Aberdeen 1 - Rangers 5 - October 99

Jonatan Johansson was the Hat-trick Hero for Rangers as they fought back from a goal behind to silence the Aberdeen fans with a resounding 5-1 victory. Thomas Solberg scored an early penalty before Johansson scored the first of his goals. Aberdeen were then reduced to ten men just before half-time when Paul Bernard was shown a straight red card after a typical Aberdeen tackle. Rangers dominated the second half but it took until the 68th minute before they took the lead, Michael Mols deflected shot deceiving Jim Leighton. Three more goals followed in the next ten minutes, the first from Gabriel Amato while Johansson scored twice more to complete his hat-trick.

Very true. We had quality all over that team. Mols, Gio etc.....but Amato was something else. Incredible player!!!

Yep! Amato with the ball at his feet was a joy to watch, as was Mols...He must have been an utter nightmare to play against!

I've never ever seen The Rangers on the screen when we score, but at last they've got our name right, we were christened The Rangers in 1872 so thanks Scots port for getting our name right at last

@billy0 90 WATP ?? What does that actually mean ? We are the people 😃 It doesn’t make sense , we are all people , Black , White , young , old , boy , girl , all people . So can you explain why so many RFC (2012 ) fans put it at the end of comments . Fans of the original club that went into liquidation in 2012 and subsequently lost their place within Scottish football also used that phrase . Are you just copying them ? Do you strive to be like them ie bigots with an incredible sense of self importance ? I’m genuinely interested , maybe if you can explain it to me I might start following the newest club in Scottish football and be there when they win their first major trophy . One last thing , are the fans of the new club any braver than the old club that went bust owing millions . I know guys in my local who say they used to terrorise them in Glasgow all through the 80’s and early 90’s until they stopped going as it was basically bullying . Have you ever heard of this or indeed , have you ever been to Pittodrie ?

Aberdeen - irrelevant since 85, winless at Ibrox since 91, but dependent on Rangers and Celtic for their existence since they were formed. Still celebrating a tackle from the 80's and the Ibrox disaster - if that's not sad, I don't know what is.

Always hated that bandy legged keeper, Leighton a greeting faced prick, Rangers must have put 50 odd goals passed him during his career, loved it when we stuffed his team at Hibs or Aberdeen
