    He is from another planet, sonically... And his rig is incredibly simple, all in the hands and heart...

    I Love listening to Brian and Daniel playing together. Especially when Daniel plays lap steel guitar. They have a hook-up that reminds me of Elvin Jones and John Coltrane. Not timbrally, but chemistry - wise. It's very deep.

      You've hit the proverbial nail right on the head dude. That's exactly what these two are doing whenever they get together. *Chemistry* is the key word time and time again... ♫♫ ♥❀(~‿~)❀♥ ♫♫

      Interesting how steel guitar has been synonymous with space travel. Goes back to the early days of space travel when Texas astronauts played country music on their missions and continues up through Eno's Apollo.

      I saw him in Victoria BC in an old Cathedral. He played some of his big hits but also a number of new experimental pieces. It was a great show, I'd go out of my way to see him again.

    What do the pedals do that the guy is pushing?

    • @robd2650
      @robd2650 Před 7 lety +5

      The guy is triggering the bass, the low deep undertones. You can kind of listen & see what sounds you hear when he presses them. Those would normally be played with feet, it's quite an unusual application. Things sound very nice though.

    Interesting that steel guitar, violin -er "fiddle" - and banjo are all incorporated within country music but only used as brief excerpts in country songs. Country has really gotten away from its roots and has become boring pop and rock spin-off facades. Also funny how any black artist is automatically labelled R&B, and any white musician that sings with a southern accent is labelled country. R&B is the furthest genre from modern black music and I've already stated what modern country is: a Chevy commercial during Super Bowl Sunday, which is in itself another hoorah about nothing.
