Can you remove the internal bearing and race? And how
these are outboard bearings - you're probably referring to a BB30 pressfit and in that case you would need to just pop those out and install a new set yes - can be a bit trickier with the pressfits and they can get really rusted in. I'll be posting more vids soon now that it's the off season!
I have a gt pro series 29 and didn’t know if any bottom bracket would fit my bike at all how can make sure any bottoms bracket can fit it???
First, make sure the bb type of your frame(bsa 68mm/73mm) and you have to check what system your crankset is using(sram gxp/dub shimano or others)
It really depends on the type of BB design your bike has - if it has threads then you need to measure your BB and match that with the appropriate crankset type to fit. If it's a pressfit it will need very specific set of bearings to get pressed back in - always double triple check measurements and BB types before you make any purchases or attempt install

ks. I have had GXP bottom brackets on my Salsa Fargo since new in 2009. At the start I had a bike shop change the botton bracket once, but lately I have been doing it myself. I find it difficult to eliminate creaking. Not all the time, usually later in the day. I have a slow cadence which may not help. Any ideas on eliminating creaking?
Eliminating creaking is really all down to greasing your crank and bearings regularly - sand and grit will get into the BB - it doesn't have to be done all the time but if you want a totally silent bike you'll need to do it more often. The more you do it the easier it gets though! Expect your bearings to need full replacement after 2-5 years with a BB that's not a ceramic.
@@TheMTBJourney Of course that depends on the origin of the creaking. Mine turned out to be partly due to a derailleur hanger that was not straight. Aligning the hanger helped. Changing to a Stronglight BB also helped reduce the creaking. But there is still some residual creaking. At the moment I'm picking that its something related to the derailleur
Creaking on the derailleur would be an odd one - I would also check your seatpost clamp - clean and regrease or put on carbon paste depending on your bike material. Your headset can also be part of that - do you have a fork on your bike or is it a rigid upfront? I love a quiet bike it's worth figuring out cause then you're like I knew it lol@@keacoq
@@TheMTBJourney thank you for your interest. Rigid fork 29er. Straightening the derailleur hanger helped, as did replacing the BB and crankset. Now creaking is more occasional, worrying me much less. Pretty sure it is neither heaadset nor seatpost. Next plan to try swapping out deraillleur - I have a spare.
