 70 lbs over the last year a half and have been doing the podcasts for about that long too. Size 44 pants down to a 34 currently. I have developed a insane curiosity of how my body works and wanted to say I loved this video. I have actually seen a few of the videos and people referenced and really appreciate you sharing the golden nuggets of your year. Thank you for your work and I hope some day I can be jacked like you are. Keep up the good work.

      Yup I literally just ran an experiment where I went from completely clean eating meat and eggs to adding just 1000 cal of processed snack foods, and one fast food meal every 2-3 days. I gained 7.9kg/17.4lbs in just 8 weeks. Plus my inflammation got so bad the skin on my finger started cracking. Filmed and documented what went on.

      So you are motivated or else you wouldn't follow your habits. I think a lot of people misunderstand what motivation actually is. It's not a feeling. It's a drive. A pull. And you may hate doing something, it may feel horrible but you will still feel pulled by it because you think it's important. That is motivation. Without it you wouldn't do anything. So when it comes to things that you know are good for you but you still don't do them then the problem is not a lack of motivation but the fact that you are suppressing your motivation! You wouldn't feel bad if you didn't feel motivated to do it. The fact that you suppress it makes you feel horrible about it, not the anticipation of the act itself.

    Just an anecdotal story, but my grandmother is by far the healthiest elderly person I’ve ever met and she does not eat this much protein. She eats fairly vegetarian…not by design, but because she says that’s what she prefers and is more drawn to. She’s 84, walks for an hour a day on a trail outside, travels internationally alone, walks a half marathon every year, is always doing projects around the house, and generally does whatever she wants. She lives like a very healthy person in their 60s would. Could be those longevity genes, who knows!

    Related to processed foods, it seems to me that smoothies, regardless of contents, bypass the beginning of digestion in the mouth. So it seems healthier to eat food that starts with chewing.

    I have neighbor, he passed away few years ago, like very old man. Some 5 years before his death he was ill and very weak, so everyone was thinking that he is not going to live much longer, that state was for couple of months, than he started taking whey with his grandson, and started to walk little bit more and more. I donr know is it from whey protein powder, but he recovers and live nice for 5 years more

    Saladino's point resonates with me well. I spend 3 months of my year in Armenia eating farm food and homemade stuff. If you witnessed the amount I eat you wouldn't believe it. Blocks and blocks of homemade cheese, insane amounts of bbq, and fruits to a point I drop. With all that nonstop eating I actually lose weight, compared to the US where I can't seam to eat or digest anything. I fast more than I eat and if I eat more than a small meal a day, I gain weight. I do not exercise when traveling, and I do exercise when in US. Calories are irrelevant, it's all about what you're eating.

    Excellent video Thomas. I really really respect you for your approach to how you reflected on the willingness to listen to opposing views or openeness to learn from others. This takes being humble, lower ones ego and a teachable mindset. You are a master in this space because of this. What if more people listened more to people with opposing views vs screaming at each other and closing off the mind to learning from each other. How different this country would be.     Absolutely love your presentations. They give food for thought.
    It’s not necessary to agree with everything the “experts“ say. They, like us, give their interpretation of the scientific studies that aim to get more information to understand what is happening to us given certain conditions. Absolutely none of these studies can be all-inclusive. Many cannot be performed on humans without moral concerns. We can only determine for ourselves, what “makes sense”. These experts provide that and you present them to us. Thank you!

    The discussion on GABA was enlightening. I would like to know how to increase my GABA level . I have tried the Hubberman advice on sleep taking GABA and Glycine . It seems to help .

      I have heard this before and is it because the molecules are too big or no transport mechanism available for the transport?
      I have felt no visible results from taking it .
      I’m trying it for sleep and a slight essential tremor that I have developed over the drugs from knee shoulder and hand surgeries that I had.
      No proof to back that claim up. Any suggestions for the tremors ? My sleep is always been short and I still feel ok and productive.

    Thomas, as usual, your content, especially this one, has given me additional insight about my body and what works best for me. I’m 68years young and looking forward to incorporating some of the info I was not aware of in my regimen.
    I have but ☝🏽issue with you and that is that you click baited me by posting Dr. David Sinclair in your group photo. What happened? His knowledge on anti-aging would’ve put the cherry on top of this almost excellent video.
