- John Brown leapt the advertising boards in celebration as his late goal sealed the win for Rangers. He fired in off the post from 20 yards to make the final score 3-1. Earlier, Ally McCoist had scored just before half-time after an assist from Mark Hateley before he was brought down in the box by Gordon Marshall allowing Hateley to score from the spot. In-between those goals Tony Mowbray had equalised for Celtic with a powerful header from a corner.

I was in the Rangers end, went mental when Bomber scored....cue the usual Celtic fire drill practice....gone in 60 seconds came to mind. RANGERS THEN, RANGERS NOW, RANGERS FOREVER!
Bomber was interviewed shortly before this game for the match programme and his answer to the question best goal scored he replied "yet to come, against Celtic". And when it came, what a beauty, celebrated in calcio style with 18,000 demented Bears. A True Blue Ranger on the pitch and off it. WATP,
McCoist's 22nd of the season and Hateley's 14th. 36 goals between them and its only January. What a partnership they were.
Love watching old firm games. The passion on the field is unreal. Some of those challenges were fucking brutal. Just another day in the Rangers Celtic war

Mind you it should have been a penalty for Mcnallys hand ball on the line.
I used to work with Celtic's Tony Cascarino's sister. He played for Ireland I believe but the only connection he had (being from Italian stock) with Ireland was he had some obscure great, great Irish grandmother!. (His sister was beautiful though, dark Italian looks - not Irish!)
How can that be a penalty?Marshall made a mistake,as usual but the ball was running out,then marshall rolls and the ref gives a penalty.Crazy!

Oh look ref George Smith gave mk1 Rangers a dubious penalty. Smith so many times in late 80’s early 90’s guilty of this. I remember him robbing Aberdeen in cup finals 87,88 against mk1 Rangers

@Stealth1873 I disagree.Celtic have had quality teams in the 60s,70s and 80s,and the early to mid millenium.Of course there have been bad seasons during those times but more often than not Celtic had quality.the same with Rangers.Only in the early to mid 90s were Celtic terrible,and the now of course.
